    Canadian Corner 24/07/08

    Good Morning CC Friends

Sure love this cooler weather yesterday and maybe today. Tomorrow well another story looks hot and humid again. We had rain last night but nothing like the Toronto area has had. We actually needed some it was getting pretty dry.

This morning we have a new crew starting on our balconies. I saw the owner here at noon yesterday and think he fired the crew - they nevered returned and the new crew have been bringing in their stuff. They claim they will have the whole front done in a  month. I'm first on the list so bring it on-I'm sick of living like this. I have no plans of cleaning in side till  they are all out of here because will still be getting the dust. By then the A/C might be able to come out and can open windows to clean, and that will take me a month.

YF- you know I will be outside somewhere with my coffee early in the morning. LOL I have an old lawn chair I will plant somewhere and if it gets stolen I won't feel so bad. I actually brought it from the farm - they were going to send it to the dump.

Ann - hope you are doing okay sweetie and still enjoying your company.

Dolores, Meesh, Pat - hope you are enjoying all those garden goodies.

Laura (((Hugs ))) to you - hope you are doing okay.

Hope all you other posters are doing fine and behaving. I turn the puter off at 8 am.

    Off to work this morning.

    Have a good one

     Good morning CC ladies,

Crea glad to hear your balcony will progress.  Hope things run very smoothly.

I'm hoping this roof project goes well today.  The storm veered south and missed us.  That was a huge relief.

Enjoy your trip Meesh.  Is Cameron going too?

My DNephew will arrive Sunday for 2 weeks.  He's the same age as Cameron.  It will be a challenge to keep him on track and get all the jobbies done.  He loved helping with the market prep and the sale.

    Have a good day.         Pat

    Good Morning Crea and Friends,

It sure feels nice to have cooler weather, I love it.  It won't be around that long..lol.

Great news Crea to have a new crew doing the work on the balconies.....yeaaaaah.

Happy for you you'll be the first one, we all have a life.

Good for you to go outside for your coffee, enjoy the outdoors when it's nice and fresh.

Crea, had my tooth fixed yesterday, it was not the filling that fell out it was apiece that broke off.

It was a nice drive to Ridgetown (that is where my dentist is) the corn is so big. It really grows fast, seen fields of tobacco....that sure brings back memories.  My parents used to grow tobacco on shares for years, and we all worked in it from planting to stripping the tobacco.

Hope everyone has a great day.

    YF

YF- good to get the tooth fixed before you get the ache. Those Dentists are not cheap though. Anything they do costs alot. No wonder alot of families don't take the family as often as they shd.

Hope when I get home from work they have put the straps on the roof - I know they have to pour 3 balconies on the Den side.

    Good morning to all!!

It's a nice sunny day out here this am.  Too bad I'll be sleeping and miss part of it.  Crea, I'm glad your balcony will be done soon.

My DF took me out for lunch yesterday to Eastside Mario's.  It was good.  Really enjoyed ourselves.  And on Fri, our little Birthday group is going out for lunch too.  We're going to Dutch Growers.

Fri night we're off to the lake, our friends have a cabin and we're going up there with them, so I need to buy some groceries to take up.  We always decide what we are having and then go from there.

Better get back to work, as my co-worker went out for a smoke break.

Thanks for all the Birthday wishes, it was so wonderful for everyone to think about me and to read all of them.

Here I am. Late, but here! Finally starting to feel "normal" again. We got in about 9:30 Tuesday evening and slept like logs in our own bed. Yesterday was laundry, laundry, and more laundry, but now all our clothes are clean. The house has been straightened up, and Tucker is happy to be home, too. He was a good traveler.

Crea, so happy to hear that you're finally going to get your balcony done. Woohoo! Nice for you and even nicer for Zoey.

We're going to register our Harley and get our lerner's permits today and then go pick up the bike. Yeehaw! The motorcycle class is full, but we're on standby. Let's hope that there are enough no-shows for us to get in because this is the last class for the season.

We didn't find a place to live in Kentucky. Yet. The places we looked at were so small that there wasn't enough room to change your mind, let alone fit our furniture in. I hope we don't have to make another trip down there because it was expensive. Used to be it cost about $150 max round trip in gas. This time it cost almost $450! Eek. So much for the budget.

Katie, funny but I was thinking of your DD's Thanksgiving wedding...except I was thinking of our Thanksgiving, which isn't until the end of November. I wondered why you were in such a rush when it occurred to me that your Thanksgiving is already in October. I have visions of you showing up with your dress half zipped and hopping on one foot while putting on one shoe, then the other!

Time for Gramma to get coffee. BBL

Good morning! Pat- Cameron isn't coming with us. He'll stay home with Ric. He has been spending his day out at the farm. His Grandma there keeps him busy along with his 2 cousins! He loves it out there too! Have to take my car in to the autobody place this am. The car was hit in Feb. This will be a perfect time to get it done. I will be away and Ric has his own vehicle. It will be done when I get home! If I don'tr make it back here today- have a great weekend!

    Good Morning CCers

I wasn't able to long on for a while hopefully it is now fixed.

We have had some doosey storms pass in our area. I think a lot of places were flooded & there was some hail damage. my poor flowers got hit hard.

Crea I hope your balcony gets done ASP. I like to open my windows all the time for fresh air.

YF how is your house listing going have you had any offers yet? Have you decided where you are moving to?

    Sharon Happy belated B-Day

Yooper find a place in KY near I-75 & I'll stop & we can have coffee when we travel to Florida

I have decided that it's time to give my house a good cleanning so I started my closets yesterday. There is a huge pile of clothes on the bed to be given to my SIL. She is a paster at a church & gives the clothes to needy families.

OK I got to move my butt & get something done

Good Morning from central Alberta, where the sun is shining and it's 9* C. Going to be a warm one today!

Sleep and I weren't friends this past night. I'm pretty groggy...tossed and turned, so will need some coffee to stay awake today. Mind wouldn't shut off and DH was grunting, so I left to sleep in another bed. Couldn't find it there, either. Argh!!!

Got some laundry going and I'll be running a vacuum through today. Need to make some chicken pot pies for the freezer, which I started the other day. And I've mushrooms to slice up for the freezer as well.

Ladies, I won't be making it to the get-together in S'toon...just so you know. We were there in mid June and won't be back till November-ish, and then it's usually a quick dash in/out. Hope you have a good time, though.

Will be MIA for a few days as I'm going to Edmonton to help DDs and see the grandchildren. So you won't have to send the CC scouts out to look for me. Will be too busy there to think about the computer.

    Okay, coffee...........BBL...JP

    Goodmorning

Sharon glad to hear you had a good day yesterday. Looks like the next couple of days are busy ones for you. I love the little bistro at Dutch Growers. Now that DM and DD have moved from that area we never think of stopping there anymore. Hope the weather holds out for your trip to the lake.

Yooper welcome back. Gas prices sure are high. Some of the new hybrid cars are suppose to be the answer but they sure are expensive in comparison.

    Meesh safe travels

Anica sure is surprising how many clothes we actually own when we start cleaning closets and of all the times when we say we have nothing to wear.lol

JP have fun with those young ones

I plan on getting my front flower bed weeded today. This is my biggest flower bed so it takes me a while to get around it. I think I will pop some more perenials in it as I go. I am planning a trip to N'Battleford today. Dh says he does not want to go along until I mentioned all the stuff I want to buy, then he says don't leave until I get home from work because he will come, not sure what that is all about.  I have to phone some rental places today and book the tools they need for pouring concrete Mon. So best get a move on. ttyl   gt

    Re: Canadian Corner 24/07/08

Well, it's about tiime that crew was fired! If another crew can do it twice as fast, it will cost way less to have them do it.  I can't imagine living with my windows boarded up, I live for sunshine and fresh air year round!

Well, it's been hot here too, yesterday we hit 25, so last night, I opened the windows for the night to see how cool it would be during the day.  My house never has gotten hot, it's well built, but decided to leave them open.  Well dummy me, then remember to turn your furnace off too!!!  Got the windows wide open, and the furnace running!  Dumb me!  GRRRRR!

So I had a rude awakening!  Getting Dan's breakfast and lunch ready, go to get somthing from the pantry, and CRASH, dropped a large jug right on my toes.  Needless to say, he fried his own egg!  I went wimpering over to my chair.  Dang that hurt!  Steel toed slippers anyone?

Suppose to be 27 today, that perfect for me!  To me, that is summer at it's finnest.  You can still function, but oh, you can function much better at the beach!

YF, our corn wont make it this year, getting frost every couple of weeks, three weeks behind.  Nope, it's just there to look pretty, it's only as tall as my thigh.  I have never seen tobacco, I didn't know people still grow it.  I guess as long as people smoke, people grow.  But who is allowed to grow it?  I imagine not just anyone is allowed to sell it?

Sharon, a cabin sounds like a wonderful weekend away, have fun!  And happy belated birthday, that's one of my forgotten things of yesterday!Embarrassed

GrammaY, I sure hope you get in your classes!  Would be a shame to have them just sit till next year!!  I'll keep my fingers crossed.

JP, have a great time in Edmonton!  Wish I was there, rather then here!

GT, I have issues with most those hybrid cars.  They are so dinky tiny, I would not be able to fit my family into them, and even if I could, I would not feel safe!  I have a big grammpa car, and it gets 36MPG and it's old!  Big V6 in it.  How come nowadays the only car that does good on gas is a dinky tin can?  And by good, you might get 40MPG!  HA, I KNOW they can do better then that!  Sorry, that's mine and DH's vent!  I'ts a freakin scam!

EMC, was wondering when you were returning to Beautiful British Columbia!

Well, have to go to the library for story time for DD#1.  Have to make a supper for a senior couple in our church, and we might head off to PG to get stuff for our downstairs bathroom, want to get that thing up and running.  Other then that, I got another load to can, and I STILL havent done the laundry! LOL.  Ah, the joys of having the kids run around in their bathing suits all day long!

    Re: Canadian Corner 24/07/08

Laundry's done, basement floors vacuumed, 2 dress shirts ironed, mushrooms are chopped up...I'm on a roll, despite very little sleep.

Snacking on fruit flavoured Cheerios. Oh, oh, once on the lips, forever on the hips. Thought my GS would like a box as part of his birthday present, but I found out he doesn't like Fruit Loops, so more than likely not these either. He's 4 today...SOOOOOOOOO, guess this grandma gets to eat them. I'll bring a ziploc bagful for the kids to try. They only get the sweeter cereals once a week. I'm going to get him a small box of Multigrain Cheerios.

Need to run into town to pick something up from the bus depot and do some banking. Lunch first. BBL
