Early, Early Early tonight, but it is just a quick run thro as we have a big green blob of rain coming thro with some red dots and I am already hearing thunder so I am going to get this posted and everything off and unplugged.  Oh well Bob has to go to work tomorrow and we need to get to bed early anyway for a change.

Paradise  Paradise  Paradise   Go figure - the one night I'm up late there's no one to talk with  LOL.

Oh well, Good Morning to Y'all !!!

Margaret E - at least I can say Hi to you soon.  Thanks for that trifle - one question - what are ratafia biscuits and how are they used?  Is it something you line the bowl with like we do lady fingers ?

Guess I'll go have a cup of tea and some cinnamon toast - sounds good to me before bed.

Hi, PEG. I am still here. I was just checking for late posters and didn't realize I had tomorrow's thread, already. It's almost time for my snack and cinnamon toast sounds like a good idea, along with some iced tea.

Big smile, NANCY Z as I just did the same thing.

    See you all later.

Edit: We have to have a serious talk about raising flowers, GRACE. LOL, that is so funny.

Tippy, it's funny now, but at the time I thought petunias were highly overrated. Smile But look at 'em now! You can hardly see the leaves for all the flowers. Now I have to figure out what I'm doing wrong with my hanging baskets. They never live up to their early promise.

    Happy weekend, everyone.

    Re: 07/26/08 CS's Chat

    Good Morning Everyone!
I seem to have been away from the computer for a couple of days. I have been working on a quilt top plus whatever else came up.
Grace, I see your petunias are making up for lost time (flowers), they really are beautiful. I did not plant any this year but do have begonias which seem to do better for me than most flowers.
Zora, hope the storms were not severe. The rain would be welcome here. We did have a couple of showers this week but more are welcome.
Peg, that cinnamon toast sounds good, may have some for breakfast.
Good Morning to Nancy Z and Tippy.
Margaret E, thank you for the recipes. Are the ratafia biscuits sort of like almond macaroons?
I don’t know what is in the works for today. I need to clean a little and do some laundry and then who knows what will come up. DD#2 will probably be here some to quilt or at least plan what she wants to do next. I have a couple ready but can work on that when she is at work so leave the weekends for her.
I think I need coffee so will get it going and then get this day going.
I am adding armloads of hugs, prayers and well wishes to the baskets this morning as I repeat the group prayer.
Wishing Everyone A Happy Day! Lois

    Re: 07/26/08 CS's Chat

Good morning all.   A real quick one as I have to be out the door shortly to meet DS.  We've been talking about prepaying my funeral expenses since Sept. and today is the day.

Yesterday I spent the day sitting around with a friendaround her campfire.  They are the campground hosts for a state park.  It was really great to talk with them, I've known her since 7th grade and him since 10th.  A new unit came in and set up next to them.  Talk about the "cadilac" of something.   He graciously offered us a tour!  We agreed that it is one that we could never afford!!  He told us he got it at about 1/3rd market value as it was a bank repo.  BEAUTIFUL!!!

Grace, sure got a laugh about your petunias, but now they are gorgeous.

I picked up two grands last nite  and all ready they are up and full of pep.   I'll be dropping them off with DDIL for awhile and then head back home.  They have already giving me a list of things they want to do today, guess I won't get back on here for awhile.

Talked to DBIL last nite and DS is feeling better than yesterday, but we know that she is in for a long fight.  I've started a couple chem hats for her.  We think that she'll be starting it by the end of next week.

Got to run, take care all.  Pat

Morning. I got a break from Dad’s (well, cooking)last night but didn’t know he had gone to the Japanese restaurant until after I had gone to the grocery store and his house!! Oh, well. Today I’m going over early to wash, etc. because we are going to a surprise retirement party tonight at a local Irish pub. I am so excited!! It opened in Dec and I’ve wanted to go there!!
Middle sis and 4 kids are coming tomorrow for their vacation. I’m pretty sure they will put the crab traps out…so maybe we’ll get some more crabs. Yum!
Zora, we didn’t get much rain…several drops only!! Did you get any? All the blobs are turning out to be duds!!! LOL
Peg, good to see you. How are things on your side of FL?
Nancy Z, good to see you too. Cinnamon toast does sound good…will have to remember that for a snack.
Tippy, good to see you too. Yesterday was a slow day here…everyone must be very busy. Does Rich go back to work Mon? Vacations never last long enough, huh?
Grace, I don’t have much of a green thumb…it’s more brown to black!! Mom had plants in the house and outside and I’ve only killed 1 inside, which is a miracle!!! LOL
Margaret E, thanks for sharing the recipe…sounds good.
Lois, glad you are getting to play with your prize toy. I’m sure it’s exciting. Got your email…that was sent to me before. I’m surprised that it isn’t being sent more often!! So important!! That would be good to show a group of ladies…church, civic groups…where more ladies are gathered.
Nancy Z, Christmas in July sounds fun. I haven’t seen anything like that around here or I missed it!! LOL Oh, well…couldn’t go today anyway…
Pat, you stay running!! Have a good day!  Keeping your sis in my prayers. I’m sure she will appreciate the hats.
Waving to all. Filling the baskets with lots of hugs and prayers for all…

Good morning from Indiana, it's 79 out there, so not too bad.

Have laundry going & just took a choc. cake out of the oven.  It was a recipe I saw on the board, will let you know how it turns out as soon as it cools, easy to make.  We'll have it for a snack after we get home from eating out..........no cooking for me tonight.

DH tucked away in his shop this morning, just got finished washing his truck.  I just finished balancing the checkbook.......always fun.  At least DH doesn't mess with it, so the mistakes are all mine.......LOL!

Hope everyone is having a great day.

Goldie sure was not happy about it all  and the puppies hid under a bench so they stayed dry.

waiting for Rose to call we may go out to eat.

well the phone is ringing so better go for now

I don't imagine anyone has missed me while I've been gone.  I've been busy this past week, helping out in Bible School and babysitting my 2 youngest grandsons.

I guess I missed some celebrations this week.

Happy belated anniversary wishes to Tippy and Rich. I hope you had a good celebration.

And belated Birthday Greetings going out to NancyZ and Betty.

     BIRTHDAY_21433-vi.gif picture by Mapanda

Today is my oldest DD, Karla's birthday.  She is 46 years old today.

The weather is going to get the hottest so far this summer this week.  Today through the next 4 or 5 days is going to reach 100 or more, with a heat index of 105 to 110.  A nephew has already had heat exhaustion from the heat.  He passed out in his back yard, mowing.  Time for everyone to drink plenty of water to keep rehydrated, especially when doing outside chores, and either do them early in the morning or early evening.

I will probably be on occasionally during this week, but the week after, I will be staying at Dorothy's house, while she and her DH go to San Diego.  I need to be there with Serena and Miranda.

I hope everyone is having a good day.  Hugs and Prayers for all of you.

    Margaret

Sounds like everyone is having a pretty good summer so far. Zora, did you get the storm? We sure have had some doozies this week, but really needed the rain....I think.....! This AM I went out to pick the quart or so of green beans I thought I had and ended up filling a five gallon bucket! Guess what I get to do tomorrow?

Margaret, don't do too much in that heat. Just stay inside and of course it is a good excuse to eat lots of ice cream. LOL.

Nancy z...did you get flooded last month? I feel so out of it still...glad Ruth showed up today, I was getting worried and afraid to ask.

Well only one more day and then I can go to the Chiropractor. Speaking of which, is Lynn still with us? I haven't seen her post this week.

Had a great time at the concert last night. The Midsouth Navy Jazz Band played and there was a special treat. Remember last year when a young sailor from the KittyHawk tried out for Nashville Star but didn't go very far? Well he was there and sang three blues songs. Wow! He was awesome. It was a good time. The people we were with are about ten years older than we are. The gal and I were enjoying watching the little ones twril around those things that light up and blink in different colors. She said she never had anything that cool when she was a kid and I agreed. She said she had to stick a twig in the fire and twirl it around and pretend it was a sparkler. So I excused myself to the ladies room and snuck back and got two of them for us. We had so much fun twirling them around and the look of wonder on her face was just like that of a child. It was so cool. Fraidy spent the night batting mine around and now it is almost dead, but sure was fun while it lasted. Everyone have a great day.

    Baked Chicken

How do you make 'baked chicken' that just falls off the bones?

What do you put on the chicken?  How long do you cook it?  Do you cover it?
