    Krissy

I love your siggy picture! That would make an awesome cross stitch picture. If my eyes would cooperate I would sure give it a try! lol I have a program that would change it into a cross stitch. With my eyes I would have to put my glasses on to do the stitching then take them off to read lol Just does not work. The dr said I was not ready for bifocals though. Maybe when I do get them I will try and do it again.

I admire your patience to do cross stitching, Nikey.  I so do not have the patience (or talent) to do that but very much appreciate folks who can.

Sure hope the computer program cooperates for you.  You'll have to let me know, okay?

BTW...I got my first pair of bifocals this year.  My arms just stopped being long enough for some strange reason.  Wink

How is it wearing them? I have heard it is hard. I just want to be able to see like I used to.

I probably won't do the picture. It sure would be nice though. I did make a 10 x 13 teddy bear sitting on a rocking chair with a blanket over the chair. Another small teddy bear also. There was a rug under the rocking chair with fringe on it. I freaked when I realized how big it was lol I had to take some out a few times when I realized I was off but was very prould of what I did. I love it. I have one that has been in the works for about 6 years now. It has been sitting mostly because the eyes don't work right but some day, I will get it done and start a new one.

You have such a terrific attitude, Nikey! Big Smile

As for the Bifocals, I didn't do too badly with the adjustment period.  I think it's because I was in such serious need of a new prescription that my eyes were doing a happy dance once I got the new lenses.

Speaking of vision, do you think a Corneal Transplant would be of help to you?

I am not allowed to have any kind of surgery unless it is emergency because of the lupus. The dr said it is to big of a risk because of my immune system. I just need to be able to see Madison's beautiful face. (and the grandbabies after) As long as I can do that, it's all good. That is my main concern. Nothing is more important than that. If I can do more that is great! lol I do think it will be better though with bifocals. Just need to get in to have an eye exam now.

Thank you Krissy. She just makes me so happy. Just being around her. She is a wonderful little girl. It is funny when they give you a name, DH was trying to get her to call him Papa. Well, she calls him Daba! lol It is so cute when she yells it out to him. No clue how she came up with it but I love it. She has definitely enriched our lives.

The picture I have up now is of her and her 2nd cousin giving each other a hug before we left after Thanksgiving. It was so cute.

Hey Nikey, bifocals are really a great answer sometimes. I always made sure that the bifocal was at the very bottom of the glasses, made them easier to adjust to. If they get them up too high, then that makes it harder. Don't be afraid of them, they can really help. I used to wear tri-focals before I had cataract surgery.  Toni

When I had my eyes examined last year Toni, I asked about getting them. The dr said he did not think I was ready. I felt like I was lol When I have to take my glasses off to read something or hold it out far if I have contacts in I think I am ready. I no longer wear contacts though. I am going to ask for them this time again.

Hi Nikey.  Toni is right about having the bifocal lower on your glasses.   If you go back to contacts then you can just get some of those reading glasses from Wal-Mart, Walgreen's, etc to wear over your contacts.   Just try them on til you find the strength you want.   I used to do that when I wore contacts but now with the trifocals I just gave them up, do miss them though.

The contacts have actually started to bother my eyes a bit. I do miss them too but can tell a big difference when I have them on. Will probably just stick with the glasses.

I did try and get the strength the dr said to get ct but it did not work. Not sure why. He told me to get the over the counter ones but no luck.

    No problem Krissy Big Smile
