    Ultimate Chocolate Cake

Semisweet chocolate chips add rich flavor to this moist chocolaty cake that's lower in fat. Slices of it are excellent for dessert or a snack.

This is a great recipe. I made it for company and everyone loved it. We ate it while it was still a bit warm and the chocolate chips were still oozing. Doesn't get much better than that.

Very good recipe. I have also tried it with white cake mix, vanilla pudding and white chocolate chips. Very good!

This cake is pretty to take to someone at Valentines--get some gummy hearts and insert them on the top with toothpicks. Or for Halloween, do the same with the candy pumpkins/corn

The cake is moist and delicious! I add cherry pie filling and use seven minute icing.

Instead of water and applesauce, I used orange juice and glazed the finished cake with orange marmalade. Everyone said it was the best chocolate cake they had ever eaten!

ou will probably get recipes for seven minute icing---there are several--best way to explain---a boiled icing made in a double boiler on the stove.

I first saw a recipe for this cake in Quick Cooking as a slow cooker recipe. My family loves it, and when my son got married, he wanted this for his groom's cake. That recipe was entitled, "Triple Chocolate Mess," and I believe had oil in it instead of applesauce.

Hi your recipe for the Ultimate chocolate cake call for 2 eggs and 1/2 cup of egg substitute, so in reality is it 4 eggs in all, if I chose not to use the substitute?

Hello...I was curious about the use of egg substitute for the Ultimate chocolate cake .  How many eggs would you use if using all whole eggs instead of 2 egss and 1/2 cup substitute?

1/4 cup of egg substitute equals one egg.
