    Canadian Corner 07/03/09

    Good Morning Friends,

I slept with DGD in the spare bedroom, didn't realize that mattress is so hard just like a rock. I sure feel it, I ache my neck/back. I like a soft mattress much better..

The kids don't realize that I can play with them all the time. DGS wanted me to go play tag with him...that would do me in. I have to draw the line somewhere. Yesterday they André took them to Chatham after dropping me off, went to the cemetery to see the grave of my neice who died at the age of 6.

He took them to the mall and back to pick me up. We shopped here in my town, and watched some more movies.

Today they are planning to go fishing,  thery have been looking forward to it big time.  André bought them a tackle box with accessories.

It's true Aleida, we do learn something new everyday, thanks for sharing.

Gramma, how can they sleep till noon, the best part of the day is gone.  Would you share your tomatoes with us?

Marilyn, how is your garden any tomatoes? Give me the word and we'll be down.

Ladies give me till the gkids are gone and I will post more. They really are good kids, I was explaining once you are 65 you don't need a fishing license anymore, at this Kirsten said we are not 65 yet....LOL big time.

    Have a nice day,

    YF

That's cute Maria about your grandkids not being 65 yet.  I have DH hold onto my fishing licence and hopefully he'll always know where it is -- what am I thinking???  He misplaces stuff more often than I.  Oh well

Supposed to get sunny this afternoon -- I'm hoping -- sort fo dreary all this rain.  The plants are doing well -- so are the weeds.

This weekend is the Mariposa folk festival in Orillia -- it is a large event and well attended.  This year they will not be selling bottled water -- they're hoping people bring their own containers and then there will be tap water around -- but will it be cold???  I see where they are going with this but if you want to not have those bottles around anymore, then you just should not sell them period -- and that will never happen.

The Barrie mayor and one of his councilman got into a verbal altercation last night -- and the police were called -- I think it's even possible charges may be laid -- not sure on which one.  They took the conversation (for lack of a better word hehe) to another room but one of them forgot to turn off his lapel mike.  LOL

DH will be home from work around 8:30 this a.m.  He says he will catch some sleep and then we may head to north of Toronto -- to Bass Pro and Pro Golf.  I will go along but for sure I'll be browsing other stores -- rare for me to buy anything but I like to look.

Having a coffee now and perhaps I'll do some stitching -- it is still wet outside and I have no interest to go out.  Lotte shamed me into getting going and finishing this stocking -- better 'cos I was hoping to get two done this year.  Otherwise the pile just does not go down.

    Have a great day all

enjoy the fishing and grandkids Maria.  What are you fishing for?

     Good morning ladies,

Another sunny, dry start to the day here.  DH has started on his bread baking for market.

My tomatoes finally have their first flower.  It seems that first BLT is still a long ways into the future.

The lack of rain here has taken its toll on the crops and the garden is awfully pitiful.  Sorry there's nothing to raid here.

Better get this show on the road.  Have a great weekend.         Pat

Okay, we'll share our tomatoes, but you have to come on down to get them! On your way, you could stop at Marilyn's and see what she has in her garden. Those BLTs were sooo good. I ate two. Two?! Bacon is on the list of things I can NEVER eat. Oh, well. It won't happen again until next year (unless eating the bacon does me in now)Smile

One summer years ago when we still lived down here, we went up to Michigan during the week of July 4. We had just gotten the first tomatoes from our garden here and went to visit one of my brothers. He was so proud of his garden and the fact that his tomatoes had blossoms "already". Up there if there's been a warm spring, tomatoes might be ready by mid-August, but usually there wasn't a big crop until Labor Day (the first Monday in September).

I got a lot of little things done here yesterday, but there's still a lot left to do. Char? Hanging pictures is among the things on my list!

Gotta light a fire under my skinny b*tt and get showered and dressed. C U L8R.

    Good morning,

Popping in to say that I am still hanging in here.  I had a few false labour pains last night.  I kept an eye on the clock to time them, but then they stopped.  I thought we were going to be in for a drive to town during the night.  So far, nothing this morning.

I was up earlier, but then a thunder storm came through.  So, I unplugged the computer, tv, etc and went back to bed.  I borrowed the Twighlight series from my niece and haven't been able to put it down.  Almost finished the first book.  We watched the fist movie about a month ago and I decided I wanted to read the books.  I can see why my neice likes them.

Well, off to get a shower and do something today.  Yesterday was a bust, as I had absolutely no energy.  Hoping the sun comes out soon to re-energize everyone!

Cathy, there's no scientific basis for this, but I predict that Baby Boy is going to arrive between now and the 8th. If the barometric drops significantly before the 8th, you'll be on the way to the hospital. If not, then he's going to make his presence known at full-moon time (the 7th). I don't care who says it's not so, I've been around a long time, and you can carve it in stone that if it's close to time to deliver and either one or both of those events occur, you'll be a new mommy.

So it's an old wives tale. So? LOL

Breezing by in my jammies to say "good morning". I'm enroute to the shower. Working another long shift into tomorrow afternoon. But first, I need to make a card for Ada and for another special lady we haven't heard from for months.

So I'm wishing you all a wonderful day!

Hi all...just home from the vet. Our male chihuahua had an appt for his annual vaccine. Plus he got his anal glands done, and also his nails. He was not a happy camper when they finished with him. lol

Got the sprinklers going...supposed to be around 32º this afternoon..warmer tomorrow..then rain on Monday. I hope for rain actually!  We are so very dry around here. My lawn looks like crap even though I am watering it.

Meme, it was me who asked where you live. Innisfail is very pretty! Yes, dh's aunt and uncle live there. She works at the nursing home? or retirement home? Not sure which it is, and he works at Home Hardware. They live in a lovely condo there.

I have 2 more appts today..so will see what I can get done in between all those! DS is still sleeping..being very lazy! I should go wake him up. That wouldn't be very nice, would it? lol

Guess I should do a little bit of something here. Take care all..enjoy your Friday.

The sun is preparing to set behind a big cloud bank, I think we have everything ready for the market.

My niece delivered a healthy baby girl  just before supper.

All in all, it has been a fine day.  Good night to one and all.       Pat
