    What's For Supper? Thursday 7/2/09

Good hot & sunny afternoon, it is 95 & supposed to get to 103 Stick out tongue    I was out & about early this morning, had to go to the dentist for a check-up & cleaning---good so far!   Then DH & I went grocery shopping & spent about $40 more than I wanted to.   Tongue Tied

I only slept for about 4 hour last night so I am going to take a nap whether I want to or not.

We had a large lunge already so supper will be light:

    Ham sandwiches

    Cottage cheese

    Have a happy day!

Hi Patty, I didn't sleep well either last night so a short nap is in order here.

Tonight we're having teriyaki chicken, steamed rice, stir-fried cabbage, and tropical fruit salad.  There might be some orange-mango juice in the freezer if DS wants to mix it up for drinks.

Some days, I can literally see the testosterone floating in the air around here.

Heh heh.  I try not to lunge at my food.  Mamma says it's not ladylike.Wink

It may be wrong and unfrugal of me, but I'm thinking of picking up Chinese food on my way home tonight.

Probably just the kids & me again...so I have no idea what we're having!

Hoping DH will soon be done with the remodel at his parents' & be home with us for supper again!  Tomorrow, I get to go shopping with a friend, so looking forward to that.  DH is off then, so don't know if he'll be at his parents' (probably).  If not, he can babysit!  If DH isn't available, my mom said she'll watch them.  At least she understands my need for a "girls day" once in a while!  MIL apparently doesn't, as I'd asked her to babysit & she first said ok, then called & backed out, cuz it "wasn't a good enough reason."  Whatever!  Probably for the best, as I'm pretty much ticked at his family right now--2 of them anyway!

    Ok, guess I've griped enough!

    Have a great day everybody!

Since it's so cold outside I'm using the oven:

Pork Tenderloin draped in bacon. Stick out tongue

    Roasted new potatoes and carrots.

I was exhausted after work yesterday, so we had takeout sub sandwiches for dinner.  Off work today so we are having leftover roasted chicken with a Creamy Vodka and Herb Sauce with polenta.  I am trying ready made polenta for the first time. Any suggestions for the polenta?

Have a great evening and a grand 4th everyone!
