TheDivaSharon:I have a matching long skirt so I can wear the set with a Renaissance overdress
I'm dripping with envy. It has been years since I have been to a Renaissance. I love long, flowing sleeves. Does the skirt have a regular waist band or is it elastic? Seems the long skirts in the catalogs for renaissance skirts or elastic only. (which I do not care for nor the "bunched up" look of gathers around the waist)
The skirt does have an elastic waist because I asked for it...so I could get into it really fast during quick changes in a show (had to change in the hallway outside the stage door in the last show and my dresser had both pieces together and ready for me to jump into), but I know she can do a regular waistband. The skirt isn't bunchy at the waist (my concern too) because she tapers the panels. She does beautiful work and I could definitely give you her contact information if you wanted a blouse. She usually makes them in cotton, but made them in silkessence poly fabric for me because I wanted a silkier flowing look. She also did me a huge favor and ran to the store, found the red fabric and made me a skirt overnight (to match the blouse which I already had for over a year) because I had a costume 911! She's a wonderful person and I highly recommend her.
I'm going to a renaissance fair in November and I'm working on putting together something great...I'm thinking of wearing this black and gold bodice and having a matching over-skirt made, then wear one of the sets underneath...I have brocade sleeves that tie onto this bodice too. I love costumes!
Wish you could go too!
