Grammy my first car was a VW camper. My sisters and  took a lot of trips in that camper. I felt more secure behind locked doors while I was sleeping since we were three females all alone. Generally traveled with at least 2 dogs and a cat.

Yep, Grammy, you got it.  It's those presses and you put in the fire to make the sandwiches.  DD is getting very good at it and doesn't burn things.

Hi, Grammy. Glad you had a nice day and a friend to do things with.

MJ, I'm with you on the crusts. I thought that was what Wanda was talking about with those pies. We had one of each, too.

Wanda, I didn't know those treats had a name. We just called them camp sandwiches or camp pies.

The mosquitoes came out and I came in. They like me too much, especially my rear end.

I never heard them called Mt pies though. Call them whatever you want to they're good. What kind do you usually make?

Laura has a sandwich maker, so we can make the pies right in the house.

Before I got married and hunted with my dad, he would always make a campfire and then get twigs and toast our sandwiches over the fire.  Mmmmm, so good, and so simple.

Hi ATV skeeters are bad here too. When I'm in the yard they look for those bare legs!

I think you shoud really think about an ATV group in the next parade. There was a little of everything in this one. About 1 1/2 hr long. A whole lot of bands but not a drum majorette with any of them...sniff, sniff..We are obsolete now!

Nancy how do they get to your rear end LOL Cover up girl I don't care if they bite me I am not allergic to them and it does not hurt they can be a bit annoying if real thick though. I was told when I was little if you held your breathe while they were biting they could not pull out of your skin and they would explode. I don't know how many times I tried to make one explode and it did not work LOL .  I would sit and wait for them to bite me. I really was one wierd kid. No

Glad to see you had a fun time today Gramy.   I agree, an ATV group would be nice for the parade.  We took the big flag that we have at work to carry in a parade today, but I can't do that.  I've never been to this celebration - just a tiny town and they have hugh crowds, so not a good place for me.

I've only ever heard them called mountain pies.  Guess it is another regional thing.

Nancy, my sister has reactions to mosquito bites.  She was told to take B1 or B2.  Your body produces and odor that they don't like.  Of course, we can't smell the odor.
