    Friday: What's Cookin' (July 25, 08)(6:15 a.m.)

    Good Morning,

It's 79 out and to get to the 100's.

I literally fell out of bed this morning.  I went to roll over, not realizing I was so close to the edge, slide off hitting the side of my head (by my eye and checkbone, on the night stand.  Then landed on my bottom.  Geesh, I'm a klutz.

Katt, Scott and his daughter Devin will be here for lunch.  Keeping it very simple.  Grilled chicken legs (Devin has been asking Katt for chicken legs), mexican mac n' cheese (for Katt), regular mac n' cheese (I don't think Devin will eat the mexican mac n' cheese), salad, strawberries and angel food cake.

I imagine we'll sit in the living room and visit this afternoon.  It's the first time I will get to see them since they got back.

    Enjoy this beautiful day.

Drink lots and dry to stay cool.

    WONDERFUL POSSIBILITIES

You are blessed, right here and right now, with the miracle that is your life. With magnificent abundance swirling all around you, the possibilities are more numerous than can be imagined.

Yes, the setbacks and disappointments can be acutely painful. And yet the only reason you're able to feel the pain is because you know that joy and fulfillment are always possible.

There is no limit to the potential that is in this moment. For in this moment you can put your highest, most treasured values into action.

In this moment, you have a choice. And you have all that is necessary to follow that choice.

In this moment you can choose to benefit from a lifetime of learning, experience, dreams and longings. All that has brought you to this day is yours to make use of in fulfilling your best possibilities.

Every bit of energy you sense around you can be focused in the service of the most wonderful possibilities you can imagine. Go ahead, imagine, and bring those possibilities to life.

I think the rain from Dolly has passed now, and it should be around 96 today,

I am ushering for a Gilbert & Sullivan show tonight, so I won't be cooking. DH will meet me at Chick Fila for a sandwich.

CK, sure hope you don't get a bruise! So sorry that happened.

    Have fun at lunch.

Good morning from one Okie to another.  Looks like the weather is going to stay hot and hottttterrrrr for a while.  David Payne says a possible rain next week but that's only if the remnents of Dolly swing around toward us.  Everything is getting so dry which of course means fire danger.  Hope that doesn't get as bad as last year.

Hope you have a super day with your company and that your fall out of bed didn't hurt you.

    Mornin' all.

It's beautiful here this moring - blue skies and sunshine and only to get in the mid 70's.  I love days like this.

Have no ideas about meals at all today, will just see what happens.  Your lunch sounds great, CK.  Did you put some ice on your bumps?

    Have a great day.

    Good Morning

CK, I did the same thing, it happened so fast, but I was asleep when I fell out, what a way to wake up. Got to have the dogs into the beauty parlor at 7:30, takes about 3 hours for both of them. I made a Turkey/Vegetable soup yesterday so that will be dinner tonight, with a salad and crusty rolls. Have a good day. Judy

We're off to the store to get the stuff for the mexican mac n' cheese.  That was kind of a last minute addition.

Jim's driving.  I don't drive my jeep any more than I have to because of the smell that is still in there.  We are working with the car washing place trying to get them to pay to have it steamed cleaned.

There's a long story behind it as the smell never would have had to be there if the guy would have been honest with me.

Little bruise so far by my eye.  My right hip hurts more than anything, but I'll survivie.  ;o)

    Good Morning.

Wow, Ck,  Sorry about your mishap.  Sure hope you are OK.

Dinner will be simple tonight.  BLT's.  I may make a pasta salad.  I am going to bake later on today.  DS wants peanut butter rice krispie treats, but everyone else wants something different.  I guess I will spoil them and make 2 things.  ;)

    Have a great day.

I'm glad Jim is doing most of the cooking outside for lunch.

I'm just not a summer person at all

So sorry to hear about your accident this morning Candykisses.  You be careful!

Glad you are having a nice visit and meal today with family/friends.  The meal you have planned sounds great.  Wish I lived closer,: I'd have you set me a place at the table!  LOL

Dinner tonight will be done outside on the grill---Marinated Pork Tenderloin Sandwiches, Grilled Fan Potatoes (featured on the home page, but I will be changing abit to our liking), and a pasta salad.  Jello for dessert.

Warm one out there today.  They say it's only 87 with a heat index of 95, but not too sure of that---it feels much warmer!

    Enjoy your day!

    Hi again,

Supper will be hamburgers, salad, potato salad & green beans, with rhubarb cake for dessert.  That should use up a few of the odds and ends from the fridge and freezer.

Now I'm off to cut the grass.

it's after 6:30 p.m. and we had a beautiful day after all the terrible weather.  East Central NH got a bad one yesterday with a tornado.  flattened a few houses and one person died beneath her collapsed house.  Not a nice day.  Hope our friend Hedgie from Franklin is ok.  Little outside the tornado area, but still some bad winds.

Went to visit sme friends in the souther part of the state today.  We went to a local bar that serves Lobster Rolls on Fridays--they were hugh and good.  Went back to their house and she had made some delicious lemon gelato and some cookies.  We see them about every 2 months for lunch.  Old, old friend from high school days.

No cooking tonite.        Hope the bruises and soreness not too bad tomorrow.  If they are too bad, take it easy......

    Barb

PS  Tizzlish is having her kneee operation today.  Wish her well.  Since I can't call the hospital and ask for Tizzlish, I'll have to sent her telepathic messages of good will.

Haven't been on here for several days, the modem quit on computer and they came today and put on a new one. Couldn't get on the internet!! Thats terrible. Sorry to hear of your loss Judy, prayers are with you and the family. LaDonna hope you are doing o.k. after your fall. I did something stupid last night. I did up sweet corn for the freezer and took cobs outside and twisted my ankle. We also are going on vacation the 30th so hope it gets better. Never know what going to happen next! We will be going to Canada the 30th and will go back to work the 18th of August. So will enjoy that.

Dh is at IowaTrapshooting at Cedar Falls Thurs until Sat. or Sunday. Depends if he got a motel for Sat. night. He enjoys that. Then I can get all house cleaned and ready to pack camper when he gets home.

I enjoyed a pre-cooked chicken breast heated for sandwich tonight. Micrpwave for 1 min and they are great. No particles of chicken, is the original breast and they are 4ounces. Was a good supper.

     Everyone take care

    Marlene
