 Jacob, age 92, and Ethel, age 89, living in Texas, are excited about their decision to get married. They go for a stroll to discuss the wedding, and on the way they pass a drugstore. Jacob suggests they go in.

Jacob addresses the man behind the counter: "Are you the owner?"

The pharmacist answers: "Yes."

Jacob: "We're about to get married. Do you sell heart medication?"

Pharmacist: "Of course we do."

Jacob: "How about medicine for circulation?"

Pharmacist: "All kinds."

Jacob: "Medicine for rheumatism?"

Pharmacist: "Definitely."

Jacob: "How about suppositories?"

Pharmacist: "You bet!"

Jacob: "Medicine for memory problems, arthritis, and Alzheimer's?"

Pharmacist: "Yes, a large variety. The works."

Jacob: "What about vitamins, sleeping pills, Geritol, antidotes for Parkinson's disease?"

Pharmacist: "Absolutely."

Jacob: "Everything for heartburn and indigestion?"

Pharmacist: "We sure do."

Jacob: "You sell wheelchairs and walkers and canes?"

Pharmacist: "All speeds and sizes."

Jacob: "Adult diapers?"

Pharmacist: "Sure."

Jacob: "We'd like to use this store as our Bridal Registry."

THe air conditioner broke at my house, the thermostat says its 92 in the house right now.  We called the apartment emergency line but the man said he wouldnt come to fit it until tomorrow.  I know there's no way I'm falling asleep like this....DH is outside trying to sleep,its just miserable.

It has been comfortable here, not too hot, but kinda nice. I got the car washed and waxed yesterday and told Ron....no more dirt roads...for awhile anyway...LOL We did the Walmart hair do thing yesterday,  went to some yard sales and got groceries.  Not too lucky at the yard sales this week though. So many people in our area are starting their yard sales on Thursday and running them till Saturday.

 

China, I sympathize with you and the hot weather you are enduring.

  Good Morning, Ladies!

 

     So far, it's a beautiful day!  The sunrise was very pretty and colorful.

 

    I think we are finally getting a break in our heat wave.  The  high today is only supposed to be 89.  Maybe the kids will go outside for awhile today.  I bought them some more water balloons, so we'll see.

 

   I can't wait to find out who my new sister will be!  The last round went by so fast. Maybe this round won't go so fast.

 

   Guess I better get going. The kids are starting to stir. They're wanting chocolate pancakes this morning, guess I'll get to cooking.

 

   Prayers for those in need and hugs for all.

Good morning. Taking a bit of a break. It was a little cool this morning so we opened the house up. It's so early and we're getting ready to turn the AC back on. There is no breeze this morning and the air is heavy. I think it's suppose to hit 106, YIKES!! The summer is hitting so late this year, don't get me wrong, I loved having the extra large window of Spring weather, I just think we need to hold on during the next few months. I really enjoy every round of Secret Sister while also anxious to begin the next round. I keep checking my in tray each morning to see if anything was received. Sandy, Enjoy your day!! Mary, I love getting up really early and going to yard sales. I mostly look for books. We're having a block yard sale the 4th of July weekend. It should be a good one. China, This is terrible with your a/c. Do you have any fans? I hope they are out early today to resolve this for you. Take care!! Marcia, Thank you for the laugh. It definitely lightened my morning.  Susie- Yes we have a ceiling fan in the bedroom and the living room.  I got no sleep though, it was so hot.  The man was suppposed to be here at 8am....it is now 11 am and he just now got here.  The thermostat says its 93 inside the apartment now.  Hopefully this guy can fix it fast before we all melt over here.

 Hi Sisters,

I pray your Sunday was good? We had a good service all about the Holy Spirit. Boy the time went by fast.DH and I came home and did chicken on the gril and made potato salad oh it was good.DS and a friend from church came in and were going to do steaks I told them to go for it.

Not much going on hope the 4th is going to be nice,we have had some rain every day this week.

Hi to my dear sisters.  I'm in the great city of.....oh wait.  I better not say because I might want to send a postcard or some other thing from my trip.  So, I'm currently out of town and I hope you're doing well.  DH and I have had a good day.  I went to my meetings, then met him to go to ________________ and then we went to Hard Rock Cafe in this particular town.  We always get t-shirts for us and my brother, too.  It's a collection we have!

 

Well, better go.  Just wanted to check in and say Hi!  I hope you all have a wonderful week.

 China, I know how you feel. It has been very hot here. Ours quit cooling last week but we have a small unit in the bedroom so it was OK for a night. We have a friend that did a temporary fix on it. Hope yours is fixed by now.

Good Morning, Sisters!

We had a hot last week with heat index to 100 and humidity. A front came through and only supposed to be in 70s with storms for a couple days. Just can't win here...weather isn't cooperating anywhere this year, is it. So everyone stay cool if you can...me, I am in a sweatshirt this morning!

I was on a six-day workathon with only yesterday off and winds to 40mph-no painting but lots of garden work and blasted laundry...back to work this morning but wanted to be sure to say hi and happy and safe week to everyone.

It is cool again here- finally the  man came to fix the ac yesterday-right before I melted onto the floor.  Since we had such a miserable night we went out to see two movies in a row yesterday afternoon, which was fun.  

 

Linda-You are in a sweatshirt...... All I can say is that I am very jealous! 

 

Pat-Yeah a window unit would have been a blessing.   I was just so angry that the maintance man said he would be here at 8am but dawdled around and didnt arrive till 11:30-every hot minute was miserable.  At least I saw that we have a chance of rain this week-and its cloudy now outside 

 

Micki-Have fun!!! Hard rock cafe sounds really fun!!! I hope you have a good time.

 

 Nancy-Yesterday it was the same temperature inside and outside....I stood at the entranceway and took a step out and then a step in, it was awful.  But its all fixed now, and I am very thankful for the AC! Last night when we had a blessing for dinner I said "and thanks for the air conditioning".

 

Redawna-I received your cool thoughts!  It is cloudy!!! Only supposed to get up to 93 today, DH was soo happy (he works outside you know). Oh, and it sounds like the trip to Canada fell through..or something...Kayls dad is going alone.

 

So what is everyone doing for 4th of July??????  I am worried that our family cookout will get canceled due to my grandmother still being on bedrest-she usually gets everything together for us all even though we usually celebrate at my great grandmother's house.  

 

I still haven't heard anything about what the mass was that they removed from my little brother's leg.  Hopefully we will hear about it today.
