Good morning.  We got 9/10's a inch of rain last night. Yipee!!!   Good for the garden and concrete.  I'm to water the concrete if it needs it throughout the day.  We picked up the cabinet plans so need to go thru that and make any changes.  Ed is back at work today.  Hopefully he won't be sore.  Work is slow so I'm home today.  Going to meet a friend for lunch.

Thanks again for all the lovely anniversary wishes.

Margie, your not a bad June, your a smart June for not overdoing it from time to time.  Good advice to Emily.  At that age, any but that age that kind of possesiveness is not good.

Well, need to get my floor swept once again.  Lots of grit got in and I can't seem to get it swept up, may need to just wash it.  But my knees are sore from yesterday and i wash my floor on my hands and knees.

hellobearintub.gif picture by laurasnags and good morning June friends!

Another cool morning here, high to be near 80 again today. Got everything done but my mopping yesterday, so will do that this AM, and would like to get the windows all washed outside today. May go help my sister set up for her yard sale when I get done here too; her factory is down for a couple days, so she is taking advantage of it.

Don picked our first handful of beans last evening, with lots more coming - mmmm, so good!! Have the sprinkler going as it's a little dry out there.

Margie, glad you are getting rain, but hope you don't get any more bad storms. You are not a bad Mama June, all of us use quick & easy things at sometime or another. Sorry about Emily & Corey, but she is pretty young for a serious relationship & I agree, possesiveness is not a good thing.

Jill, glad you & Ed enjoyed a nice dinner out! You deserved it, especially after the day you all put in! Glad you got your concrete poured, and YEA on the rain!!

Patti, dilly beans sound so good; I'm definitely making those this year!! I'm with you on the school supply list, ours includes disinfectant wipes this year too, and I feel the school should have some type of disinfectant cleaner; oh well..... Happy Birthday to Ashley!

Deb, hope your electric is back on today; glad you had(ve) a nice place to stay tho!

Kathleen, you have been so busy canning & baking, bet your house has smelled great!! Terrible you have to pay for bus service; guess I should really be thankful we don't have that.

{{Karen}}, hope it cools down soon for you.

Kim, know exactly what you mean about no one cleaning up spills; really makes my morning to walk into the kitchen and step in something sticky. Sad Sounds like a great schedule you're keeping the kids on, and great for them to learn to help with chores. Hope DS's eye is ok!

Sheri, goodness, you've been busy; don't know how you do it in that heat!! Take care, don't forget to drink lots & take breaks; hope it cools down for you too!

Cherie, sorry you got stuck working late; cannot believe they let people get away with this behavior all the time, and YOU should not have to catch all the slack! Ok, off my soapbox now, LOL! Hope today is a better day!

Sherry, you got some great deals at the store! Hope you have a good day at the store & get to swim today!

Ok, really need to get busy; hope everyone has a great day!!

    hugs, Lisa

Boy is this computer slow this morning. Trying to reconstruct Quicken index files. Has been all night. Hope it can do it because I haven't backed it up for awhile and don't need that mess. Didn't manage to get swim in yesterday. So sleepy it was ridiculous.

Margie, might be good that Corey leanrns he is not the only fish in the ocean. Happy birthday to MIL.

Jill, what kind of cabinets did you decide on. Think it is so neat that you are getting to build this house from ground up.

I can't deal with this thing this morning, so won't try to say much. Have to run by bank after work and run an errand or two and then come home, swim, and pay bills. Probably ten layer salad for dinner.

    Hugs to everybody.

    bughappyhello-vi46.gif Hello picture by my3sons_2006

    Happy Thursday!

What a nice start to another beautiful day.  It's 59º, nice breeze, only up to 78º today!

Today I am going to do the Round Up, and check the garden, I'm sure there are beans to pick. Wonder what other treasures I shall find?  Yesterday I mowed our lawn and trimmed, mowed our lots in town and tied up the tomatoes again.  They are growing like crazy, I snapped off any bleeders I found too. (Useless branches that just take nutrients away from the fruit bearing branches)

I am also having an easy supper (great minds think alike Margie!)  I am making tuna helper,  lol.

I might try a new recipe for brownies I saw on the board that uses a cake mix and pudding.

Jill - I posted the dilly bean recipe for you.   Glad the concrete worked out yesterday.  You sure got a work out though!  Glad to hear you finally got some rain.  I have to sweep our floor everyday with the dog (bleck - dog hair) I bought one of those Swiffers mops.  Really nice for quick mop overs in between the good scrubbings.  Sawdust seems to walk in my house alot.  Boys (big and small)forget how to wipe thier feet on the mats before they come in!

Margie - Happy Bday to MiL !  Have a nice visit.  I am glad to hear that Em is looking about, she is way too young to be serious yet.  And she (or anyone else for that matter) definitely does not need to be in a controlling relationship.  Give her a squeeze for me and tell her just to enjoy life right now.  Does she do things with her girlfriends ?  Have fun being a teen!

Lisa -  Aren't the first pickings of veggies the best tasting!  Dilly Beans are easy to make, it's the cleaning and snipping of the end that takes the longest.  Oh, and sitting and getting them into the jar, it seems monotonous (sp?).  lol   But they taste soooo good!

    Hugs to all...............patti

Good Morning Ladies. Hope everyone is doing well this Thursday morning. I missed being on here yesterday, talking to my June friends. You're not going to believe what happened.Late Tuedsday I started having another one of those "female days", and after dealing with an entire night of no sleep, and feeling weak as anything, I called my GYN, luckily she was on call, and told me to go to the hospital. I ended up having an emergency D&C. I feel better today, but tender and very tired.  I had an appointment for tomorrow anyway for an ultasound, and to find out id I'm starting menapause. That appointment is still scheduled. DH went to work today, but naturally staye with me yesterday. He was so worried about me, even the doctoor commented how attentive he is to me. When we picked up the perscriptions we were give he bopught me the cutest teddybear! What a guy! AS you can probably tell, today i won'tbe doing much of anything. I plan on resting most of the day and maybe even getting in a nap!

Margie, Sounds like you'll be a busy June today. Thats really something how Emily's boyfriend is so possessive. Thats really sad to be that way at such a young age. She's young yet, and will date many guys before finding "THE ONE"! At least she's smart enough to know her now boyfriend isn't the only guy i thhe world!

Jill, How nice your having lunch with your friend today, enjioy! WE're getting much needed rain today too. it's so nicd to have rain at last. Boy, did it rain heavy during the night, more of the same during the day today.

Hi Lisa, isn't it funny when we say 80 degrees is cool weather! After all that heat we had last week anything under 90 seems cool to me! Looks like you'll have a busy day today, Enjoy!

SherryS, Hope you feel bertter today, and not so tired as the day goes on. have a great day!

Patti, Glad to hear your getting the beautiful weather.  That brownie recipe sounds so good!

WEll, thats about it for now. i need to have some brekfast, and rest for a while. I'll try to get back on here later, see how my day goes!

    Bye for now!

Re: June Cleaver Club Thursday 7/24/08

Good morning ladies, it is cloudy and rainy today, no yard work today either. When it stops raining, I have to run really quick in between rains, to do the trimming or pull weeds, and get my yard in shape. I had the most wonderful time yesterday, it is a new Casino I went to, it has 7 stories to it, hotel, Epic Buffet, and 300 slot machines. I won $375.00 and they gave me a new t-shirt and a Players Club Pass, which you put in the slot machine, and it records how many times you played the games at the casino. Then they send you coupons for the hotel and casino, free drinks while you are on the floor playing, free valet parking, free snacks and beverages, and some free meals at the beautiful buffet they have at the casino.

We had to pay $12.79 to eat at the buffet, but what a meal, they sliced the turkey, roast beef and ham for you, they had meatloaf with gravy, pizza. seafood, shrimp cocktail, and about 20 other dishes, and that's not counting the dessert area. I had a slice of Italian Cream cake and a slice of Ganache Chocolate Cake, 3 chocolate covered strawberries, what a oinkie I was, Lol. I had a wonderful time, and we are going to go again after Labor Day, when my sister is coming down again for Windsor Fair, a big fair we have in my neck of the woods, can't wait.

Today I have to clean my house, make a recipe for Rain Bran Muffins, that you can leave the batter in the fridge, and use it when you feel like making the muffins. I also picked 3 bags of beet greens, so I am having some for supper, with potatoes and salt pork in them. I am going to freeze one bag, it says in my freezer cookbook, that I can blanch the greens for 2 minutes, and then cool and freeze them afterwards. Have never done it, but I am going to try. We are getting a lot of pickling cukes now, I am going to swap some with my BIL, he raised the English Cucumbers, and I want to try some of those. My sister is going to trade with me for some vintage Lemon Tomatoes, and give me some Kale for them. I am going to freeze them the same way as the beet greens, and save them for the Wedding Soup, which I love, and use the kale instead of spinach in it, ought to be good.

Waving to everyone, Jill I am glad you have alot done to your new house, hope your knees aren't too sore. Patti-You are surely the canning queen, thanks for the Dilly Beans recipe, I still haven't got my Blueberry Freezer Jam and my Raspberry Freezer Jam done yet, I have been too busy ramming. Waving to Margie and all the rest of the Junes, hope you all are healthy and happy today.

    Belle

Re: June Cleaver Club Thursday 7/24/08

    Good Morning June Friends!!

We all have a busy day ahead.  My day will consist of dusting my bedroom and hitting the living room again.  It seems like my stuff gets dustier faster without carpet.  I will also run the Swiffer over all the floors (okay the kids are going to do it).  Everybody wants more pie so I am going to attempt to make a graham cracker crust from scratch and make another Lime Colada Pie (thank you again Sherry for the recipe).  I also need to clean my kitchen and find the mixing bowls.  DH said he put them in the bottom cabinet.  They go up above the microwave.  UGH!!  Guess I'll make a tag for that.  Supper tonight I think will be leftovers.  I have chicken rice casserole, a pork chop, some steak, mac and cheese and hot dogs.  I'll make some brown sugared carrots to go with.

Margie, hamburger helper does not make you a bad June.  Just a busy June who needs a little bit of a break.  Happy Birthday wishes to your MIL.  Prayers for Emily and her decision.  I agree with everyone else, she should not be in a relationship where she is controlled.  Also, long distance relationships aren't always all they seem (yes, sometimes they work out great).  I had one with my FIRST husband.  We married after dating 4 years; two of which were long distance.  He was the only guy that I ever seriously dated.  We divorced after 7 years as we had nothing to say anymore and NOTHING even remotely in common.

Jill, YAY!!! you got rain, and a nice amount too.  I hear you about sweeping not always making the floors feel better.  I do use a mop as my knees just can't take it anymore.   Most of the time I do the bathrooms on the hands and knees as my mop isn't much shorter than the bathroom.

Lisa, hope the weather stays nice for your sister's yard sale.  I need to do my windows too.

Sherry, hope you don't lose any files.  That would really be a pain.  May you get a good swim in today.

Patti, after all your gardening, you deserve to fix an easy dinner.

Denise, DO NOT do anything.  My mom had a D&C and did not rest like she was supposed to.  She ended really sick with infection.  PLEASE rest today.

To anyone I may have missed and to those yet to come, have a GREAT THURSDAY!!

    Kim

If the kids are still alive at the end of the day, then I've done my job.

    Good Morning june friends......

Our electric came back on late yesterday evening so we came home. This morning after getting Dh off to work I laid back down for awhile then after I got up to get online we had no phone sevice...so that means no internet connection here. LOL.. ( We have dial up.)  Anyways we just got that back so just wanted to pop in here quickly this AM. I've been getting caught up on some laundry and cleaning. So...I'm getting ready to vaccum. Then after I talk with Dh on his lunchbreak I'm heading out the door to visit with mom and the boys, Errand and Walmart.

Today it's beautiful....sunny and temp to be around 84* today and no humidity. Tomorrow it's suppose to start warming back up again...Ugh!!.

I need to run and get back to things......

    Good Morning Ladies,

Woke up to 61 degrees and clear skies.  Going to be another hot one today.  I made another batch of Triple Berry Jam yesterday.  Ended up with (9) 1/2 pints.  Ray came home from work and saw the addtional jars on the dining room table and said "what are we going to do with all this jam?"  I told him that I just couldn't throw the berries out!  I already have 15 cups of raspberries in the freezer.  He finally agreed that making more jam to give away was the way to go!!

We were invited to friends house for breakfast this morning.Donnie, Tommy and I are heading over after we drop Jason at school.  We are going to swim after breakfast.  She asked me to bring a snack, so I have toll house cookie bars in the oven now.  Will make some choc. covered strawberries too when I get off the computer.  Not sure if we are the only ones invited or not - could end up with a big group.

I better get going - the oven timer is about to buzz.  Have a wonderful day ladies!!

Having my coffee and reading the posts, nice to catch up with everyone.

Margie, nice that Emily is finally getting to the point where she's getting tired of her BF, as moms we can talk till we're blue and it seems to make them like the boys more!! Have a nice celebration with MIL!

Jill, wow I can't believe how hard you worked yesterday with that concrete, you will need a few days to recover! Glad you have a home day today.

Lisa, hope things go well with the kiddies today, and that the day goes fast! You just reminded me - windows was something I was going to do yesterday! Maybe I'll have time today.

Sherry, hope your long list today doesn't wear you out too much. Yummy - 10 layer salad. I love that stuff!

Patti, the energizer bunny canning queen! Sit and breathe for a few minutes today! Let us know how the new brownies turn out. There was a recipe years ago in TOH magazine for brownies made with pudding and cake mix, it was great!! How is this one made? I love brownies TOO much!!

Denise, glad they took care of you quickly and did a D&C!! But please take it easy for a few days and let your body recoup! The work will wait.

Belle, sounds like you had an exciting day yesterday! Nice to spend time with families! I always look forward to my sister-time.

Kim, great idea you wrote about yesterday, doing math with your kids throughout the summer. I used to do it too. Actually the school always sent a thick math booklet home for the  summer and the kids who did it got a pizza party when they got back to school.

Deb. glad your electric came back on and that you could "move" home. Have a great day today with your mom and boys.

Kathleen, your breakfast at your friends sounds wonderful!! Have fun!! What does Jason think about you guys partying while he's at school?? The different school schedules must cause some challenges??

Sheila, what are you doing today? More packing? Your house must be almost ready to go??

    Have a good one friends!!
