Healthy Choices Fourth of July Weekend 7/4th&5th/09

Hello from HOT, STEAMY central Texas.  I think we're right around 100, but that's pretty normal for us.

Some good news....our daughter-in-law's father got out of the hospital. He was in for 2 months and 3 days!!  I haven't heard what kind of home health or physical therapy he'll need, but at least he's home.

I have this week to work then will be off for vacation.  I plan to go to Wichita Falls, where I grew up from 4th grade on, and just see how things have changed.  My brother still lives there...may or may not see him.  I seem to stay on my siblings' "you know what" list, so I'll decide whether or not to even call.  But I want to drive thru the old neighborhoods, by the schools, etc. 

Viny, I'm sorry to hear about your brother in law....is your sister ok? How is Pat's brother doing?

Anyone talk to Marti?

Hi, Just wanted to let you know that I tried Marti on her cell phone and didn't get an answer.  I didn't want to try the house in case Joe was resting and the ring would disturb him. 

I left a short message letting her know that we're all thinking about them and asking her to please check in with someone or the BB with a short message when she has time.

She's probably busy packing for the big move, or maybe Randy and the baby came in to visit.  Praying that she and Joe are both doing well.   Jo Ann

I just spoke to Marti a few minutes ago and she's doing as well as she can under the circumstances.  She did ask me to post for her saying that she's been without her computer and at times even without her phone.

Joe is not doing well.  Marti said that he is not strong enough to do very much at all.  They are both hoping and praying that the new house will be finished soon and wanting very much to make the move into it.  Marti has given the builder a deadline for the floors to be done and she is doing everything necessary to see that he meets it.

I assured her of our continued prayers.  She said that the doctor gave Joe something to stimulate his appetite and it is working.  If there was ever a time for our combined prayers, it is now.  We all believe in the power of prayer and know that miracles can and do happen.  

Let us, now, when our prayers are needed so urgently,  pray every day and often, for the healing power of God's love to touch Joe and give him strength, heal his heart and help him to gain back the strength he needs. In Jesus name. Amen.

Hi everyone.  Just checking in quickly while I have the chance.  Will be keeping Joe and Marti in my thoughts, too.   This is one strange visit for me.  Will tell you all more when I get back to Finland.  Anyway, I am eating too much and moving too little and that makes for lethargy.  Hope you are all keeping well and enjoying good weather.   I'm thinking of you!   lusi
