Secret Service blames Palin for spike in death threats on Obama

Michelle Obama, the future First Lady, was so upset that she turned to her friend and campaign adviser Valerie Jarrett and said: "Why would they try to make people hate us?"

According to the article, McCain did not clear Palin's attacks, she "took it upon herself to question Mr Obama's patriotism", and incited her supporters who were yelling "terrorist" and "kill him", until the McCain campaign became aware of the damage and "ordered her to tone down the rhetoric".

What's even worse, they expect "to uncover many more plots to attack the president that have been hatched by white supremacist ideologues."

You know, I don't give a damn about this woman's stupid wardrobe. I don't -- much -- care that she couldn't pass a 5^th grade geography test, an open book history quiz, or a middle school science exam, however, what she tried to do to Obama was not only dangerously irresponsible, but pure evil.

I agree that it was dangerously irresponsible, but she did was she was brought on to do.  That ugly rhetoric would whip up the party base in a way that John McCain was simply unwilling to do.  She was a willing pawn.  There is a lot of blahblahblah about the party being frustrated with her so often going off-script, off message, to which I say "Bullshit!!!!"  There is no way she would have been allowed to run off as often as she did if the party leaders didn't want her to do exactly that.  

There are always going to be crazy people who have evil things on their minds. I don't think this is all Sarah Palin's doing.

I wonder if those people threatening President-elect Obama's life have considered how horrible that would be for our country. They themselves are guilty of the kind of unpatriotic terrorism which they are so upset about.

The majority of voters voted for Obama and we are looking forward to seeing him sworn in as our next president. I like the Obama family and I can't wait until January when they move into the White House. They have my best wishes.

 I agree with SOF. it was the grey men behind the curtain pulling the strings. 

the more he talks, the better i like Obama. he just sounds so calm and in control. he does things in a thoughtful manner, weighing all options.

it seems to me the world is in a better place now.

get real nitewind...how much of a thick skin can you develope when someone is sending DEATH THREATS to you and your family.

oh, i agree with that. i'm sure they all will. they'll be living in a fishbowl now. i hope the kids will tough it out. they already have secret service code names. 

on another note, i believe that GWB had maybe one formal state dinner, or something like that, during his entire administration. only got all dressed up and put on the dog once. was it for Queen Elizabeth, maybe? 

anyway, i think Obama and the first family will do more formal affairs. i'm looking forward to the transition.

Can you imagine how frightened you would be if the political candidate of the opposing party of your choice were to have the past acquaintences, political and business cohorts plus a religious leader the ilk of Rev. Wright?  All Palin did was try to make you realize the shadow of doubt about this man's worthiness to be our precious country's leader. 

If the Dems had stuff on Palin equal to the ugly past that Obama has, you would crucify her.  And if you were honest, you would admit it freely. 

Go ahead, blame it on Palin for everything that goes wrong or went wrong.  I can see that it makes you feel better.  I find it pathetic.

So you're saying that pointing out Palin's ignorance and mocking her wardrobe extravaganza, is equivalent to death threats against the President elect, his wife, and their two little girls?

Seriously, I can't even imagine what goes on in the mind of the monsters who think about such violence. Yet here you are, defending and excusing something as heinous as the assassination of the president, and the murder of his two innocent children and their mother.

You do have a way of changing someone's words, don't you? Where did I say that I defend the assassination of Obama? What normal person would defend killing his wife and children? How dare you even imply such a thing? My mental prosesses are just fine. I really can't stand people like you who love to read things into another persons comments.

Just because I don't use your big words and claim to know everything about everything and I don't worship at the LP altar, do not even begin to suggest that I would defend such a terrible thing. What the hell is wrong with you?
