    TIPS FOR DIABETICS....3/20....MUSIC

Good morning, and a good morning it is. I think MAYBE I've turned the corner on this back pain. It didn't seem to be quite as painful this morning when I got up. I've been doing the exercises that PT gave me to do, twice a day, and I have another PT session tomorrow morning. I also went to the basement and walked 7/10th of a mile on my treadmill. I hate to exercise, but........if it will take this pain away, I'll do it. The Dr. also prescribed Tylenol #3, every 4/6 hours, and can also take the Ibuprofen 3 times a day. I have to take the Prevacid for my stomach, but I guess at this point I'll do it.
Toni, we sure missed you. Glad you are better enough to post again.
Dramma, your DD is so young to have back trouble.
Laura, glad the guys got the plants. That was some wind!
sissue, those oatmeal/apricot muffins sound very good. Have you posted the recipe?
lightingbug, thanks for saying you like the graphics. I love to do it.
BakeNGram, how nice to look 40 again! LOL In my dreams I guess it'll happen to me. Glad SIL is some better.
Rosemary, the PT may have kicked in, and I'll sure keep doing the exercises. How is your finger?
Gotta get my coffee....talk to you tomorrow.....Gram

    Good Morning!
Good to see the flag this morning. Boy do we need to support our country & President. War is nasty but guess we all knew it was coming.

GRAM, glad to know things are looking up for you. That Prevacid will really help the tummy. I have been on it nearly 2 months & it has made the other meds I need to take alot more tolerable. You are doing wonderful with your exercises-keep it up. It hurts at the time, but that's what heals. Now if I'd only listen to my own advice, my back wouldn't be hurting right now. DH mentioned yesterday he suspected his & my backaches may be my computer chair. I always thought it was comfortable. But you know power of suggestion-I had to quite yesterday aft it hurt so bad. And I've only been here a few min & it's starting. I just can't give up my puter time. I'd miss you all!

It is 36º & quite damp this morning. We are expecting tstorms today with a high of 63º.

Will make this short this morning-have to get DH a Dr appt. His leg was really bothering him all night.

BTW-my new "do" is flat this morning & right now I feel 60! It was nice while it lasted! LOL!!

Have a good day my friends!

Morning all, beautiful here today. The sun is shining and not a cloud in the sky.
Gram, glad to hear you are feeling better. But don't strain yourself you don't want to make it worse. Loved the flag it is very beautiful.
Toni, thanks for the recipe. I love Italin food of all kinds. I have always baked meatballs that I have made in the past. I have been know to bake them on a rack so they drain.
I made a meatball that is a enchalita flavor. You mix cornbread in the meat mix and after it is baked you cover with enchalita sauce an serve as a hot appetiser.
This is the class reunion for my boss. My reunion is next year. I found about 6 more name and addresses yesterday. All the names in Texas we can go on a web sight he has for the police dept. He is a policeman to for a small town near us. We look it up on there name and it gives us all the info, including if they have a "past".
Well, better go back to work. We are working this weekend and next unless something comes up.

Happy First Day of Spring! It was wonderful outside this morning - the sun shining and the temps already near 60. We are expected to get some rain and be a little cooler tomorrow, but I'm just living for the moment as far as the weather is concerned.

Gram, I agree with BakeNGram - it was so good to hear your music and see the flag flying. I'm wearing my US flag lapel pin today with pride. I am so thankful for our nation and the armed forces that are fighting for her.

I haven't heard any more from my sister, Jinx, who is stranded out there in Denver, but I know she is ok. She is a very upbeat person and always makes the best of any circumstance she might find herself in.

Gram, I will post the recipe for the Apricot Oatmeal Muffins tomorrow but I'm warning you they are hard to stay out of. LOL

I'm glad to hear that some backs are feeling better. I walked a mile on my treadmill this morning and I was surprised to find that once I got started and for a while afterwards I
really felt better. Maybe you could try using a different chair BakeNGram. We certainly do not want you to stop visiting the BB.

Gotta go - blessings to all.

Hello everyone! rainy day here. But warm. Just finished lunch. I have a sure sign of spring. Yard sales! I love them. I went to one this morning and bought a corner hutch that matches my dining table. It was exactly what I have been wanting for an empty corner. No empty corners allowed in my house!
We were attacked by ants the other day. Seems they gathered their troops and moved in. I put out the terro ant poison. It seems to do a great job. I see them waving white surrender flags.
Do any of you like Mary Kay make up? I have never used it before. My friend has started selling it. I tried a sample liquid makeup. I don't like that particular kind. I think I will try some night moisturizer and day moisturizer with sunscreen.
Glad to here you feeling better Gram. Toni I am missing you. BGram, I am picturing you slinking around trying to hide with your flat hair plastered to your head like a wet noodle! Just slap some gel on it and comb it back, put big earrings on, stick your nose in the air and act haughty! LOL. thats what my hair looks like when I don't work it over good.
Sissue and Laura are making me hungry with the muffin and meatball talk!
I will get my crazy self off of here. love to all, helen

    RE: TIPS FOR DIABETICS....3/20....MUSIC

Good afternoon everyone! The day is flying by, lots of work to wade through after being gone a few days. Of course we have the t.v. on in our conference room so our concentration is split between work and what's happening in the Iraq situation. Don't know about anyone else, but it sure has me feeling uneasy and very unsettled. Prayers for the safety and peace of our leaders and armed forces are abounding.
Toni, hope you don't mind but I'm copying your Italian meatball recipe. Sounds good and being the German/Norwegian that I am, I LOVE everything Italian, LOL! I'm going to make the notes about Laura's enchilada meatballs too! I was hungry after reading them, and then Sue gives us the apricot oatmeal muffin recipe! That sounds delicious and sure made my salad, rice cakes and grapefruit sections for lunch seem boring! :)
Helen, I just busted out laughing with your suggestion for BGram to slap some gel on her new do, put on the big earrings and walk the haughty walk!!! I always have such "bed head" in the mornings that I have to work with the mess to try and tame it down! I just might grab some of DD's gel and slap it on one of these mornings and go with it! Thanks for your great sense of humor.
Haven't talked to DD yet today to see how her back is doing. She was still sleeping when I left for work, and waking her early in the morning is like going into a cave to wake the sleeping mama bear! She is young for back problems, but I blame it on her sports injuries. She loved volleyball so much I didn't want to say no she couldn't play, but I have a feeling those injuries will be with her for a lifetime.
Time to get back to work, stay healthy, safe and enjoy the rest of Thursday!

    Hi Everyone,
Gram, I'm so glad you are feeling better. Good for you using your treadmill. Mine is up in the attic.
Lightningbug, That was wonderful that you could stop your bus with the emergency break. You have to feel so good knowing none of those little ones got hurt, thanks to YOU!! What a horrible feeling that must have been - no brakes. You deserve an award.
Rosemary, I hope your finger is doing better everyday.
All of the back problems, it is hard to believe. I'm glad you are all making some progress. Back paint is horrible!!
Dramma, did you say you had joint pain when you were on Lipitor?
Toni, I have to find your meatball recipe. Sounds like a good one. The muffin recipe sounds so good too.
It is raining here and will again tomorrow. A lot of sickness in school. We had so many substitute teachers today. It was unreal. Kids were loud and very off the wall. We blame it on the full moon and the situation in the world.
Lots of strep throat going around too.
    I hope everyone feels better.
    Talk to you all tomorrow.
Looking forward to the weekend so I can be home all day. Feeling quite stressed myself. More and more people are talking about how concerned they are and how afraid they are too.

Oh my, I should have reread my message.

It is the emergency brake not break.

    And back pain NOT paint.

I'd better stop while I'm ahead.

Hi All! 11:15 PM and I'm just getting home!! Was at an awards ceremony for the attorney I work with, she was named Woman of the Year in Law by our township. What a nice ceremony! 11 women from different walks of life were honored for their contributions to law, sports, science, education, community activism, culture, religion, etc. These women were truly awe inspiring! The number of degrees they have my gosh. Although, I have to say the funniest part of the night was when a Nuclearphysicist got up and they announced she was the science recipient, I thought, brother you ain't kiddin! She looked just like a "nuclearphysicist". Crazy bushy hair, glasses stuck down nose, kind of Jerry-Lewis-ish, but when she spoke, boy what a brilliant woman and so well-respected in her field.

Oh well, Just thought I'd run by and say Hi! I'll read the threads later but I hope everyone is well. I'll be home tomorrow so I'll get to catch up with you all!

    Night night for me! Hugs!

Gram, how appropriate to see our flag waving and hearing "Proud to be an American". I am praying that it will be over quickly with a minimum of loss of life. Happy to hear your PT is helping your pain and hope you can tolerate the meds.
BGram, your DH will have to buy you a fancy chair like Gram has. Can't have being on the computer giving you a backache. The way to keep your "do" looking good overnite is to sleep on a satin pillowcase. I can't buy rayon satin pillowcases anymore (didn't like to iron them anyway) but buy the nylon satin. It really helps as long as you don't sleep with your head under the sheet or blanket. I'm plenty old enough to remember that WWII Benny Goodman song. Brings back memories.
Laura, no wonder it's taking you so long to make that list for the class reunion. You're too busy reading all the "dirt" on everyone. Just kidding! Your meatball recipe sounds good, too. It's down right fattening to read this board!
Sissue, I'd better not make your muffins because I really have a weakness for dried apricots.
Helen, how lucky you got at the yard sale! I loved your solution for BGram's hair! I went to a Mary Kay party many years ago and after getting all that stuff put on my face, I felt like it'd take a scraper to get it off. I'm sure it's much improved now.
Dramma, hope your DD's back is feeling better. I'm with you on the good recipes that Toni, Laura and Sissue put on the board. I'm getting hungry.
Settinghen, stay well and don't let the kids cough on you. Toni's meatball recipe was on March 19th Tips for Diabetics. Sissue's muffin recipe was on a separate thread for Gramofnine. Both sound good!
My BS was 84 this am. Will be running around tomorrow so hope to be able to "talk" to you.

Toni, it took me so long to "compose" my post that I missed yours. Sounds like you're feeling better to be able to go to an awards program. What a nice tribute to your Boss and to the other ladies, too. Liked your description of the nuclear physicist. Do all the recipients live in your township? Like your patriot grapic.
