Hi Deb and others in Prayer Circle...great message today, and I love that song you posted..as some of you may know my dad passed away on the 20th....I flew back to Boston to be with my family and for the funeral. I must say that I handled this pretty well because of my faith in God! Ten years ago I would have fallen apart over his death, but since I've come to know the Lord more and know where my dad is and where we will be for all eternity, it has GREATLY helped me in dealing with death. It's truly amazing what knowing the Lord will do for us in times of sadness. He is such a great comfort and knowing where we will be after we're gone puts such a great uplifting spirit on us...The priest put so much emphasis on heaven and what's in store instead of missing him here on earth. His message was so positive about what awaits us. I left the church sad but filled with so much hope of what is to come. I was almost smiling when the service was over.....it was truly amazing.

Welcome back Didee! I don't know how those who have no hope handle grief. It's hard enough when you do have the hope! What a blessing to see how God is pouring His grace over you.

Well, I changed my plans. I'm not going to Mom's today. Tessa is shooting a wedding north of Chicago this evening, and her car plans have fallen thru, sooo it's back to borrowing Mom's van. It's OK because I didn't have a peace about traveling today. I was going to meet my sister and her DH part way and hitch a ride with them, but there is no way I could have the car back in time for Tessa to get it.

Praying for everyone! Relieved at Bobby's news. Deb

will be praying for all the needs here. had to go back to yesterday's post and find out about mari. at least you can have peace of mind that you're not crazy, these symptoms are real and someone finally has figured out what's going on. will be praying for your upcoming surgery. i have straightened up the kitchen and got my plants fed and watered and got the 2nd load of laundry in the washed. mari, don't feel bad about the canning and such. i told dh the end of this month if the beans were ready to can, i could help but not get it done by myself because i'm not supposed to be lifting over 10# for a while. but i understand what you're saying. will be praying for everyone. treasa

Have been lurking for a couple of days due to the fact that when we got back from WI, I had a humdinger of a cold.  I'm just as miserable six days later as I was at the beginning.  I've never had such a bad sore throat for so long.

When we got to WI  (burial of MIL's ashes), one of my SILs told me that MIL came to the Lord before she died.  Halleluiah!!!  All these years she and I have tried to talk to her  regarding her soul; she just kept brushing us off.  The day she died she had become restless and the nurse asked her if she wanted Lasix (for all the water in her).  She said no because she deserved to die like that.  When asked why, she said because she was a sinner.  A little later she became even more agitated and cried out, "I'm a sinner, I'm a sinner".  My SIL hurried to her side and told her how she could fix that and brought the salvation message to her for the last time.  She settled way down after she heard about Jesus and a few hours later she died in peace.  It made my heart leap for joy!!!  I'll be seeing her again; this was not a "goodbye" but an "I'll see ya later".

Gotta go for now.  I'm in a coughing spree and spraying the poor screen.

Oh Chris! I have tears of joy in my eyes! That is so beautiful. God is at work drawing people to Himself until their final breath! He is faithful.

OK, I'm going to clean my screen off, and pray that you feel better.

chris, what a wonderful post. my grandfather was the type to just go to church on easter and christmas if we were lucky. several people had tried to talk to him and when he was finally in the nursing home, he asked Jesus into his heart. we didn't know it until years later and someone told mom. it was such a comfort to us to know that we will see them again. treasa

Haven't been on the board much as I've been super busy.  We're cleaning out DSIL's house and it's a MESS.  We can tell her mental state has been going downhill for several years when we see how she lived.  Good thing she is now in assisted living...but her mind is so confused.  And just as I thought my house was getting to look good, I have to take and sort her things to find the good from the trash, things she needs and doesn't, clothes, etc.  Our garbage man must think we are cleaning out.  Her house is 75 miles away so we have to do some strange things to be able to sort and toss both there and here.  I never want to see a mouse dropping again!   Yuk!  And I guess when I said "for better or for worse" it includes an in-law who was a messie!!!

    Reading your posts and praying.
