    Hi Rosies!

It's cold here.  I turned on the furnace to warm up the house.  DH didn't get a fire going and I've got visitors coming soon, so need to have some warmth.  Going to babysit Hayden tonight.  Hoping he's done with the throwing up.  I know he and his mommy both still had a little of it yesterday.

We went out to dinner last night (Gustav's, Pat) to celebrate.  DH has finished all of his training courses at work and scored an 86 on the last test.  Passing grade is a 70.  He's been doing these courses literally for years (every has to) and we're so happy it's finally over.

Amy, will the doctor recommend physical therapy after the splint comes off?  I did that and at first thought it was silly, but it really was beneficial.  My biggest problem with cooking was I couldn't chop anything.  We did a lot of heat and eat stuff too.

Off to get busy.  Hugs to all.  Have a great Friday!~~~Laura

Some days, I can literally see the testosterone floating in the air around here.

Can't stay on long. Just wanted to check in and say hello Rose Buddies. Went out on a date last night with dh. Food was awful, but the company was good!!! First time in a looooong time.

Went to Hobby Lobby to exchange some yarn then to CPS to sign some more papers, but my tire went flat, my phone was dead! Zip it! But I went into a beauty Salon and called dh. While I waited for him to come I had the most fun talking with the ladies there. They were so kind, gave baby some cheetas. Talked about crotcheting intimate items. It was a hoot! But now I have got to do some major cleaning, get dinner going. So I hope to catch up this weekend on the posts.

PS- Hobby Lobby had 80% fall decor! cha ching!

STRAWBERRY ANGEL FOOD COOKIE REVIEW! : )

Well my cookies are done, and they ARE yummy! The dough was the consistency of taffy and was pretty hard for my weakling hand mixer to do it's job. It just kept wanting to bounce over the blob! LOL  Luckily it just has to beat for a minute.

The cookies do NOT come out the same bright pink color in the picture.  I could only find a regular white angel food cake mix, which is what I assumed the recipe meant.  Even with the strawberry jam mixed in it was a very very pale barely-pink.  No matter to me, I'm not crazy about artificial colors anyway.  But I would like to know how THEY got them so pink!  LOL

Very yummy and light and airy.  I would recommend!

    Hi Diana!

P.S.   An hour later, as I guess they got completely cooled, the cookies have gotten way more crunchy.

Re: The Rose Room *** Friday Nov. 21st

Maizey- My your an early bird! Man that stinks about the freezer. I'll grab a spoon and help you out!

Fluffy- How are things going for you?

Pat-My dh said he saw it for $1.69 today. Is that not unreal how much of a change there is!!!!!! Congrats on the bunko win.

dobostorta- I think it's still cheaper here when you convert liters to gallons.

Pip- OWwwwww. Hope it's not toooo painful for you. Mine is just begun. I said I wanted to make most of my gifts. There is still time. But very little. It's harder to get done than I thought it would be.It puts me more in the spirit of things if I can make things. But it sure is hard to try to paint, with two boys pulling on your skirt! Those cookies do look good. I will have to make some of those. They look like they would be pretty for Christmas. Also, I to like practical things for Christmas. I asked for cookie sheets for like 3 years in a row back in the day when we were dirt poor. Family would give me things they thought would be the little extra's I wouldn't buy myself. Sweet sentiment. But man....I needed cookie sheets, baking pans etc. When I did get a little money up, I went out and bought myself some cookie sheets. The wait though made me really appreciate them. One day I went over to my MIL home and she had 1 cookie sheet. It was beat up to smitherings. I wasn't trying to be tacky, just made a remark that it's kind of seen it's better days. She stated yup, but I can't find another stainless steel cookie sheet. I remembered how I felt! You should have seen the joy on her face when I brought her some new stainless steel cookies sheets. You would have thought it was a mink coat I was giving her!

Greenback- I hope you have a great Thanksgiving too.

Dori- We have a new Kohl's by us. I haven't even gone yet. I guess I will have to check it out now that you and Pip  have mentioned it. Laundry has a big mouth in my house, it never shuts up!

Cook and bottle- How many of your gifts did you make this year? Had a few set backs on the one I am working on, just have to try a different way. Still do able. Oh I guess my last post was a little confusing. My tire didn't go flat on our date, thank God because it was freezing cold last night. It happened during the day today. It's still parked over at the Salon. I thought about bringing the beautician a ball of red yarn and fuzzy white yarn! I thought she would get a kick out of it, and she was so very nice to us.

4boys- So glad the test are over for dh and glad he did well.

Ellie- Your baby is adorable. I love the 1 ear up and 1 ear down! Thanks for sharing about the cookies. At Christmas though I think I would really like the brighter color. I will try them with cake decorators icing  coloring and see how it goes. But probably not until closer to christmas.

Jeanne if you end up visiting the garden tonight just wanted you to know I said Howdy! Wondering what kind of things you ebay for. I ebay too. I have found all sorts of craft items on there. I have a friend that purchased a bunch of old siler tea pot sets that we were making windchimes out of. I thought it was pretty neat. But I haven't had a lot of opportunities to get with her, because it has to be without my kiddos with her. I think our friendship is going by the way side because of it. But I kind of am a group package now. If I do have a free few hours, most important to me would be to spend it with my dh. Also dh and I had a chat about the toxics. We may just have to totally cut them out of our lives. I hate on one side to do that to people, but we really have to think about what's good for the boys. It's a hard thing to figure out which way to go with things. Much prayer needed.

    Well, good night Roses,

    Rebecca Lee
