    Good Morning - 7/24

Coffee's brewing, toast is toasting and bacon is frying.  Wakie, wakie!

It's a beautiful morning, listen to the birds....I hear a nuthatch, bluebird and many hummers.

Just sitting here waiting for the paper to go.  Need to fix my hair yet but that is going to have to wait.  It is damp out and figure the hair will go limp right away so wait till the very last minute to do it.

Tonight is fair night for me.  Wonder what I'll have to eat, something good and fattening no doubt.

Well there goes the paper guy and it is only a little after 7, amazing.  Guess I'd better shut up or he will be back to coming at 8.

While I'm at work today, someone can come and weed my flower bed.  I live in the brown house at the top of the second big hill.  Can't miss it.  Thanks.  Wink

Gotta go and get into routine.  See you later.

    Good Morning Everyone ...

Justme ... Mmm ... bacon .... did you say bacon?? I can smell that deliciousness way over here. I will have some with some toast and coffee. If you feed me that well, then I may just come over and weed your garden. Have fun at the Fair.

Wow, it rained and thundered so hard it practically kept DH and me up half the night. Just torrential downpours and lightening that lit up the room. Believe it or not, I was watching this really weird/scary movie on Lifetime  .... I didn't want to turn the tv off b/c I thought  the T&Lightening would end any minute and so the timing of the storm was just right!  LOL I was peeking from under the covers!

Not sure what's going on today but if it continues to rain, I may need to get out of here for awhile. Unless I am super busy, I don't like staying home. Of course, I'm sure Gracie and Patrick would have some suggestions for me. Wink

Good Morning Ladies -  Wanda, I'm sure your day will fly by for you today - You will be so anxious to get your desk cleared, and off to those cowboys!

Ma, glad those storms weren't here - we've had about enough of that kind of stuff, however, even after all the rain we had, it's amazing how fast things dry out.

I came home from work yesterday, and made a small bowl of BLT macoroni salad, and let it chill while I went to the WC.  Then I went to the cemetary and picked up the flowers there.  THey have taken a hit with the weather and I will put something else out - Maybe silk until the  mum''s come out.  When I got home, the lady next door and next to her were talking and the one in the next condo came over and sat on the porch at my house until after chat was over.  Then I had some salad.  I had a couple of calls to make, that didn't get done, but I enjoyed the visit, so not complaining.

I can't deceide what it's going to do weather wise here today-almost looks like it could shower.

I see I missed an ice cream social last night.  Sounds like a dangerous thing for some of you.  I seem to go in streaks-sometimes I eat it failly often, then again, it gets old on me.  My favorite new flavor is Coffee Break, by Blue Bunny.  Hard to beat plain old vanilla with chocolate and malt powder over the top - - A mud sundae when I was growning up.  I had some with pinneapple and coconut mixed in at Cold Stone Creamery that was good, but for the most part, I'm not impressed with that store - High $$$ and not that much better than any place else.  When we were vacationing in Hayward, Wl. a while back, we found a local dairy that had great ice cream.  Made way to many stops at that place!

     Good Morning...

MusicOh what a beautiful morning..oh what a beautiful dayMusic   Low humidity and perfect temps...what could be better...oh yes, the sun is shining.

Justme...I'll send DD to do your weeding...that's what she does with the landscape crew she works with.  Have a good day.

MA...I see my weather has made it's way over to you.  Soon you will be enjoying the nice weather I'm having.

Hi Greenback...your BLT macaroni salad sounds good...would you post your recipe?  I agree about Cold Stone...nothing special to me and way over priced.  Sounds like a nice neighborly visit last night.

Finished the treadmill early this morning....so I'm heading out to the swing now with coffee in hand.  Toby is waiting to go out, too.  BBL

Good morning Wanda.  Glad your paper came on time. If I had tried to read a paper before work I never would have gotten to work on time. Well I generally was not on time anyway LOL. There sure is an advantage to having wash and wear hair pick it and go. Sometimes I think a new do would be good but then I think I might have to muss with it and I keep my do that requires nothing of me.

Well I think I have done 5 so far but sure hope that is not the only set of 5's I get done today lol .

Good Morning Marilyn I did enough running yesterday so think I will stick close to home today.  I know it won't make a wit of difference but I am truly trying to cut down the amt of driving I do it is my mild form of protest against the gas prices. It must be lots of people are doing their little bit to as I saw on TV that in April Americans drove over one billion miles less than in April last year.  Wow that is a bunch and that traffic fatalities were down. Now that makes sense less people on  the road less tragedy. Oh dear now I sound gloomy sorry about that.  Marilyn what scary show were you watching? I kind of like scary ones once in awhile.

Jane sounds like Wayward Wi would be the place to visit LOL . Since my friend Nancy sold her house next door to me I really miss our porch chats. Nobody else to chat with here.

I got a call from our bowling team captain yesterday and what we feared has happened. The owners of the alley have lost it and it will not reopen this year so my Wed night league is done. Makes me very sad we have bowled together for many years. Being a small commumity to go to another alley won't work for our team I am afraid. Speaking of Nancy made me think of it I need to call her and let her know. I still have Monday night but I am not as attached to that team if you know what I mean. They are not nearly as much fun.

Ok I will post and then check for more grannies. I don't want to lose my post today.

Cjayh, You know me by now, I don't cook with a lot of receipes - I just cook some macoroni, fry up some cut up bacon until crisp and drain well, dice up tomato and remove seeds and drain well, and chop some lettuce.  Add some Mircle Whip and just a tiny amt. of sugar. Maybe a half tsp or if a good sized bowl, a tsp.  Add some ground pepper. Chill and enjoy. The more bacon the better, but I try to keep that down, just because I know I should! I used 4 slices and 1 tomato and probably a cup and a half of macoroni before I cooked it.  I just dumped it in.

MusicGood morning to you,Musicgood morning to you, we're all in our places with sunshining faces,Musicoh this is the way, to start a new day!MusicKindergarden flashback!!It's so nice and sunny again and brisk temps 59º but we did the coffee on the deck anyway. Love that first "breath of fresh air."

MJ  Your porch will certainly say "Welcome" when you get the new rug down. It sounds like you have a full day.

CJ  Does Toby set on the swing with you or does he meander around.  Is Frisco happy staying inside by himself?

GREENBACK  We have a newer Cold Stone Creamery here but I've never been there. I've also heard it's pricey and small portions.  I think the specialty stores charge more. Just give me a plain old Dairy Queen.  LOL

MA  It sounds like you had a "bright" evening last night.  LOL  Getting out of the house on a dreary rainy day is one way to chase the boredom/duldrums away.

JUSTME  Is this your county fair?  Gosh, we haven't been to our county fair in years. Hope your work day goes well.

APPLE  Was it orange pineapple ice cream or sherbert? whichever, it sounds good! Enjoy the day!! and don't work too hard.

Time to spruce myself up and get out and walk.  BBL

MORNING  GRANNIES    I'm up extra early this morning.  Sears is here to check my gas stove.  I missed most of chat last night.  We had very bad storms till the earlyl morning.  It's very dreary here today.  I'll have to read last nights posts.  I know an ice cream social was one topic.  I feel tired this morning as if I should go back to bed.

WANDA  I"ll supply some eggs to go with the bacon.

MJ  That is sad about your bowling league.  DH Thursday night league has folded also.

Morning Grannies.  Here I am steaming mug in hand.  Tried to get on last night and couldn't until 10:30. I guess I need to get on early and not leave. Think it may be so busy you have to stand in line. Oh well, I did get to read before going to bed.

Justme2--Maybe with a little help from my Secret Weapon I could coax DH to come and weed for you. Wink

Ma---I imagine you will find something to do today. If not something that needs to be done, at least something you want to do. Don't get wet.

Greenback---The talk of icecream last night reminded me of a dairy in St. College Penn. Actually they have two of them One at Penn State campus and one in town. The one on campus has the most delicious Peach icecream. Paterno Peach.  The one in town is called the Creamery and is where DD and family go to have icecream. DGS has worked there. You name the flavor and they have it. The Dairy is near the Creamery. Nice to sit and eat icecream and watch the cows on the hillside.

CJ--I see you with your coffee on the swing. Waving to you and Toby.

MJ--Sorry about your hangout (bowling alley) closing. Same thing happened in our little town. Boy were the regulars unhappy. Finally found someone to open it back up. They did quite a renovation, added a bar, and now are open on Sunday afternoon for open bowling. Made a lot of people happy.

Apple-- Orange Pineapple icecream is my very favorite. Yummy! Can never find it here. I may just look for a recipe and make some for our fellowship at church. Making my mouth water.

Stylist---I saw you walking by. Didn't do bkfst out with DH?

Today is suppose to be pretty and cooler again.  Our low this morning was 53*. So nice for sleeping. DH is still z-z-z-z-ing away down the hall. I think he is planning on mowing today. Maybe I'll get some cleaning done while he does. Maybe even run the Dyson around his recliner. Pot. Chip crumbs on the floor.

Best get going. Only one set of 5s done so far. Many more to do.      BBL

Good Morning all. Bacon and toast sounds good ?Wanda. I would come and weed for you, as I've had lots of practice this summer, but have to go down and get a cut and perm in about an hour. Sorry. Smile

Marilyn, sounds like quite a storm. If you don't like staying home, what will you do when you retire? Maybe you'll just have to continue working. Sad

Jane, was a nice, but cool, evening to sit on the steps and chat.

CJ, Mouse and Goldie were waiting at the door this morning. Now it is nap time for Mouse, after a night of investigating! LOL

MJ, what is the new rug like? My boys say they see a lot less traffic on the highways.

    Hi Apple.

Stylist, cold here this morning, low 50s and it smells like rain is close by. Showers are predicted for this morning and this afternoon, but nice for the weekend.  Even DQ is getting pricier all the time.

Hi Mary, is it cooler there now?

Pat, are the Tall Ships in Duluth right now? I haven't seen anything about them. Would love to see them.

Suzi, sorry you couldn't get on the site last night again. That's a bummer.

Must get some breakfast going for DH and a slice of toast for me. Then off to look less like a hairy gorilla!
