What is your oldest piece of Tupperware?

I still have the little yellow plastic collander with the handle. I use it ALL the time, don't know what I'd do without it!

That would be my flour and sugar containers. I would say they are over 30 years old. I have a tan pitcher that may even be older. LOL

I grew up in Fla…which is where, I believe, Tware started….I have some pieces that are from waaaaaay  back..inherited from my mom. The oldest is a tall kind of hourglass shaped – like the old salt and pepper shakers – powdered suger sifter. You load it from the bottom,,snap on the bottom two pieces then crank the handle on the top. It has a little blade inside that spins and “dusts” out the sugare…way cool!!!

I've got the short s & p shakers w/the little flip-up lids, an very old 'gravy maker', the 2 sets of Wonderlier (sp?) bowl...they have to be 35 to 40 years old...my lettuce keeper has to be very old too.  And, the little round Tupperware container that I've kept my brown sugar in for as long as I can remember...discolored w/age :-)

I "inherited" a flat rectangular container from my mother.  In either the 70s or 80s, she'd keep deli meats in it that my father would use for his sandwiches for his bag lunches.  My mother is alive and well, so I don't mean that I literally inherited it.

i just used by yellow plastic collander today!  i recently took one of my old bowls to a carry in meal and realized you can tell my age by the "color" of my tupperware.  i have lots of stuff from the 80's.  i buy rubbermaid now days cause i don't get invited to tupperware parties anymore, but that's ok, i need absolutely nothing.  but i love anything i can use in my kitchen.

I have the big square "picnic" container with the black handles that was my Grandmother's. She passed away in 1975. Also her big round container that she use to mix Kool aide in!

I also have the lunch box containers my two children use to carry their lunch to school in. And that was in the early 80s.

No need to throw them away when they're still in good condition!

I have the cake and pie carriers that I still use a lot, S&P shakers and the big orange pitcher. My favorite old set, a plastic rolling pin that held ice and its plastic rolling mat with pie sizes indicated, finally bit the dust.

Plastic rolling pin with the ice!...that is so awesome robynrae... I never saw such a thing! I finally threw away the plastic bottlecaps that I got as a Tupperware prize. They had the ring attached and you would put the ring over your bottle of soda or beer and cap the top, so the cap was secure and not pop off and get lost. I got those in the '80's and never used them. Remember the Modular sets? I still use two of them for oreos and homemade cookies. Still using the lettuce keeper. Also still use the bacon keeper although I never use it for bacon.

One of the canisters from the set of four we received as a wedding gift in 1954!

The large canister had a little opening with removable cap (to pour) and squirrels chewed that off while we were camping and using it for a cookie jar!

Re: What is your oldest piece of Tupperware?

Hi! My name is Beverly and I live in Illinois with my husband and son. I am new to this forum so I hope you all do not mind me jumping into your conversation.

I have a big green Tupperware bowl with a white lid. It was my grandmothers and she used it every time we had a family gathering. She would bring a double or triple batch of glazed fruit salad or some other kind of salad in it. As far back as I can remember she had that bowl so I know it is old but I am not sure how old.  I also have some white plastic popsicle trays with the little individual popsicle containers with the lids that have built- in plastic popsicle sticks. I remember using those popsicle trays when I was in grade school.I used to make koolaide or fruit juice popsicles. I also remember anxiously waiting for the popsicles to freeze and then being so proud that I made popsicles all by myself. I do not remember my mom buying us popsicles. I think we always made our own. Oh, I can not forget the brown Tupperware salt and pepper shakers, green celery keeper, and tan vegetable tray that were passed down from Grandma, too.

My mom just found me a Tupperware canister set last weekend that looks like new at a rummage sale. She already has a set so she is giving it to me. I was very excited when she told me what she found. Even though I already have a set of nice canisters, I know the tupperware ones are better. My mom has all of the rest of my grandma's tupperware and an old collection of her own that she still uses all the time. It is amazing how long Tupperware lasts.

I am sorry for being so long winded. This discussion has made me feel nostalgic.

Re: What is your oldest piece of Tupperware?

After I read your post, I starter counting the tupperware pieces that I have.  And I was suprised at how much that I have.  I think that the oldest one is a bread keeper that I got as a wedding gift 45 years ago and and I'm still using it.  And, the popsicle molds.  I know that I had them but I can't find them.  They got sticky and I might have thrown then away.  I have the cake keeper, pie keeper, letuce keeper and oh so many others.  These are at least 30 to 40 years old and I'm still using them all.  Theres so much new stuff that I'd like to have, but I don't have enough cabinet space to put them.
