Oh, I love all cards, and it doesn't bother me a bit when someone sends a card with just their name on it. After all, when you're signing and addressing your Christmas cards, it's pretty hard to find the time to write a note on each of 50-100 or more of them. Especially when folks are so busy these days. Just getting the card is a wonderful, thoughtful gesture, to me. And yes, some are from folks I only hear from maybe once a year. Still, it's nice to know they remember that we knew each other in the past, and know they still think of us occasionally.
Here's one for you though. I just got a gift in the mail this morning from someone I haven't seen, spoken to, or corresponded with for probably 40 years. It was a simple gift, with a note--and was lovely remembrance of our childhood. He said such lovely things about our family, that I just sat and cried when I read the enclosed note.
