    What's For Supper? Friday 7/25/08

Good morning/afternoon to you all!   We had a really wonderful & much needed rain yesterday. I don't think it rained a lot, but it was long & steady that I think it might have done some good, sure wish it would have rained all night too. It only got into the 80's & that was wonderful too   Smile

Not too much going on here today, I swept the floors, laundry is in the washer & dryer & I will pick up around the house, fairly easy day!

Tonight for supper we will have:

    Ham

    Baked sweet potatoes

    Salad

    Have a great weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!          Patty

Happy Friday to you, Pretty Patty...sure sounds like you're having a lovely day! Yes

We've got some Storm in the forecast here for later today and tomorrow morning but, like you, we're in need of some rain.

I'm spending some time in Laundry Land today, too!  Seems like I'm always doing that. Confused

Anyhoo...for Dinner today, I'm going to dice up the leftover Onion Burgers I made earlier this week and mix that up with some onions, tomatoes and rice.  Kinda like Spanish Rice. Smile

Sure hope you have a Wonderful Weekend!

Pretty Patty, I am so glad you got some needed rain... I know I get tired of it all winter but really we can use some now.. it has been a month...and things are so dry...everyday on the news they report new fires...nice again today.. mid 80's witha breeze....

I haven't been busy at all today!! My knee is still aching from the Costco trip, so will hang a couple loads of laundry on the lines and sweep and mop the kitchen...and that's it today....

I asked DS what he wanted tonight for dinner so he went to the freezer and came back with a package of pork chops and put 2 pints of home made applesauce in the fridge!!

so I guess tonight I am fixing...

    Pork Chops

    Applesauce

    potatoes and cream gravy

and some beautiful fresh beans I got last night at the Farmers Market!

    Have a wonderful weekend!!!

Hi, Patty and everyone. I'm so glad you got some rain out of Dolly. Nothing here except high humidity. I think it is about 48% right now and very oppressive outside. We made a quick trip to Tyler in East Texas this morning to deliver some papers. We sold our 5th Wheel. The new owners will be getting it tomorrow.

As far as dinner tonight, we may end up eating out. We have to meet the new owners to sign some papers this evening so we may just grab a bite out. Or, we may come home and I'll fix fajitas.

Hope everyone has a great day.

    Hi Patty and everyone,

It has been a while since we have had any rain, a nice steady soft rain would really be nice. :o) We are heating up again so I will be inside with the air conditioner.

Tonight will be an easy one since we did not have the tacos last night even though I had everything done. Bob stopped and picked up some Chinese yesterday on his way home,  so we will be having.....

    Beef tacos

    Salad

    Rest of watermelon

Have a great afternoon and evening. :o)

    Hello Patty!

Tonight we are having a going away party (family) for someone that is moving away.

So far I know that we are having turkey, mashed potatos, homeade noodles, green beans and then other people are bringing in other things...(this is just what mammaw is fixing) and for dessert we are having homeade ice cream!!!

There goes the diet for sure! LOL!

Hope that you get some more rain soon!

    Hello Ladies!

It is hot and sunny here today. I was lucky to get out of work 90 minutes early today so I just finished making white chocolate rice krispy treats (before dinner dessert) and some iced tea. I plan to suit up and jump in the backyard pool. DD is at the mall now with a friend, they will be here soon and join me.

Later, we'll munch on some chili cheese nachos made with Frito's scoops. I've got a rip avocado and beautiful tomatoes, so maybe a side salad too.

    Have a great day all!

It's so dry here.  We could really use rain, but it is certainly beautiful out today.  The birds are chirping and the leaves are rustling.

I guess I need to make a plum tart today, since we have ripe plums.  And I think we'll have some kind of beef on a stick for dinner, but I haven't decided whether it will be chunks or strips, nor what marinade to make.

More useless trivia remembered from high school.

Homemade chicken soup with homemade noodles. Crusty french bread, too.

Nothing like a hot bowl of soup on a hot summer day in Florida. LOL!

Here you go...the chips just add a subltle flavor, but yummy. In the recipe, it is pictured with the remaining half bag chips melted with a tsp of butter or oil and piped in a thin drizzle at a diagonal after it has been spread in pan. I skip that step and reserve the extra chips for next time.

    White chocolate Krispie Treats

    8 -8 1/2 cups cereal (Closer to the 8 1/2 for me)

    1/2 stick butter or margarine

    1 bag regular sized marshmallows

    1- Pinch of salt

    1/2 bag white chocolate chips

    1/2 tsp vanilla

9 X 13 pan sprayed with PAM or buttered

Melt margaine or butter on low with marshmallows; add salt, then chips and stir until mostly melted. Take off heat, add vanilla and cereal. Stir well and dish into pan. Spray back of spoon with PAM to smooth it all into place.
