    Ugly Feet.....

this summer, so far, my feet have turned ugly..and look like the feet of a very old elephant, at least the soles...horrible to the look and touch, grey and ancient,no matter what I put on them..I like my feet, and the whole hting put me off....I think the reason is that my beloved favourite soft flip-flops died the death of the dustbin, and my new ones are leather, and leather soles, you feel every stone and cobble..not so good when you walk most days on cobbled streets! so, today I bought some special cream, very big in Australia apparently, where they should know about ugly feet I would have thought...the cream looks disgusting and smells horrible...but I have put the first lot on, and they already seem quite soft...it says it might tingle a bit at the beginning, but all I have noticed is somehting quite warm.....I think it will do the trick...mind you, it doesn;'t half make your feet feel slippy in the flipflops when rushing in from the garden to answer the phone!I might just end up with a broken leg, and beautifully soft feet!

Treat yourself to a professional pedicure, Mirry! They're heaven!

If there are no stupid questions, then what kind of questions do stupid people ask? Do they get smart just in time to ask questions?

I've always been of the opinion that the foot is the ugliest part of the human body. Any pedicure that can pretty it up is a must.

If it were up to me I'd ban sandals.  I have rarely ever seen a nice looking foot.  There are some out there, but most are horrible looking and hurl-worthy imo.  OMG!  Last night we were getting a sundae and the man behind me had sandals on.  I nearly cancelled my order.  His toes were going 10 ways for sundown.  Gag me.  Thankfully, most men have the good sense to keep their tooties covered up, I just wish more women did too.

Ped egg ped egg ped egg ped egg ped egg!!!  I just got one last weekend, and all the raves here are right on!  I don't have the grey dead look on my feet anymore!  I don't snag the sheets and I don't feel like I am velcroing my feet to the carpet anymore.

    Limey, what is it?

Mirry - in a nutshell, it's a microplane grater for the feet!!  It's available in the UK - just Google PedEgg and you'll see.

Wow, do I ever understand.  I was thinking of getting the Ped Egg.  There is one alternative and some may think it funny.  My dad is a minister/preacher and actually his feet are not that cute anymore, since he is a few days away from his 78th b-day.

Any hoo.  He always quotes a verse in the bible, and wins the prize for having the most beautiful feet.  The verse says something like:  "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel."  We always have a good laugh and this has been going on since I was little.  So beware, the preachers who claim their feet are beautiful.  Of course, I am having too much fun with this.

Back to the true foot story.  I agree that most people should really take a good look at their own feet before they make other people gag.  For most folks, the pedicure doesn't help very much.  LOL

    This was fun.

The pedegg works to a point on the dead skin but  you still need the very fine sand paper to smooth up the rough spots.

Something else that works to remove dead skin is Miracle Whip. I don't know what brand you have available there, but it's NOT mayonaise but a jar of salad dressing. Sold in a jar just like mayo. Just slather a coat on your rough spots (elbows, knees, feets...perhaps your face and neck if you're brave) and leave on for about 15 minutes. Rub off with a rag or dish towel and rinse off the stink. The acid in the salad dressing eats away at the dead skin and leaves your skin baby-butt soft!

Reality is for people who lack imagination.

I say go get a spa pedicure!  I just got one Friday and my feet are still looking good.  Plus you get to sit in the nice massage chair!  My sister has a pedegg and she doesn't like it.

    Re: Ugly Feet.....

Just saw this on TV -- Some spas are installing tanks with small carp fish.  You sit in the chair and dangle your feet in the tank and the carp nibble all the dead skin off your feet.  You can opt for the 15 minute treatment or 30 minutes.  It's regulated to where they have to change the water for each customer.  This is not new!  We used to sit on the dock and dangle our feet in the water and the minnows would nibble on them -- same concept, but free!  My experience showed that it would take longer than 15 or 30 minutes for them to do a complete job.  We loved doing it!
