Thanks, Laura, for the wonderful sounding recipes. They came late last week and I thought that I had posted, but alas no post is here. I'm looking forward to trying all of them.

Eloise, I also got your package with the darling dish cloth and all the stickers. Thanks so much! That was very sweet of you.

    Thanks again, both of you!

Re: Christmas In July Recipe Swap - RECEIVED!!!

I received five great-sounding recipes in this morning's post from Micah, five nice blank cards and a really nice personal letter.    The recipes all sound so good - probably because two of them are already my favorites (Fruit Cocktail Cake and Peanut Brittle).  I've been making the Fruit Cocktail Cake for over 40 years, but it looks like the recipe I've been using isn't complete.  I never knew it had a frosting!  I will definitely be telling my mother about this (she's the one I received the recipe from in the first place), AND I'll definitely be making this dessert again...WITH the frosting.  I make several batches of Peanut Brittle every Christmas.  I made it in the States, and now I make it on this side of the pond.  Micah's recipe is slightly different than mine, however, so I'm going to try hers as well.  You can never have too much Peanut Brittle (I always say).  The rest of the recipes sound wonderful as well:  Chocolate Pudding Dessert (defo on my To Try list), Creamy Baked Chicken, and Party Potatoes.

    Thank you so much, Micah!

Laura, Jackie and Mollie I'm glad to know you liked the recipes. My husband loves ham instead of prime rib at Christmas because he gets more pork for his buck. lol I've found the cheapest place for a whole ham is Walmart and its the Cooks brand just like at the grocery store.

I got some yummy recipes from Karen! How did you get all the calorie info, too? I love it but the holidays are one time I'm dreading. I've been doing really good on watching what I eat and moving more. But I will be trying these recipes any way.

I received from both of my recipe swap partners for the month of July.  I received one last week and I received one this week.  The one that I received last week was from Angela  and the one this week was from Lynn.  Angela I am sorry that I did not post last week but at the time I did not have the internet so I could only check my e-mails and do small things at my mil because of the kids wanting the computer.  I would like to thank both of you for the recipes that you both sent to me.  Thank you both again.

I received delicious sounding recipes and beautiful recipe cards from Jackie V.  I really enjoyed her letter.  Jackie, I have 3 cousins who have the same problem you do, and I can sympathize.  I also have an incurable situation, and am having surgery today for a shoulder injury, and will have to have knee surgery in the near future.  That is why I am so late responding.

    Good Luck,
