    Daily Low Carb Chat July25th

    Good Morning All,

What a busy day we had yesterday didn't get home until 8:30 and left at 8. We brought the two boys home with us since they weren't sick of us yet and they wanted to come to Gma's house. They rode the rides at the fair for three hours and poor little Colton got a black eye while we were at the reptile area. Roger and I let the boys go around by themselves since I don't like snakes and Gpa was tired, he was out of my sight for only a second and a girl bumped him with her elbow caught him right on the bone under the eye and so he will have a shiner for sure today. No fair food for me I was good. Today we will take them to Pizza Hut for the buffet if Mom gets here early enough or maybe we will go without her.Angel

The guys just got up so I have to go, see you later.

Good morning Carol and all to come!

Carol- I grew up on a farm and the county fair was the highlight of our summer.  We were very active in 4-H and spent as much time as we could at the fair.  I bet the kids had a blast.  Good for you for staying away from all that tempting fair food!!!!  You are my inspiration.Big Smile

I'm getting ready to head to the cottage with my DH and my mom.  Saturday morning Mom and I are going to pick blueberries.  I'm going to share the website for the "orchard" so you can read about it.  We went last year too and picked 28 pounds.  (that's 4 big ice cream pails)  My mom freezes them for pies.

    Hi-

Sorry I didn't visit again yesterday- the board wasn't letting me post for some reason, so I stopped trying!

Carol- sounds like a great day ( except for the black eye- poor boy). As Connie said- good self control!

Connie- have a great day today at the cottage. The blueberry place looks wonderful! It looks like they run some nice operation there...tomorrow sounds like they'll be very busy for their first big pick!

We like blueberries with whipped cream and a touch of cinnamon. Yum!

We do have some blueberries near our camp- but we understand that bears favor blueberries, so we stay clear!

My senior didn't need me yesterday, so I'll go by today and get her grocery list, drop off her souvenir from our trip, etc.

Have a lovely day, and I promise I'll stop in later! Wink

Hi Margaret!  Wish you could come picking with us!  The berries are huge and have an incredible flavor.  I don't think I'll ever enjoy store bought blueberries again.  These have spoiled me!

    Hello Carol and Connie,

Sorry to hear about Colton's black eye it could have been worse like a broken nose. You are so good Carol staying away from the food, Just the smell puts me in heaven.

Connie, I will check out the web site today it sounds like so much fun.

Myron's body scan came back with NO spreading of the cancer, We see a ongologist next week to start radiation treatment for the prostate. We heard this doctor likes to use a new method of radiation treatment, The best it was explained to us was he inserts 6 to 10 match like sticks into the prostate. His BP was quite high so his doctor increased his med and yesterday it was 122 over 83.

When we got home Todd was trimming our bushes, He really does an excellent job and it just made my day.

Well working with Jennie today then she leaves for Bloomington for a week tomorrow.

    Have a great day all.

    Hugs, Ann

Connie is your cottage near Hixton? We use to go by there all the time when the girls were in college. The name Cain's sound so familar to me I wonder if they have other orchards. I didn't see any listed but they might anyway.

    Good morning everybody ~

Beautiful day here today.... very low humidity.  Sure makes all the difference in the world.

Carol ~ You must have been exhausted by the time you got home & poor Colton.  I went to the fair when I was in Canada last year.  We did eat dinner before we went and you know how much l/c food there is there.  I wound up having a hot dog, but that was it!  My downfall has always been fried dough & cotton candy.

Connie ~  Wish I was going with you for blueberries.  Joe LOVES them in or on whatever you can find.  Have a great time at the cottage.

Margaret ~  Isn't that funny how the board gets sometimes?  It wouldn't let me post one day last week.

Ann ~  Great news about Myron.  Radiation is sure a lot easier than chemo

Dava ~  I'm so sorry to hear about your mom.  I'll keep her in my prayers.

Alphy ~  Bet you could use that same recipe on boneless chicken.  Sounds good.  Thanks!

I was going to post a recipe, but it's almost time to go.  I need to get home & get Mom's lunch because I'm going out with the neighborhood group for lunch today.  Enjoy your day & have a great weekend.  Talk with you all Monday!

I had a rough nite sleeping so didn't get up until about 10:30 this morning. So this afternoon will be busy with cleaning and running around.  I've got to go help clean at my church, then to two different grocery stores and when I get back home I've got to do some washing.  So a busy day for me.  I got on the scale too when I got up and I'm down another 1 1/2 pounds!  that made me happy Big Smile

Carol, thanks so much for the link. Sounds like the boys had a good time at the fair, with the exception of Coltons black eye.  I hope it isn't hurting the little guy today.

Oh Connie, those blueberries sound wonderful....28 lbs! Wow! Now that was alot of blueberries.  I'll check that site out too later on this evening.

Margaret, I'm sure your friend really appreciates you going shopping for her.  Hope you are having a great day.

Ann, so good to hear that Myrons cancer is not spreading. I hope the radiation will rid him of it.  Have a nice day with Jennie.

Dava, good to hear from you!  You sound as busy as ever too!  I'm very sorry to hear about your Mom having cancer and so badly.  Old age is a hard thing to deal with and it's so hard to see our parents suffer.  I'm very glad to hear that you have your sister to help in this situation.  You and your family will be in my thoughts.

Alphy, that recipe sounds delish! I will be copying and trying that one soon! Thanks for sharing it with us.

Barb, sounds like you are having beautiful weather there too!  Sorry I didn't get to say hello while you were still at work.  Hope that you enjoyed your luncheon with your friends today.

Smiling and waving at all who may follow!
