What small appliance couldn't you live without?

I have 2 I couldn't live without: My Showtime rotisserie and my Kitchenaid stand mixer. I use both of these at least 2 times a week, if not more. My rotisserie cooks up quickly and without heating up my kitchen and my stand mixer makes making cookies and cakes so easy.

I couldn't live without my crock pot (Rival - old fashioned kind) and my Kitchenaid stand mixer.  Depend on them both.

It would be my toaster oven and my bread machine.

Hands down my VitaMix and my Keurig coffee maker. The KA is what I have officially dubbed a "cabinet sitter"-it sits in the cabinet waiting for that half dozen times a year I need to dig it out, like at the holidays. Third place would probably go to my bread machine, and fourth to my Showtime Rotisserie as well, but don't use either of them on a regular enough basis like I do the VitaMix and Keurig.

Mine would have to be my Kitchen Aid stand mixer and my bread machine.  I love my mixer for so many things and nothing beats homemade bread.

Until about 1980  I got along with just an electr. hand mixer but as I was getting older I invested in a few other toys: first was blender, a Farberware counter top convection oven, then a KA lift bowl stand mixer w meat grinder attachment, a food processor, my first microwaveoven, an immersion blender then the big Kahoona: an 11 qrt "Santos" kneading machine about7-8 yrs ago

.Oh, I forgot, I bought my first electric "Golden Grain" grain mill in the early70s. It finally bit the dust about 2 yrs ago and I now have K-Teck I am not too happy with, it does not grind coarse enough, only several grades of fine.

In case the power is off I do have a hand operated grain mill and an old fashioned meat grinder and a bunch of other handy old fashioned gadgets.

I coud live without any electruic aopliances if I HAD TO (grew uup that way and bought my first electr appliances (the hand mixer) in 1964 (I was then 37) but if I could keep 2 of them I would pick the hand moxer and the blender.

Well, truly, if I had to give up all small appliances, I could do just fine--I do a lot of things by hand, anyway.  I hardly use my food processor (I do all my chopping with a knife, and use a hand grater for any grating I need done), I detest electric can openers.  Don't even have a blender.  Can make toast in the broiler, in a pinch.  Have a two gas grills out back, so could do without the Forman Grill.  Waffles are pretty hard to make without a waffle iron, but we'd just eat pancakes (or I'd cheat and buy frozen waffles).

But the one I'd miss the most would be my KitchenAid mixer.

Yep. My Kitchen-Aid mixer is top of the list. A distant second is my micro wave, but only to defrost when I forget to take out some meat for dinner!  And my waffle iron. My wife loves my waffles. For you skinny people, try spreading some vanilla ice cream on your waffles. I wish I could still do that.

My #1 small appliance would be my Kitchen Aide. Until you have one you never know how easy baking can be. I also love my bread machine....but the winner is the mixer.

I agree with a lot you that the KitchenAid mixer is a hands down winner.  I also love my Cuisinart food processor. But the mixer wins.
