Calln a clinic and ask a nurse or PA, if they can't help, take him in on a "waiting appointment", tey'll squeeze him in.

I wouldn't let it continue much longer before calling a doctor. In the meantime, give him Gatorade to replenish electrolytes, and also the BRAT diet, bananas, rice, applesauce, and tea.

I thought the "t" was toast ... bananas, rice, applesauce and toast.

Regardless, if it's been going on 24 hours, I'd get him seen just to be sure he's not dehydrating.

    That was my old stanbdby.

7 years old can dehydrate fast...so keep the fluids going into him. Does he have a fever...if yes, then you need to get a medical professional to look at him. Meanwhile, give the little guy a big (((((hug)))))

Oh, and btw....remember diaper rash....A&D ointment also soothes for diarrhea....and if no A &D..

many petroleum based ointment will do...plain vaseline, neorporin.

Hope the tlittle tyke is better in the morning.

Right Hug [}] Re: My 7 year old has diarrhea since yesterday what should I give him

Almost 30 years ago, my oldest DD had Diarrhea for 6 weeks. She was only 15 mos. I kept calling her Dr and they told me some viruses could last that long. She lost almost 1/5 of her body weight. She really never caught it back up. I myself have had Diarrhia almost constantly for 31 years! That's due to Crohn's disease. I have numerous malobsorbsion problems. i'm not sure, but I think the dr might prefer pedialyte to gatorade at that age. Check with a dr or if you have a nurse line in your area call them. I hope he gets better soon.

He seems a little better and is eating a little more  He is starting to play more. His Dr is not in till 10:00 tomorrow so I have to wait and see I really think he 's getting better. He hasn't had this since he was 1 1/2  ,so I was at a lost what to do.If he still has it tomorrow I will take him in

    Foods: bland, soft stuff only.

Liquids: no citrus, no dairy....only clear fluids for now. Don't push the foods if he stops eating, fluids are more important. If it lasts for more than a couple of days, or if he starts vomiting, or if he spikes a temp, get him into the doctor. If you can't get an appt within a day or so take him to the ER.

I know right from wrong. Wrong is the fun one.

One other thing that's often not mentioned--watch the sugar.  Sugar is an irritant to the digestive tract.  Lots of times, people think that by getting sugar (calories) into a sick person--in juices, soda, etc--they're helping them keep their energy up, but sugary foods can also make a sick person feel much sicker, because of the harsh effect they have on the system.
