Good Morning and Happy Thanksgiving Dear Friends in Tea Nov 27th

Good Morning Dear friends in Tea. Family, friends, luscious foods to grace the table, travel, parades, games and good fun...Happy Thanksgiving to all the wonderful Tea Angels and their families!

It is in the quiet of the morning, when the snow frosted trees begin their sway and the creatures of the forest stir that I am filled with such a spirit of contentment. As the moments pass by like hellium balloons, each one takes a seat in front of me and I think right then, that is the most wonderful...no, this is the most wonderful, no that, or this.

To be grateful is truly the very best, most wonderful, singing, shining ,pleasant ,peaceful, joyfilled, interesting, awesome blessing that could ever be.

As one lives in that manner, gathering life in, the rest just falls away.

But, what of hurt, loss, anxiety, anger and the itch for more than one has? Today those things are just....packing peanuts. That bit of fluff that gets thrown away so the present is held close. As long as one has breath there will be goof ups.

Let's not be party to that mess today.

Make tea, serve others and use your best manners. Simple.

YOur very grateful hostess and friend, Mary

A very happy Thanksgiving Day to each and everyone of my special friends in tea.  Here's wishing you lots of love and laughter and good food.  May your day be filled with lots of sunshine and remember to share smiles and belly laughs with others.

I'm deciding if I'm going to warm up my seafood chowder from dinner last night or if I'm going to save my hunger for Thanksgiving dinner!

I am doing a "first" for me this holiday. I am alone and it is so weird to know all my family is together and I am alone. I woke up very sick yesterday morning and feel I need to stay away from everyone.  I hope you all have a blessed day and enjoy every day that you are given.

    Hello tea Friends!!!

I relized this morning that I have so much to be thankful for, and wanted to know if I was still welcome here in the Tea Room...I have missed the early morning writing's and a lot of the going and comming of all..

Sorry I have been gone so long, DH has been in and out of the hospital and lots of tests and Dr, visits..   One thing we know is that he does not have a  tumor in his brain.. Still has a big problem of getting dizzy and passing out at any time so that means no driving by his self, no being alone.... Some days I am just dog tired..  Some days I never get out of my jammies...I think that I have been depressed and didn't know it till a light came on this morning...I was talking to God and I guess the light switch was turned on..I have often found solace in the out doors or just sitting with DH....   We tend to spend a lot of time together.. But I realize that we are so blessed or that I am because I still have him...    My legs have gotten much better that I no longer need my skin colored tights to help me make it thought the day..and my Sugar is also much better, most of the time around 100 which is considered good...

The Little Man has been a constant joy to my life...He is growing into a carbon copy of DH...    The same likes and dislikes some times it is funny...He has been making the Honor roll and was on the Football team, little team....

For all of the Tea Angels I wish for picture perfect weather and good traveling....   I hope that you  have a wonderful day filled with family and friends..and lots of turkey...We just had a quiet time and having some friends over later for pie and coffee..  It is cold here along the river with no snow...  just a little sun earlier in the day..which is getting dark so early...Well I will close out of here for now.. There is a plate of assorted mini muffins on the table so pour a cup of tea and join me...    Love to all of you!!!

Good Morning Dear Friends in Tea. Today's Tea Party is dedicated to Angels....all of them. Bells ring when Angels sing and that is no small thing in the Tea Room. Welcome to all of the Tea Angels that just make the most wonderful celebrations! No matter where you wander or where life sweeps you away to....this is your place and your chair and special tea cup are always right where you set them. How lovely is the view from every single window. The season's change but friendship never does.

Yesterday's Farmhouse feast from Bob Evans turned out so well, I am going to arrange it again! The quality of the food and ease of preparation made me a successful hostess and I am grateful. I added a couple of side items including our family favorite crab salad and cole slaw. My thimble sized chocolate mousse filled cups were a huge hit.

My Russian nested doll table design included my Old Country Roses china, my Great Grandmothers Haviland and Friendly Village pieces with gold silverware? The centerpiece that held bare black branches with my folded paper cranes was an ohhh and an ahhh. I served Harney and Sons Holiday Blend Tea and had to write the name and webpage down more than once so buy that tea with confidence.

Dear Katts, I have welcome tears in my eyes. You don't have to ask to be welcome, we were just hoping you would come! God bless you and DH, every moment. I am truly wondering.....has DH seen a neuroenterologist? That is a special ear nose and throat dr that diagnoses inner ear disorders....like the one that makes me dizzy and pass out.

It is a very feary thing to experience not only for the person with it, but, for anyone who watches helplessly. Ongoing dizziness is a very strange thing, when it doesn't stop for extended periods of time...you forget that's the problem. Reguardless of the cause of DH illness I am sending you both my prayers and sympathetic understanding.

I am delighted that your legs are better! That is such good news, we should dance.

Dear Kathy, Please mount the convertible in full Queen regalia and let us cheer and wave! Maybe we can expand the stepstool and all stand up on it with you and wave like crazy.

Dear Carole, I know the holiday with all your family gathered around was spectacular. Did you save me just a little slice of derby pie?

Dear Shirley, Perhaps today you will feel much improvement and be able to enjoy yourself completely. Sometimes....being alone is just what you need to gather your strength and spirit. I would do anything to make you feel better!

Dear Susan, Your warmth and strength in all you do is like countless glowing candles...all shedding such a pretty light! God bless you and Marcella.

Dear Kay, I hope your decorating is inspiring your health and your smile.

I am raising my cup to one and all of us...to this morning and our day ahead, may Angels give us shelter under wings of gossimer and peace. Your very grateful hostess and friend, Mary

     Mornin' Tea Angels!

Well, another Thanksgiving feast has turned into leftovers that will continue to satisfy even the most fickle of appetites! Though our time with my folks and my oldest brother and his wife was uneventful, it was certainly a good day. It's been so long since I actually had a chance to visit with my brother and SIL without at least one of the kids around and I realized that I really did miss that! Even though the kids are now adults, they always seem to bring such liveliness and fun to any gathering! Anyway..........................when we got to my folks, my second niece was on the phone and so I got to talk with her a bit. THAT was truly WONDERFUL!!! I miss Maria sooooooo much!!! And Kristi!!!! And Sr. Theresa Anne!!!! And Jacinta!!!! lol Didn't actually realize how much until yesterday. After our big meal we got to enjoy pictures of a recent trip my brother made where they got to spend time with each of their girls!! One is in Cupertino, CA with Regnum Christi, one is in Atlanta, GA with Regnum Christi, one had just completed her student teaching in IN and is now back in Nashville, TN and will be working in the Mother House of the  Dominican Sisters until she gets assigned a teaching position at one of their schools! It'll be interesting to see where she ends up! It's possible she could come back here to MN!! And the last one has just entered the novitiate with a Carmelite order in St. Louis, MO!  She hopes to one day be a nurse! It's hard to believe they are all now out in the big wide world and finding their own way!! Time spent with them is scarse  and I truly do miss all the fun we used to have!! Guess that's part of my aging process I'll have to get used to!!! *VBS*

So I see Katts has stopped by and what a wonderful surprise and joy that is!!! Don't you ever think you are not welcome here! Goodness!! We wish more of our MIA would stop by!! Anyway, we're just thrilled to pieces to have you join  us when it works out for you! Prayers continue for you and DH, Sweetie!

{{{Shirley}}} - I hope this beautiful sun-shiney day has traveled south to blanket YOU in it's warmth and cheer! I hope you are feeling ever so much better today!!:O)

Carole - I behaved this year and didn't overeat! But I sure wanted to! Everything was soooooooooooo yummy! I'll have to share that sweet potato recipe I made. It was different and quite good! I'll be making it again!!

Mary - Your table sounds lovely. I'll be looking for that tea!! Thanks for the recommendation!

Well, I should be off. Today is the day I make my CC Cherries and the day is quickly flying by! If I don't get started soon, it will be an even longer day! Wonder how many I'll get made this year! I think last year I had something like 20 dozen? Hmm!

Hope you all have a good and safe day. If you're shopping, enjoy the craziness of this day! This is one day I do NOT care to be out and about!! Just too much insanity for my tastes!! But I know some who can't wait for this day to come every year!! lol

    ttfn..............

    Good Morning Everyone,

It is a cold, frosty morning here along the river..The creek is edged with ice and running swidtly toward the river...Birds are filling the feeders, along with a couple of big Gray Squirls....Breckfast is over and I am going to write some Christmas cards....

But I think I will start a pot of soup, Turkey with black beans and rice...I still have some rolls left and pie, so supper will be an easy meal....

Thanks Mary and Kathy, it is nice to be home with friends.... When you  have very little faimly hard times can be lonely..and you don't always want to burden friends...I ventured out to shop last year but stayed where it was warm today..I hope if you are out getting bargains you are safe and warm...Just wanted you to know that my computer desk is covered with a warm gray and white body, (Blaze) one of three additions to the family which came this spring...DH keep the mother (Boots) and she had 4 boys the neighbor took two and I had one given away three times only to have the people say they couldn't take him which we thought was a girl...So now Vicky changed to Victor when they went to the Vet. for surgry....and they have been a lot of fun and entertainment....

Will go get started on supper and the cards, checking back later

Good morning girlfriends!  Where did Thanksgiving go??  One of the stops we made, yesterday, was kind enough to put together a CARE package for us.  Earl and I had Thanksgiving leftover sandwiches this morning for breakfast.  They were full of turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce.  The left overs are now gone.  The first house we went to was kind enough to let me take the carcass but I left it there.  I have a feeling it will show up later today.  If not, it wasn't meant to be.

No venturing out today to fight the crowds.  I decided I'd rather pay the $5.00 saved to avoid the crowds.  I'll probably look online for what I was looking for.

I picked up a 4 foot tree from a yard sale a couple months ago and put it up in the family room.  I found a tree skirt in a wonderful chocolate brown the same color as my sofas and it even has a great faux mink trim on it.  The tree is a white one and I have it trimmed in lime green and fruit ornaments so it totally goes with a theme.  Now, what to do in the living room???  I want to get this stuff done as my holiday party is in two weekends and I'll be gone the next weekend camping.

    Hugs

    Kathy

Hello Angels! We had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day yesterday. I am a happy Mother Hen with both my boys back home, and it was great to enjoy a meal together, watch some football, and just be all in the same house again.

Shirley, I hope you had a peaceful, not a lonely, day and are feeling much better today.

Katts, how good to hear from you again. What a lot you have been through -- we are glad to be back in touch, so you let us know what's going on, okay?

Kathy, I love your mink tree skirt! Very luxe and "Santa Baby"-esque. We will probably get out the Christmas decorations tomorrow.

I worked today but did not try to do any shopping. It was fairly busy in the shopping center where my branch is located, but not excessively so.

Mary, I'm glad you had a delicious dinner. Nice to know that Bob Evans can cook Thanksgiving dinner if necessary!

All right, I'm leaving y'all some pumpkin pie and my special carrot cake with lemon cream-cheese frosting -- enjoy!

    Hi and Happy Day-After-Thanksgiving,

We had a nice day yesterday as Howard was able to come home for several hours and enjoy having dinner with us, but sad that he had to go back to the Rehab Care Center afterward. He hopes to be able to return home permanently by next Wed. or Thursday. I'm alone at home with the 2 pups and cats as DD Erica has gone down to Seattle for a couple of days. Speaking of cats, I invited a 'stray' cat into the house last evening as I couldn't bear for her to stay outside as it was cold and wet, and she had been around the previous night also, mewing. Erica showed her where the litter box and food was downstairs and then I didn't see her anymore until this evening. She is so people friendly and is wearing a rhinestone studded red leather collar with a red bell. I've called my neighbors on our road, but no one knows where she's from. Our neighbor Vet next door suggested bringing her in to her clinic to have her scanned for a microchip I.D. Someone is missing her, I'm sure, but she's a love for sure. She insisted on sitting my my shoulders or lap while I was emailing a short time ago - something I could have done without....

Mary, how wonderful that Bob Evans served up a delicious meal - something to keep in mind. I often wondered how good these dinners were, and it was an easy dinner to get onto the table.

Nice to welcome you back, Katts - don't stay away so long next time, although I know life gets difficult at times and we get bogged down with our burdens.  Shirley, how are you doing today? I was sorry to learn you were ill and stayed home instead of joining the rest of your family. Please be better today.  Kay, there is a difference for sure when the little kids grow up and aren't around for family celebrations and I can imagine how much you missed them yesterday. Makes us realize that the years are going by much too quickly.

I'm feeling sad tonight, in addition to missing Howard. A very dear and old friend (from 2nd grade) called tonight that her husband has only about one more week to live - he is so ill. She now has a day nurse and a night nurse to help care for him at home and ease his pain. How dreadfully sad for someone to watch someone they love go through this suffering. I think back to years ago when we were little carefree girls and now years later we have arrived at this point of separation.

Well, Ms. Kitty is back trying to sit on my keyboard so I had better sign off for the night and get us all off to bed as it's been a long and busy couple of days and I'm ready to get horizontal. I'll be off tomorrow to go visit Howard. Blessings to all of you dear Tea Angels.

    Anne
