    *** YARN CRAFTERS CHAT 6-28 to 7-4

     Dance Good Morning!                     lol

& a nice sunny one it is!!!    but some rain shows up on the weatherman's chart for every day until FRIDAY!     MY lawn is terrible now as I haven't been home to take care of it.....I did dead-head my flowers this morning but that's it.  [the grass is sooo wet I won't have to wash my feet]  LOL    Have to work from Noon until 4 ish today..........

Jolene: sometimes those ombres don't work up "looking good" in crochet either; especially when making a blanket & adding more than 1 skein.

Need to get ready to go....see you all later!

Morning Kathie!  Yup, this summer is looking to be a washout so far...

Didn't do much of anything yesterday, finished a pattern repeat on my shawl and then had to rip half of it back because I'd picked up an extra stitch somewhere.    Frogging the Boise is a huge PITA.    It fuzzes and clings and I can't imagine how the garment would hold up over time...  Just goes to show that the most expensive isn't always the best!

Drizzling here, was supposed to go pick strawberries today, may just buy cherries at the farmstand instead.

    Waving to all!

Re: *** YARN CRAFTERS CHAT 6-28 to 7-4

Just popping in to let you know I will be MIA until....well the rest of the summer.  All the graduations, weddings, ball games, birthday celebrations have been attended and it is now time to migrate to the lake for the rest of the summer.  We have limited computer access there.  Know that I will be knitting on rainy, cool days and I'll report on my tons of completed  Wink projects when I return.  We will be home for a few days here and there and I may be able to pop in then.

To get a sense of what my summer will be like go to www.thinkdunes.com there is a narrated promotional video and if you click on the visitor info tab you'll see where DH and I spend some time volunteering at the visitor center.  Our place is not waterfront, we're about 3 blocks from Silver Lake and a mile from Lake Michigan, in any case it's our slice of paradise on earth.

Have a happy, safe summer, may the 'yarn powers' be good to you all. I look forward to catching up when I return.

    HI Everyone

I'm am happy to report I've finished the tablecloth as far as crocheting it goes.  Now if I can just find the rest of those pesky ends I need to weave in it will be done.  Waiting on DH to have a block of free time to help me with that.  Yes I know...... picture will be posted after I get it washed and starched though at the moment I'm not sure how the heck I'm going to starch the darn thing  may have to beg use of my neighbors spare bedroom to pin it out on her carpet.

I've already made 2 of the cross with dove doliys since the tablecloth crocheting was done need to make 2 more of those and one with a lighthouse and a baby shower gift and I'm free to work on whatever I want to.

Linda hope you enjoy your vacation.

Kathie I'm a bit behind on my weeding it's been so hot here lately.  Good news is most of them are in spots where there's no flowers yet but since I just got in a bunch of different seeds in trade one spot will get cleaned up this evening.  As for the vegetable garden I refuse to go look but DH tells me the corn has little ears on them, pumpkins are going everywhere, cantaloupe are just starting, cucumbers done got one good mess that didn't last long between the two of us and we have been eating fresh from the garden potatoes for 2 weeks now and he's got one mess of beans too.

Well I'm off to decide what to make for the baby shower gift.

    Everyone have a great week

    Hi everyone

It has cooled off here alot. No humidity and hot tempertures. Breezy and in the 80's

I have been weeding between the hot and the mosquitos. I just got my first green beans last night.

I am still working on little girl dress. It has been challenging. I can see why my daughter got frustrated.

Because I work for city I had the opportunity to take my family on a Union Pacific train ride yesterday. We ended up in the executive business car. it was very nice. Big beautiful cherry wood table with nine matching chairs. A matching hutch on the one wall and nice big windows. My grandchildren loved it. We had an hour ride. I will try to remember to send picture to Jolene to post.

Anyway hope everyone is having a good monday. Jeanette

Sigh, I have a feeling this is going to be the shortest summer in history!    Rain, rain, rain.     The sun came out for 30 min intervals yesterday to break up the high winds and torrential downpours.   Put Jake to bed, but he was up less than an hour later, the thunder scared him so I let him sleep on the couch until Tim got home.

Managed to get some knitting done before he came up, I'm on the 7th repeat of the middle off the shawl, 3 more to go after that,  and then the last 3 sets of dropped stitches.   Should definitely be finished by Saturday.     Have to get another project lined up, because both Jake and Tim will be gone on the 4th, so I'll be able to have a nice uninterrupted day of knitting or girly movies or whatever the heck I want  :)

Jeanette, the train ride sounds great!   We had planned on going up Mt Washington on the Cog Railway, but it was sooo expensive.     Maybe next year.     I'll be happy to post the pics for you!

Margaret, looking foward to seeing your finished tablecloth!  My mom always crocheted big projects like that, bedspreads, tablecloths, etc.    The biggest I've done is a baby blanket  :)

Off to feed the little guy breakfast   :)   Waving to Kathie and everyone who stops in later.

    Hi Everyone

Busy two days at work. Yesterday was end of fiscal year so had to get everything in and done.

I finished front and back of dress that my daughter was having trouble with. I did the largest pattern. I went to try it on the littlest DGD and it wouldn't even go over her head so frogged that one. Started another sweater.

We have cooled off here in Iowa. Highs only in upper 60's low 70's. No humidity.

Well better close for the day and get home to do something. Hope everyone had a good day. Jeanette

Thunder and lightening, have to shut the computer down but wanted to say hello first!    Started a snowman dishcloth yesterday at my parents, didn't want to bring the shawl there and get it all smoky smelling.

Tim took a vacation day today so we can take Jake to see the new Ice Age movie.

Woops, that was a loud one, storm is right over us!   Will be back later!

    Hi Everyone

I am off work today. Have to take my mom shoe shopping today. But I am going to enjoy the day away from work.

Since I frogged the dress started another baby sweater. Aunt Jen's Sweater is the pattern. I have this huge skein of light purple Bernat Baby sport so thought I could get some sweaters out it.

I am sorry you girls in the east are having all that rain. We went through that spell the middle of June but now we are dry and wanting rain. Maybe tonight they say.

Rachelle it is good you are getting classes done but they do put a crimp in ones crafting.

Jolene can't wait to see a finished picture of the shawl.

Hope LInda is enjoying her home away from home. Margaret sure has been busy with big projects.

Marcia has been missing in action for awhile now? Miss her.

Well better get on with my day. Have a good one everyone. Jeanette
