    What's For Supper? Thursday 7/24/08

Good afternoon all you lovelies out there!  It is much cooler out today thanks to hurricane Dolly, but hardly any rain. I think we had enough to wet the ground for less than 5 minutes. The grass is so dry that it crunches under your feet. I hope we can get more, but it doesn't look like it.

Got the bathrooms cleaned & the kitchen floor mopped (DH mopped) & the dishwasher going, now to pick up in the bedroom & den.

Tonight for supper we will be having:

    Chicken stir fry, mmmmmmm!!!!!

    Will you be cooking tonight???

just finished putting homemade bread sticks into the oven to rise.....and cleaned out the guest room....we are having some company next week....we need company more often by the amount of dust I got out of there.....lol  maybe I would dust in there more often....or better yet maybe I SHOULD dust more often in there.....

    tonight we are dining on:

    spaghetti with meatsauce

    caeser salad with homemade croutons

    garlic breadsticks....

house smells pretty good....spaghetti sauce cooking away and butter and garlic on the stovetop waiting to be brushed over the breadsticks just before baking....

    Hi Patty & everyone...

I've been at the hospital all morning, just got back a little while ago.  My brother had a severe attack of diverticulitis and was admitted to the hospital night before last.  He's running a high fever and they are right now trying to get the infection under control.  I don't know if I have all the details straight but his colon has fused (I think that's what he said) into his bladder as the result of a rupture.  He has infection in his bladder and kidneys.  He's looking at a colonoscopy after the infection clears (next week) to make sure there's no cancer, then surgery probably the week after to remove part of his colon, repair his bladder, etc.  At any rate, he's in a lot of pain and has a long road to recovery.  Good thoughts and prayers would be appreciated.

Anyway, on the way home I stopped by hardees and picked up some fried chicken so I'll reheat that with some sides tonight, don't know what yet though.  Just wanted something easy!

STG, get well hugs to your brother!

Until I read this thread I was drawing a blank on what to make for supper.  Now I'm craving spaghetti!  So it will be spaghetti w/Italian sausage sauce, Caesar salad, and garlic bread.  Maybe I'll splurge at the grocery store and pick up some grape juice to go with it.

    Just say NO to B.O.

    Hi Patty and everyone,

As you are cooling down Patty, we are getting hotter! lol Temps are on the rise again. :o( Air quality is not all that good and the high heat just seems to make it worse.

NavyChic will be here Monday night and I am getting everything ready for her. Took a run to the grocery store to get a few things that she likes and chicken wings were top on my list. She likes a chicken stir fry that I make with them.

Smalltowngirl, special prayers for your brother that all will be well. God bless.

    Tonight we are having ...

    Soft tacos

    Tossed salad

    Watermelon

Have a great afternoon and evening. :o)

Hi everyone.  A gorgeous day here.

STG, I hope your brother heals quickly and well.

I am thinking about making BLT's tonight, but who knows?  I haven't eaten lunch yet, so I may change my mind.

Today I cleaned the livingroom, foyer, family room, powder room, kitchen and pantry.  What a job!  No cooking for me tonight.  I'm not going to mess up that kitchen tonight.   I'm going to order a pizza from Hot Box.  I'll get their breadsticks too, they are the best.

Smalltowngirl:  Your brother is in my prayers.

    Take care all,

    Pam

I haven't done a worthwhile thing all day, but I actually know we are having pork chops, salad, rice or potatoes (haven't decided yet) and maybe another undecided veggie.  Dessert may never happen.

Guess I had better get moving or none of the supper will get cooked.  Got laundry to do first.

My best friend and I were going to have lunch today, but she had to cancel and we'll just try another time.

    Later,

    Darla

Hi Patty! Glad you got a break with the heat.

Dinner tonight is a pasta dish called Bacon and tomato presto (It has penne pasta, grape tomatoes, bacon, and chive cream cheese and parmesan)

We'll also have baked beans and a green salad, too.
