    10/06/08CS's Chat

    •  Glad ya’ll like our new travel trailer.  We figured it would be nice for Bob’s fishing trips since one of the places he goes locally is in a state park on Mobile Bay and they do have camping plus down on the Gulf also has nearby camping. In fact between Florida, Mississippi, and Alabama there are 5-6 state parks with camping and fishing in a 2-3 hour radius.   Then when he gets vacation we can travel somewhere.

    • Today is Mad Hatter Day.  It’s a great day to be silly and celebrate silliness.

    • The Mad Hatter is a fictional cartoon character depicted in Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. The Mad Hatter is always acting silly. So, on Mad Hatter Day, it is only fair and fitting to act a little silly yourself.

    • Despite being a silly day, the selection of the date was actually quite logical. The Mad Hatter wears a top hat. On the front of the hat is a slip of paper with "10/6" written on it. The paper is believed to be an order to make the hat, and that it costs ten shillings sixpence.

    • Grab yourself a top hat, and have a a very silly Mad Hatter's Day!

    • Thought for the Day- Life is no brief candle to me. It is sort of a splendid torch. Handing it on to future generations.-Shaw

    • Special hugs and prayers for Betty, Merle, Gat and Jeanette, Mabel and Floyd, Roberta, Ruth, and Anne.

    • Remember the group prayer! “Heavenly Father, we ask that you watch over and care for all Cookin’ Seniors and those they love as they go about their day!!”

    •  Bob does have two days off tomorrow Tuesday.  Then works 2 and has 3days off again.  In fact his schedule for the rest of Oct is really good unless someone quits, but hopefully that will not happen!!

    • JP-got your email but have had problems sending all day. Hope tomorrow Gulftel will straight out at least my mail!

    • Cats-your outfit for the reunion sounds super!

    • NancyB-Maybe he can stop here and do a little something. Bob sure could use the help!! LOL

    • Rosie-Great photo of Scott and his cake.  Give him a big hug!! And yes the table does make a dog bed!! Tell Daisy paws off the big bed!! We got dibs on it!!

    • Penny-Sounds like you had an experience you will never forget!! What a wonderful DD for making it possible!!

    • Randi-Thanks but no thanks for the trailer offer!! :)  I don’t think there has been any problems with the new fridges.   At least there hasn’t been any mention on the Tab/Tada board!!

    • Ruth-Some renters leave such distraction. It is such a shame.

    • Helen-The trailer is the same brand but a little bigger version.  And it has a bathroom.  Small but a bathroom.

    • Now I am off to bed!!

    • Hugs and prayers for all!

Hope everyone this side of the pond is asleep by now and for those across the pond...have a great day.

In case I don't get back, wishing you all a productive day, once you've had your coffee. I have a meeting and need to get some other stuff done, so may not get back in time.

It rained Sunday, so farmers won't be harvesting today or tomorrow. We're gearing up for a cooler week and wet snow for the thanksgiving weekend. Our Thanksgiving is October 13 here in Canada.

    Good Morning Friends

It's a lovely cool fall morning here in the Bluegrass State!

Camping is over for the year.  *great big frown*  My friends have returned to Florida for the winter.  *another frown*

Seeing new faces in here!  *smile*  Guess I'd better grab a chair and get acquainted!  Hoping to be here on a regular basis this winter! I'm totally lost as to what is going on with who, lots of catch-up to do!

I'll be babysitting Tanner 3 days this week! Looking forward to that! Carol and the two older kids have gone to New Orleans on a mission trip with their church.

Wishing you ALL a #10 day!

    Love & hugs,

    Say less than you know,
    Own more than you show,
    Pay as you go,
Praise God from whom all blessings flow!!

Madagascar--Another bizarre snake is the spear-nosed snake, Langaha madagascariensis, which mimics a twig with its unusual nasal appendage.
    ----------------------------------------
Condensation, from last nights cooling rain shower, drips steadily from the eaves to plop loudly on the sidewalk. High overhead, stars twinkle brightly against the dark sky. A dark smear of jagged clouds stretches across the horizon.

Must decide on weather or not to take a dog to the pound. While unloading groceries yesterday, a small dog came running across my yard, hunching down in the submissive position, it's bobbed tail trying to tuck between it's legs. I picked it up to discover I had a grown, female Jack Russell in my arms. White with brown tail, brown on top of head, ears and the brown spread down to cover one side of her face. Cute, very friendly and an obvious house dog. Crate trained and "loves" to lay on her back for belly rubs. No collar and the couple of nearby neighbors I made inquires of had not seen her before.

To top that experience--when I carried my trash to the dumpster, I noticed a 5-gallon paint bucket in the dumpster. Had been set up-right and to my saddened eyes it contained a pink baby blanket and a dead puppy about 5-6 weeks of age.

Rosie--Scott is a good looking young man. Great job on the cake. Where did he get the Texas cake pan?

    Top of the morning

It’s been a drizzly damp couple of days here. I've been playing around with Word to make it allow me to cut and paste like I used to. Grrrrr.

I did learn something new yesterday when my son in CO. called and walked me through the site they are "ON". All three of our children are on there and it's by invitation only so safer than most. They have been bugging me to sign up so I can see all the "chat" that goes on between them plus view tons of photos that my son and DIL in Denver have posted.  It's really fun.

ZORA~ That camper is going to be wonderful for both of you, but especially Bob on his fishing trips.

Besides ANNE, LOIS, GAT and you are there any more campers in our group?

RANDI, you got rid of your, right?

((SANDY))  Have you considered that you are allergic to mold? This is one of the worst times of year for me. I had to break down and start using a filtered mask in my fall gardening. I had a major attack while digging around in the "old" plants and couldn't breath and that did it for me. I also had to break down and go sign for some psudophedric (sp?) at  WM. I was so upset when they took it off the market!!!  I actually found something that worked and then they ruined it.

I too hope we here from GRACE soon.

MARGARET E~~ What crafts do you do?  Does the group do a variety of things, each person bringing their own material?  What do you do with it after it's done?

JP~~ Have a good time at your meeting and wishing you a productive day on your other jobs.

Oh noooooo, not snow already.  I know it seems as though GRACE was under snow most of the year in her part of Canada.

I also miss LYNNE and sure do hope all is okay with her.

CILLA~~ Have a good time at the fair.

ANNE~~SOOOOOO good to see you. Have fun with the little kiddo.

Gotta run, DGD is coming and coffee cup is empty.

    Tippy

I missed the photo of Scott! Must go back and dig through posts.

Tomorrow morning Sir Pounce goes to the vet to have some "snipping" and tucking done.

I feel bad about doing that to him but know it's got to be done. I cannot believe how much this FREE cat is costing us. LOL

Punchinello laughed, "Me, special? Why? I can't walk fast. I can't jump, My paint is peeling, Why do I matter to you?"

Eli...spoke very slowly, "Because you're mine, That's why you matter to me."

Good Morning, All!  Well, if benefits has its way this is my last week off from work and last 2 or 3 times of therapy.  Hopefully the Dr will win out.  The incision is not completely healed, my knee/leg is still warm to touch, and still not approved to drive.  Didn't sleep all that good last night.  Some nights I'll sleep real good without percocet and others not.  Didn't take a percocet last night - guess I should have gotten up for one.   Sometime just have so much problems just trying to get comfortable in bed.   I go back to the Dr Oct 15.

Will try to get some more crocheting done today.  Y'all have a good one.  Hugs and Prayers for All, Roberta :D

Why don't you see if the travel trailer would like to come to my place?  You can fish in front of my house 'n everything.

My son just left and when I came back in there was a beautiful card from him on the counter.  I can hardly believe my luck in having such a wonderful son.  He does so much but gets more tense if he doesn't have something to do.  When he sleeps, he dies, so restores his energy.  It was wonderful to return to Fla and have nothing to do settling in by myself.  I am a real couch potato!  Today I am going to do as little as possible - still feel some jet lag (well, I have to have some excuse!)

It is nice to get back into shorts again!  Chilly weather and I are not compatable!  I got out of Ill at just the right time - in 3 sweaters!  Nancy B

    Re: 10/06/08CS's Chat

Good morning all,  Am going to try and get back on a normal schedule starting today.

Zora, I love your camper!   Was wondering about the bathroom.  We loved camping and did every weekend Palm Sun. weekend til the weekend after Thanksgiving for years, then lived in it for almost two years.  Shall we say that we got our money out of that Skamper pop-up?   Now I don't think I could do it without the inhouse bathroom, that block walk in the middle of the nite is not for me any more.  Maybe one day I'll buy one for myself.

Rosie, you do have one good looking son! and that cakes not so bad either.

Anne, good to see you back altho I know you will miss the camping and your friends.

Tippy and Sandy, I'm with you and the alergies this time of year.

Well, I'm off to do some more shredding.  think I just may take a run to town and get a bigger and better shredded.  The one I've got takes on sheet at a time and must cool down after about ten.  It will take me forever to get thru Norm's file cabinet.  He has copies of all the taxes he has done for the past 45 years!   I'm keeping our personal ones and the last seven years of customers, but the rest are going!

    Take care all.  Pat

Good afternoon from Indiana, it's 70 out there, possibility of rain by Wed. we really need it.

The guys are out in our fields today combining our beans, the dust is thick, glad I'm not out there in it.

Have a dear friend that just called me from Dallas, she's from here but out there on vacation, says it's raining, will be back next week, miss her when she's gone.

Talked to DD yesterday, she was as tired as I was from our trip on Sat., said she didn't get up till noon........LOL!  My DD is the best...........I'll always remember that time.

Have balanced a checkbook, wrote checks & talked to the guys in the field, had to tell them where to truck the beans......DH job........but he's not here.......grrrrrr.  Also just got the garage swept.

Laid out some chicken for my dinner, will fix chicken & rice.  Went to town yesterday for some broasted chicken & taters for my dinner, didn't feel like cooking........too tired!

Rosie..........your Scott is one handsome fella, the cake looks good also.

Hope everyone has a great day.

    Good Afternoon,

I was busy all morning,  Had a funeral to go to then the luncheon afterwards.  The church was so cold I thought I would turn blue.  Why businesses think they have to have it so cold I don't know.  Just because it's 90 degrees outside doesnt' mean we can't have it like 70 inside.

When we got home we decided to take my laptop down to Best Buy as I had gotten a trojan horse virus warning.  Luckily I had quaranteened it so no damage but couldn't get it out of there and it slowed the whole computer down.

While at the luncheon someone had made Coconut Crunch Cookies from the last TOH and are they ever good.  I came home and found the recipe and will make them tomorrow.  How's that for giving a review before making them LOL  To tired to make them today.

Now I think I will go take a nap.  I didn't sleep good last nite as I didn't feel good, not sick, just didn't feel good.

    Waving to all.
