Dear Sister Brooke; Thank you for the Holloween box that came today (Sat.) I had took my mom to town to help her with getting groceries then we all got ready and went to the dirt track tonight. So I have just got home with dirt all over me, but it was fun.

She sent a halloween funetti cake mix and the funetti frosting, my grandson already put in a order for some cupcakes. There was a pack of fall recipe cards which will come in handy. A pair of orange & black cozy socks (cute). Two halloween kitchen towels, these will come in handy. I must have mentioned that I love sunflower seeds and flavored coffee creamer because she sent me a big bag of seeds which I took to the races tonight. I will be trying the cinnamon vanilla creme coffee creamer in the morning. It will be my first time to try this flavor. The pumpkin card is cute too.

This month has been busy, & the answers for the questions is, I do have 3 grown sons and one grandson. Your question about my favorite food is a hard one. I like any kind of food, but during the garden season my favorite meal is pintos, corn on the cob, fried potatoes, fried orka, cornbread, & tomatoes.  Here's your 2 questions----Are you an outgoing person, or a quiet type?  and what kind of tv shows do you like?

Sweet sometimes…..I am SO sorry! When your package was delivered they left it on the front porch under the eve, which is something one driver does, but someone put something on top of the package ~ I have two wicker rockers sitting by the front door (by the way…living in Oklahoma we have huge eves, so my friends tell me, *grin*) so everything is safe and dry but when one of my family set something on the chair/chairs it covers what’s under it.

I wanted to put some finishing touches on my outside Halloween decorations some twinkling orange and purple icicle lights would work....I head out the front door….maybe the ONLY reason I found the package is due to my shear laziness! *not kidding one bit*

I didn’t want to walk back into the house for the step stool (yes, I’m short) to put up the one troublesome part of the lights….I went to do something I’d flog someone else for (stepping in my chair) I found your package!

    Thank you, thank you!

I received the neatest chip clip, pink ~ for breast cancer survivors (Mother is one) so it means tons to me and I can use this so much ~ I don’t even own a chip clip and they do eat a lot of chips here, thank you so much for the pink and clip.

Some too cute Halloween straws….you HAVE to know DGS took that home with him along with the super cuter napkins that had bats and BOO on them…totally all boys on that one. *smiles*

**he said to tell you thank you very much**

    A very cute kitchen magnet

”handover the chocolate and on one will get hurt" ~ very cute!

A book I find very interesting…it’s Candy Cane Murder ~ oh, I do love murder mysteries and anything to do with serial killers, I just find the mindset very fascinating. I think it’s because when I was young we were near, very near, like next to the murders (In Cold Blood) yep, that’s it…it was all there fault. *just kidding*

A Fix-it and Forget-It slow-cooker magic cookbook and Italian country pork is first on my list to try~! You must be reading how much I do cook and I just adore this cookbook….hugging your neck and kissing your face. *very big grin*

I also received the very best Wilton Ghost and Pumpkins mini pans and the neatest Jumbo Leaves sprinkles (love this) DGS went right to the pantry to find something “we” could make in this tomorrow…I do love the holidays and this is so great ~ I don’t have a thing like it and I’m doing a *happy chicken dance* over this perfect addition to my Halloween collection, just perfect, thank you ever so much!

Your card was so sweet and very cute, thank you for everything….and I’ll try to answer your questions tomorrow ~ DH had a fire call….I need to check on him.

Big hugs, thank you hugs, and sister hugs….you made my day, thank you, LindaChicken

    Good morning (((((Tink)))))

I got your card on Friday but had my dgs since then and it's hard to get on the computer with him here.  I was thinking about you and didn't want you to get worried that I didn't get it.

It's good to hear from you and the message on the card was sweet.  It's nice to be thought about, and prayed for.  You asked if I was having a good day.  It was great as I had dgs and I also had Bunco that night.  I was the hostess and loved decorating with a Halloween theme.  I'm the only one in the group that decorates.  I served chili and cheese dip/black chips.  The only bad thing was I didn't win.  I haven't won in months.....probably this whole year.  Something has got to change!

I hope you are doing well.  Love and good wishes to you and prayers being sent up for you.  Thanks again for the smiles.

    Hugs, CJ

    ooooo, Happy Halloween to me!
BOO~did I scare you? I just loved the card and thanks to you, my table will be adorned with the delightful pumpkin plate. I also love the  foil pumpkin cake tins with covers~how perfect for traveling and storing candies or cake.   I may make a pumpkin cake in them and use the pumpkin sprinkles~These are just perfect! I have some little candies in the batty bucket on the table and the pumpkin napkins are right beside it....
The magnetic list pad is on my desk drawer-I have an old metal corner desk and things get very cluttered(surprise, huh? lol) and these stick to the drawer~again, how perfect!
I haven't opened the glow sticks yet~I am thinking what I can do with the grandkids with them for a fun night walk or something. With this crazy DST we are on and the time doesn't change until November sometime, it seems like it is always dark! UGH

Thank you for everything~you brightened my mood as I came home from work so tired and it was fun opening your gift to me.  My back is so much better~it has been about 7 weeks since the tumble and I have only a muscle or two that just doesn't want to give me any peace! The severe pain is gone~PTL!
All of the SS remain in my prayers and always special prayers and HUGS to my own two special Secret Sisters!
    Thanks again~Sister HUGS, Linda

    Hi SS,

It was so nice of you to remember me with a card today.

It is nice to know someone is thinking of you and I appreciate it alot!

You mentioned that you are glad I like black bears because I am to wait and see what is coming!  Oh, you have my interest peaked now! lol BTW, my black bear clock is sitting on my end table for all to see and my black bears with the hive that lights up is on my entertainment center for all to see also!

I know it has to have something to do with black bears and I can't wait until I see what  it is.  Perhaps a real one? lolol

Thank you again for being so sweet and thoughtful and thinking of me.

    Big Hugs,

    Nancy

After coming home from 'work' today, I found a beautiful bouquet of flowers from my SS . . . in the form of a postcard!  I'm going to put that right above my computer screen, and I'll think of you every time I see them (which will be every time I sit at the computer)!!  THANK YOU!!

And Sis?  I have absolutely NO CLUE what you found!!  Are you going to tell me?  (I'm thinking maybe some more puzzle pieces, but who knows!)

     Dear Sister Houston,

We have a family down the roadthat makes sheep cheese ( I haven't been over to see it yet ) inside the box was

From the Closer, Saving Grace  A opener ,a bag to hold 2 bottles of wine and some beaded glass rings. 2 Granola Bites (chocolate ) 1 pack of cheese Nips ,A music CD-R Worship by Michael W Smith  ( I love it ) and some candy because it October she said Peanut Roca ,Brachs mellowcreme pumpkins and some Hershey's Kisses Strawberry Dark chocolate.

Very Cool Sis!  Thank you so muchBig Smile Think I'll sport those socks to work tomorrow!  Lately I've taken to wearing less than traditional socks.  I think the rebel in me is showing (literally - at the ankles!Devil)  Your notes are so refreshing - they brighten my day, and remind me of what a special person you are.  To answer your question - we don't really decorate much for halloween.  When the kids were little, I looked forward to making their costume, and they enjoyed going out T or T'ing with DH.  They never ate their candy - I think they just looked forward to going out with DH and showing off the costume.  I believe that Halloween has become way too commercialized, and don't really hold with the ghosts, goblins and spirits thing.  Thanksgiving and Christmas are more my speed.  I'm not offended by Halloween stuff, just don't go out of my way for it.  I'm working on getting those recipes posted.  They certainly were yummy - especially the potatoes, and...the ribs...and the pie!  I know what you mean about joint discomfort with weather change.  You have my sympathies, and my prayers!  Please take care of yourself!

THE BLUE FAIRY STRIKES AGAIN!    Thank YOU!

After a long day at work, a meeting at 5:30 PM and then one at 7 PM, I arrived home at 9:30 PM with a lovely box from the Blue Fairy.

It's a great box, commemorating Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  Yes, I am honoring this month by participating in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure this Sunday at City Park in New Orleans.  I have a cousin, that celebrates her birthday in October.   Anywho, a bunch of us, about 20 or so, have a Girl's Nite or Day out to dedicated to Cancer Awareness in celebration of her BDay; whether it be breast, lung or colon (her father died of colon cancer and my mom of lung cancer).  This year it's the Race for the Cure.  Please pray for me that I don't pass out.  Remember, exercise is not in my routine.

Anywho my box came complete with some Shower Gels & Body Lotions sponsored by the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Pink Ribbon hankies, pink aloe socks, a pink ribbon lapel pin, a precious book about an angel named Angeline, and a seek and find puzzle.  I've got the socks on already, after a foot treatment.  They feel sooooo good.

She asked if I like to decorate for the Halloween.  Well, I do just what you do.  I decorate for the fall that way I can use them for October and November with a few Halloween things thrown in.  I have this one pumpkin that has a jackolatern face and I turn it around after halloween for the fall season.

My immediate family gets together for Thanksgiving serving Thanksgiving Lunch to shut ins and those whho would be alone on Thanksgiving Day and then we will go to my DD's for Dinner.  For Christmas, we get together with my siblings, my daddy will be here - it's gonna be a tough one - our first Christmas without Mom and Christmas was her most favorite holiday because no matter what all of us get together for Christmas (there are six of us).  Having family together for the holidays was the most important thing to her.

I love to decorate for the holidays!  I just hate taking it all down.

Unfortunately, I don't do a lot of baking (we leave that to sister number 3-she's good at it).  I would love to start a tradition with my girls to have a Saturday of doing all our baking (maybe I'll start it this year).  I never have been big on baking during the holidays because I've always been involved in shopping for 10 needy kids (that keeps my holiday BUSY).  This year, I am on the board of St. Tammany Project Christmas; an organization that provides families in need of assistance during the Christmas holidays a good Christmas, complete with gifts for the children and Sr. Citizens and a food basket for the family.  We anticipate about 600 - 800 families this year.

I've chatted too much.  Again, thank you Blue Fairy!

    Blessings, Rochell

    Autumn,

Thank you so much for the beautiful post card. I have never been to Utah and the picture is stunning.

Makes you want to take a deep breathe and smell the autumn air. I go out to the forestry here every year and take pictures. I will have to send some when we go. You can see into Kentucky from this one spot. So beautiful. I wish it could be Autumn all year long.

One thing I really miss about my teenage girly figure was wearing sweaters in the fall. That is the thing I miss most,

    about being thin.lol

I have been knitting a sweater for my second to the youngest in fall colors and wishing ever so much I was thin,

and could wear one without looking like the Michilin tire man.

I look forward to your post cards, notes and packages. I am so glad you think of us. Looking forward to knowing who you. I have some guesses...But I'm not researching anything to try and figure it out.

    Take care,

    Rebecca Lee
