    tuna

I really like the large cans of Tuna (large pieces that taste good, they way it used to be) at Sams, but can not use that much at one time.  My question:  Can you freeze canned tuna after opening and will it keep its flavor?

    Re: tuna

I've frozen it before without problems.  Put it in a plastic bag.  Let out the excess air and wrap with foil.  Just freeze it in the size portions you will use at one time.

why not?  I even have frozen left over celery that I have cut into slices to use in soups. I get my celery at sam's club and there is just too much to use at once.

http://www.goldseal.ca/faq/  This website says that you can freeze canned tuna or salmon.

    4. Can you store canned salmon in the fridge or freezer after opening?

Yes. Canned salmon can be refrigerated for up to three (3) days after opening without spoiling. You can also freeze canned salmon in plastic freezer bags or containers. Just remember to thaw the frozen salmon before use. Freezing extends the storage time by up to three (3) months or more. As with the handling of any perishable food, however, canned salmon should not be left at room temperature for unnecessary periods of time after opening.
