Good Morning Ladies - I'm running behind this morning so will be quick.  I agree TGIF

    Pat, welcome home to Kim

The best thing that happened this week was DD's new job and how they tried to keep her at the old one.  Yep, I'm a proud Mamma, and I'll admit it.

Gotta run, Hugs and prayers to all.

Pat- Red wine leaves the worst headache.  Drink plenty of water and enjoy your time with Kim.

Jane- That is a lot to be proud of .

Lynn- Hope your back survives the ride.

Laura- I tried to e mail you but it bounced back 3 times.  I was just replying to the one you sent me, so I know it wasn't the address.  Internet gremlins.

I missed work yestrday.  I woke up with a migraine.  Got half way to work and started vomiting so I went back home and slept.  My neice woke me up and said you never sleep this long!  Should I call someone?

Not much this weekend. Going to a block party at a friend's house Saturday afternoon and that is it.

    Good morning everyone.

Kelly's Mission:  Today is the day to remake your bed.  Strip the bed and get someone to help you flip the mattress or just try to turn it around.  Spray the mattress and pillows with Fabreeze if you want.  Remake your bed with fresh sheets and blanket.  Use your bedspread or comforter and make up the rest of the bed.

Pip - The best of this week???  We went to the Olive Garden for SIL's B.D.  The thunder storms we had dropped our temp. and humidity and that's always good.  I also applied for my social security.  Not quite old enough for full benefits but I'd have to live a looonnnng time to make up the difference.  I'd say it was a good week.  Glad you finally got some help!   I'm also glad you are feeling better today.  Those migraines are no picnic.  Confused

Lynn - Glad your back is feeling better and you can go on the motorcycle trip.

Pat - I know you will really enjoy having Kim home.  Feel better.  I just can't drink red wine anymore...It makes my face get soooo red!

Roma - You made a few comments recently that makes me realize you spent a long time in the "corporate world".  You have knowledge that can only be gained by being there.  Big Smile  Most recently was Pat's review.

Jane - Did I miss it?  I know your DD decided to take the job offer but I don't remember seeing anything about her old job trying to keep her there.

Not much planned for today.  Just finished breakfast and I'm off to the shower/shampoo.

    Have a wonderful day.................Dori

Lynn, safe travels for your ride.  Hope your back holds up.

Pat, hope you have a great visit with Kim.

It is another smokey day in paradise for us.  I am so tired of it.  Pray for a soaking rain.  Wishful thinking.

    Hi Roses,

Here it is Friday, one more time!  Going to lunch today, but can't remember which Red Lion it is.  Should be ncie. In fact I'd better get my rear in gear and get ready.  I've been lollygagging about this AM.

Pip, it's nice that you hired the lab person especially if it makes your job easier.  Hope those ugly migranes are  a thing of the past.

Lynn, my brother is on his way home from a m/c ride which took him to up see our cousins in N Idaho.  He's coming back through Lewiston, La Grange, Portland, and home, Laura, to Vancouver.  My folks have had his dog and they report she is missing him. ( They are delighted she isn't bonding with them for they have two dogs already!).  Good news about your back.  Just be careful on your ride. Yup, I do need more coffee since I managed to drink all of mine.

Pat glad you had a fun time at Bunco. Enjoy the Outlet Mall and of course, Kim.  Those steak sound mouthwatering good.

Maryann I wish you folks would get buckets of rain to clear out that smoke.  It must be oppresive day after day.  Surely you'll get some relief soon.

Jane, that's so nice to feel proud of your kids.  Again, congratualation to you both.

Dori, I'v always loved Olive Garden, too.  The atmosphere is always so pleasant and the food is tasty.  Unbeatable combination.

Best get my self in gear...  Yes, Roma that would be Ione.  We did have a nice coffee at Tully's.  Last night Mertie, her sister, and BIL, who is a retired electrican is completly redoing her kitchen, came for dinner. It was so fun to see them again.

Gotta go get ready to chow down for lunch.

Jeanne and Lynn our thoughts are sure with both of you this weekend. Your pastor is great to help you with your grief.  It seems to be a matter of time, but only that does so much good.

Cook, Laura and DE hope all is well with you too.

    Good Morning Ladies!

I guess Jamie has her cookie activated because I am able to reply on her computer! I should ask her about it ~ Most times I cannot log in so can not reply ~ As you can tell I am babysitting our Sweetie today. She is napping at the moment.

Dori, That is sad about the cat & kittens ~ That's why I said the other day, even without many adoptions and more coming in all the time than leaving the shelter, at least they are in a safe place there. Even if they are crowded ~ They have shelter, food & water and no prediters...

My plan is to leave for Branson Friday morning. It is almost a 500 mile trip. So get there Friday night, have all day Saturday there and leave Sunday morning. I know that isn't much time, but ~

Lynn, so good to hear your back is feeling so much better! Have a fun filled weekend :)

Pat, enjoy your time with Kim !!

Jeanne, I'm so happy to hear you are checking into the grief counseling. It has to be helpful to get your feeling out and have an understanding ear..

Til later Buds, have a good day!

Put your best foot forward and you will be happy in your own skin :)

Jaz, we were posting at the same time :) Have a nice lunch out! I had lunch with an ole friend on Tuesday. We went to Red Lobster. I'm not a sea food eater but they have a very nice salad with chicken and a balsamic vinegarette...

Dori, I really like going to the Olive Garden for lunch for their soup / salad & breadstickes!! Yummo!

Put your best foot forward and you will be happy in your own skin :)

Re: The Rose Room TGIF 7-25-08

    Good morning, Roses!

It's beautiful here again. Tom and I plan a Costco run late this afternoon so we can stay in PDX for dinner at one of our fav places that has great salads. I'm looking forward to that.

Pip, I'm so glad your office has finally replaced all the emply slots.  That alone should relieve some of the pressure. No wonder you wake up with migranes.  You must have really needed the sleep to zonk like that. My mom you to say how good she would feel after a migraine. When it was gone she felt she could climb Mt Everest and have so much energy. I think it was because it was gone. She would really suffer with them. Thank God I don't get them cuze I've sure witnessed their wrath.

The best thing for me this week was the visit with DiamondEyes.  We were supposed to really work on the curriculum for our class. We did some of that but really we had the best time just talking, watching the production she had made for her school reunion and lunch and getting her computer hooked up to here.

You're right Dori, I spent many years dealing with Corporate Crap!  I've had to deal with just about every type of Manager....had some doozies...and situations.  Crown Zellerbach was a wonderful company and I'll be forever grateful for the opportunities I had there but it was the epitomy of glass ceilings, over stuffed/paid execs and pompus protocal.  The most fun I ever had was when we were bought out by James River (it doesn't exist any more either) and I worked for their division Dixie Marathon.  The Dixie people were the most down to earth, happy, fair minded folks I'd ever been around.  I have many, many wonderful memories of biz trips to Easton, PA, Stamford, CT and .....oh no, I've forgotten the name of that wonderful little town in New Jersey. Yikes...a BIG SENIOR MOMENT! That will bug me all day now! Anyway, I should write a book for women who are trying to compete w/men for jobs and recognition, LOL! Oh, and Kalamazoo, MI. Those people were wonderful!  Such a change from the corporate structure of Crown. Real people!  I took the early Social Security benefit too, Dori.  Our financial person said taking it early was better than waiting for more money.  Too many people really don't get to enjoy that long. Not a happy thought. I've never regretted it!

Have a great time on your outing, Lynn.  I'm glad your back is better.  Just take it easy, girl! Put a pain pill in your pocket, just in case!

Off to catch some rays! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend. I know Pat will!  Those steaks sound wonderful and I know Kim will be so happy to be home!

UGHHHHHHHH.........Kim WAS suppose to take off at 11:55a.m.....it is now 2:00 there and she is STILL sitting on the plane in NEWARK!!!! They said it was maintenance...now when I look up the flight it says....Awaiting Customers....what the heck does that mean????

Just had a bowl of soup for lunch....yes I know it is 95* outside...but it was yummy....I am trying to drink as much water as I can....flush all that red wine OUT!!!!

I ran through the first floor with the vacuum, thinking we would be leaving shortly....now we just sit and wait......I am really trying to be patient!!

Cook I still haven't fully decided when I am leaving for Branson or what I'm actually doing yet.  I'm leaning toward renting a small car to drive there, but that will completely depend on the cost. I promise sometime before the middle of Septer I will let you know for sure what I plan on doing.

Fluff- If you are checking in...you can hitch a ride with me!  I still have a free room and I think there is still some empty space in in Laura's condo.

Back from lunch ... There were nine of us and we tried the Red Lion downtown Seattle.  We were early and therefore not too crowded. It was very pleasant as well as tasty. I enjoyed a Mediterranean Salad ( Roma we are both thinking salad today.  Know yours will be delish,too.).

Pat, by this time I hope you are reading on the reader board that Kim has left NJ.  I would say that really stinks waiting...and waiting...

My DS left a message and part of it was the Randy Pausch passed today.  I had given him the book The Last Lecture when he got home thinking it might give him some perspective readjusting to home.  His book seemed to really touch his heart for him to leave it as part of his message. I have not read the book, but I have heard part of his speech, but not all of it.  He truly must have been an inspiring man.

Oh a happier note, I'm getting ready to pack to go to Spokane for a few days.  Gotta shake a leg now.

    Enjoy the weekend everyone,

    Jaz
