Late yesterday my mailman brought me a packet of recipes & cards from Mollie (Volntremt4life) along with a lovely letter.

    Her recipes included:

Creamy baked crab dip,Sausage bites, Snickers Fudge, Bacon cheese puffs and Christmas seafood casserole.  All sound really yummy - we especially love ANYTHING with crab meat in it.

Thanks Mollie - I enjoyed "meeting" you...

Re: Christmas In July Recipe Swap - RECEIVED!!!

I went to the post office today and to much to my enjoyment recieved a package of recipes from my first partner for this month. This packet came from Laura White (aka:lnwhite). Laura sent me 5 delicious recipes!!! Among them Amazing Apricot Chicken, Rice Pilaf, Snowball Cookies, Jam Thumbprint Cookies, and Hot Cocoa Mix. Thank you Laura so much! I will be trying all of your recipes. I just went grocery shopping today and bought enough groceries for a week. But, next week when i go again I will be getting the stuff to make the Rice Pilaf and Apricot Chicken together one night. I make Christmas baskets at Christmas time for a few people as gifts filled with homemade cookies and candy. I will be adding the cocoa to them this year! The jam cookies will probably be a new addition as well, but they will be tested before then! Lol. The snowball cookies I know are amazing because they are one of the recipes I sent this month. Haha. However, I am going to add your recipe to my recipe box because it will make it much easier to cook with then dragging my huge family cookbook I made to the kitchen! I loved your letter, it was so nice reading about the history behind each recipe. I love that! I also watch the Barefoot Contessa. It is quite ironic that Marcie and I were your partners. I too laughed at that. You did amazing on your first recipe swap and I hope you continue to swap recipes every month. Thanks again for the great recipes. You made my day!!! Stephanie

Re: Christmas In July Recipe Swap - RECEIVED!!!

I received my first packet of recipes from Angie (bucks_fanatic) today.  Wow you went above and beyond!!!  First I would like to say thank your for the chrismas card (I wish I had thought of it) and for your letter. Next I would like to say thank you for the 9 recipe cards and the 9 candy recipes.  I had never seen a chees log like the recipe you sent me.  The smokehouse spagetti sounds like one we go out for-we really like it buts its a little pricey-so I will probably try that one first.  The pumpkin cookies are a recipe I had looked for, but didn't have.  I had them at a ladies retreat a few years ago and loved them.   Thank you for the candy recipes as well. I make a pretzel candy also, but use the  square pretzels and top with rolo candy put in the oven till soft and as soon as you remove from the oven you press a pecan half on top, something like a turtle candy, but the sweet and salt is an awesome combo.  One again THANK YOU very much.

Stephanie, I'm so thrilled to have made your day, and I hope you enjoy the recipes as much as I do!  I love making homemade items to give as gifts, so hot cocoa & cookies just seemed to be a perfect combination.  It's also great to know that there is another big fan of snowball cookies!  In CA, I think they are more commonly referred to as wedding cookies or crescent cookies, but coming from the midwest (Missouri originally), they will alway be referred to as snowball cookies by me and my family!

    Happy Cooking!

What a nice surprise to open my mailbox today and find an envelope with recipes from Rachelle Stratton (rachellestratton).  You must know I have a sweet tooth and all of the recipes will be must-tries in my house!  IThe problem is, I'm not sure what I should make first:  the coffee cake, potica, sugar cookies, baklava, or baked ham.  Our tummies will be quite happy!

I also loved the note about the recipes and the adorable holiday recipe cards that you sent to me as well...they will be put to very good use!

Christmas in July is FANTASTIC...if only the temp was a bit cooler & not so humid!

    Thanks again, Rachelle!

    With warm, holiday regards,

    Laura
