    High Efficiency Toilets (HET)?

Our Municipal Water District is offering free HETs installed and removal of the old toilet if it is 3.5 gallon per flush or more.   I'm wanted to go for it!  Anyone have any dealings with these low HET's?  Do they work OK?

SOME are fine.  A lot are pretty much liquids only toilets!  the one I have now is okay, the one before was a nightmare.  What I wouldn't do for one that uses 6 gallons to flush, now those babies work!

We replaced both ours with the pressure assisted tanks and they work beautifully.

Do you watch King of the Hill??  If so, did you ever see the one regarding low water use toilets?  It is hilarious and so true.  I lived in a place with these low flow toilets and after 3 flushes sometimes everything would be gone.  Was I saving water??

    Limey,

our hospital has the pressure only (no tank) ones like nost commercial stablishments. We had those put in our house when we remodeled in 1933 and they worked beautifully, even up on the 4th floor. I doubt you can find a toilet with a tank in 90% of Germany.

The trouble is, our hospital is on a hill and they don't have enough pressure to start with. Even for a small pooper you have to flush 2-3 times, so what is the purpose of having them unless you have good water pressure. Luckily, in my part of this metropilis we have high water pressure and even my HET works fine, yet sometimes I flush twice just for the hell of it abd to keep the sewer from plugging up. I try to conserve water in other ways.

Like Limey- we also have the pressure assisted toilets. Looks just like a regular toilet with a tank. There's compressed air within the reservoir that makes it flush so well. It has nothing to do with your water pressure.

    I highly recommend these!
