Good morning ladies, it is cloudy and rainy today, no yard work today either. When it stops raining, I have to run really quick in between rains, to do the trimming or pull weeds, and get my yard in shape. I had the most wonderful time yesterday, it is a new Casino I went to, it has 7 stories to it, hotel, Epic Buffet, and 300 slot machines. I won $375.00 and they gave me a new t-shirt and a Players Club Pass, which you put in the slot machine, and it records how many times you played the games at the casino. Then they send you coupons for the hotel and casino, free drinks while you are on the floor playing, free valet parking, free snacks and beverages, and some free meals at the beautiful buffet they have at the casino.
We had to pay $12.79 to eat at the buffet, but what a meal, they sliced the turkey, roast beef and ham for you, they had meatloaf with gravy, pizza. seafood, shrimp cocktail, and about 20 other dishes, and that's not counting the dessert area. I had a slice of Italian Cream cake and a slice of Ganache Chocolate Cake, 3 chocolate covered strawberries, what a oinkie I was, Lol. I had a wonderful time, and we are going to go again after Labor Day, when my sister is coming down again for Windsor Fair, a big fair we have in my neck of the woods, can't wait.
Today I have to clean my house, make a recipe for Rain Bran Muffins, that you can leave the batter in the fridge, and use it when you feel like making the muffins. I also picked 3 bags of beet greens, so I am having some for supper, with potatoes and salt pork in them. I am going to freeze one bag, it says in my freezer cookbook, that I can blanch the greens for 2 minutes, and then cool and freeze them afterwards. Have never done it, but I am going to try. We are getting a lot of pickling cukes now, I am going to swap some with my BIL, he raised the English Cucumbers, and I want to try some of those. My sister is going to trade with me for some vintage Lemon Tomatoes, and give me some Kale for them. I am going to freeze them the same way as the beet greens, and save them for the Wedding Soup, which I love, and use the kale instead of spinach in it, ought to be good.
Waving to everyone, Jill I am glad you have alot done to your new house, hope your knees aren't too sore. Patti-You are surely the canning queen, thanks for the Dilly Beans recipe, I still haven't got my Blueberry Freezer Jam and my Raspberry Freezer Jam done yet, I have been too busy ramming. Waving to Margie and all the rest of the Junes, hope you all are healthy and happy today.
Belle
