some stores sell gluten free bread in the freezer case and if the store is large they could have a large selection of gluten free products including frozen dinners. The store I shop at now sells frozen GF doughnuts including all the other products. Have him check health food stores too and there are a number of web sites he can order from.

Gluten also hides in products like orange soda, so he might have to start calling manufacturers to ask if their products are GF.

I shop at Paradise Health. They sell a wide variety of gluten free cookies, crackers, and flours.

My 7-year-old daughter is also recently diagnosed (about a month.) She will not even try the breads that are available and she is NOT a picky eater. She does enjoy crackers, though, and I found some great ones at Sam's club. The gluten-free wraps I've found have been gross and ended up in our garbage.

I am a long time Celiac and sad to admit, a picky eater myself. I highly recommend Tinkyada pasta. You have to make it up as you need it because it hardens, but it tastes the most like regular pasta. I find other pastas just turn to must. Vans makes good Ego like waffles that are either plain, blueberry or apple cinnamon. I buy Glutino crackers because I don't like wheat thin type. I now only buy Whole Foods Bakery sandwich bread. They have a fabulous GF bakery and I don't have the time to make my own anymore. I love Kinnikinnick baked goods as well. They make hamburger and hot dog buns, their own breads, cinnamon rolls, cookies, etc. They can be purchased online, in chain stores like Whole Foods and EarthFare and I can even find products in our little, independent health food stores. Lots of meats are GF so that shouldn't be an issue. I buy regular peanut butter, spaghetti sauce (Prego/Ragu), pizza sauce (Ragu), syrup (Log Cabin), Heinz ketchup. Companies are so much better about gluten now than they were even a few years ago. Pamela's has a great brownie mix....I don't care for their bread mix, but know people who like it. I can't think of the name, but there are 3 or 4 brands of GF chicken and fish tenders/nuggets that I don't like but kids usually do. I tend to make my own fried chicken since I'm so picky. I hope that information helps. I can also purchase a lot of items (like Vans, Pamela's, Cherry Brook Farms) at my grocery stores (Harris Teeter, Kroger, Albertsons, Lowes). Please let me know if you need any other suggestions!
