    Canadian Corner 08/08/08

    Good Morning CC friends

Anyone think you might be lucky today with date like that? In China they think it is-maybe because of the games. Heck thats all I will get on news now.

This board is slow and very hard to get on these few weeks.

This is slave day-lots of dust to deal with - my carpet is white is cement dust from the block beside me.

    Have a nice day

Crea, I didn't think you could get on here this morning so I started the post.  I should have called you to see if there was a problem.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Okay, then! I had to hit post so that nobody would beat me to it:)

Char, you'd have been found in the raspberries after wilting from the heat just as soon as the critters stampeded away from being scared witless. Somebody would wonder why the animals all ran away and go looking for the reason. I'll take just some common ordinary raspberry pie, thank you. And while you're up, would you mind putting a scoop of French vanilla ice cream on top? Thanks.

Cookie, I love that picture. Nothing runs like a Deere...from a Deutz. So there.

Yesterday was yet another perfect summer day in the UP. We didn't ride a lot, only over to the fairgrounds and back. We try to go to the fair on the first evening so that we can see all the flower arrangements when they're still fresh. Soooo pretty! We saw lots of people that we hardly ever get to see. DH must have been well liked by his students when he was substitute teaching because they still remember him and always stop to chat. We have to carry our helmets whenever we go anywhere because there's no place to lock them up on the bike, so we got a lot of comments from people who haven't seen us out on the bike. And the students were really surprised! They all thought it was great that the "old folks" have a Harley. We had a great time and stayed way late.

All of us sitting around a table? Omigosh! Wouldn't that make a fun video?? Of course, Char and Cookie would bring raspberry treats, and Anica would supply cookies. Come to think of it, wouldn't that be a fun thing if we all brought a sample of our very favorite specialties. Gosh. Maybe we should plan an All-Canada/Honorary Canadian virtual picnic!

Today we're off to Marquette...gotta go swill my coffee and get ready. I wish we could go on the bike. Darn:(

Good morning! Well we got good  news yesterday from the doctor treating Cameron. Ric took him back fora follow-up and he doesn't have asthma! Yeah! It was a bronchial infection and it has cleared up thanks to some strong antibiotics! I'm so glad!
Have a great day all! I'm off to work some overtime today!

    Goodmorning everyone,

Just a quick pop in this morning to say hi.  I've got Bread and Butter pickles on the go this morning.  I've got to go get my bottles sterilized.  Later on this afternoon, I've got more cukes to cut up.  I don't know if I am going to make more sweet pickles, Lady Ashburnham or mustard pickles.  I've got to look at the recipes and see if I have all the ingredients.  Dad has a bumper crop of cukes this year and is keeping me supplied.  I have only gotten 2 off my plants so far.

    Well, gotta scoot.

    Good morning everyone;

Pat; you're out the door and on the go again.  I hope your market  sells out.

Meesh; I'm so glad Cameron doesn't have asthma. What a relief.

I'm off to make a batch of my 3-fruit bran muffins for breakfast.

Dolores;  When are you leaving for S'toon?  This afternoon?  I'll be thinking of all of you there.  Enjoy and say "HI" to everyone for me.  DGS will be here in an hour for the day.  We are sure enjoying having him here this summer.

    Good morning all,

Just setting here with Munchkin. He just got up.

Last night after he went to bed, I got 1-1/2 gallons of  14 day pickles started. 've never done them before. They are supposed to be sliced, but the way our pickles are going, I had to chunk them & be glad I even had enough to do that many. I guess I'll have to buy some to make lime pickles.

After the boys go home, we'll have to dig potatoes & I have some tomatoes to can. DD picked them & put them on the kitchen table while we were gone. What the ? Don't know what happened here but I can't change it. LOL

I need to go back & see what all I missed.

Crea, I'm so glad you finally got your balcony back. Enjoy, enjoy. enjoy.

Yooper, my cousin & her husband bought Harleys too. They both got one. When they take long trips she rides behind him, otherwise she rides her own.

    Coffee Good Morning ALL!!

News flash...it's raining...or it was....it will again, soon. Does anyone have those measurements for an ark? Cookie, I could use your carpentry help on this one.

Not much going on here today. I've got a million little things to do, as we all do, so I'm off to do them. I envy you all the space and ingredients to do canning and preserving. This year's aim will be to get one of those little chest freezers.....

    Have a WONDERFUL day, all!!!

    Re: Canadian Corner 08/08/08

Good morning!  yesterday was so busy, and today is shaping up the same way, except I may be able to stay home all day, which will save me a lot of time.  Got another four batches of raspberry jam made, two freezer and two cooked.  Well, I ran out of time, and have to make the last cooked jam.  Thought I was out of pectin, found more this morning.

yesterday eveining we went to some friend's house, they want DH to build onto their existing house.  Well, Zack fell and his toe is huge, and he cried at night, it's giving him a lot of pain, don't know what I should do about it, don't want to go to the clinic, nothing you can do about a toe, right??

Found zuccini in the garden, so my chocolate zuccinin cake is half made.  I'll bake it in the BBQ, along with bread, cause I just am not getting it done at night, and I don't want to add heat to my house.  My house stays around 22-23º if I only use my stove a bit.  Actually, I find that my stove is so efficient, I could probably bake and no one would know, no heat comes from it.

Wish you were all here for our get together on my deck.  The fog is just lifting off the river, covering the mountain still.  So beautiful!  Come on down, I got room for a couple of you!
