    gang's all here

I love this magazine. I really loved the gang's all here section and the section where readers asked for help so here I am asking for help.

I know it was in the gangs all here section and it was in an issue from the late 90's

I am sad to say I have lost one of my favoite baked bean recipies Can anyone HELP?? I know it called for a 5 lb can of baked beans, 1 or 2 lbs of bacon and liquid smoke among other things. I have searched everywhere even this site and I can't seem to find it.

Thanks in advance for any help

I found this one in the 2000 annual.  It's called Smoky Beans.  There were no  large quantity baked beans recipes in the late 90's editions.

    Smoky Beans

    3 pounds sliced bacon,diced

    3 medium sweet onions, chopped

6 cans (28 ounces each) baked beans, undrained

6 cans (16 ounces each) kidney beans, rinsed and drained

6 cans 15 1/2 ounces each butter beans, rinsed and drained

3 pound miniature fully cooked smoked sausage links, cut into thirds

    3 cups packed brown sugar

    1 1/2 cups ketchup

    1 1/2 cugs vinegar

    1 tablespoon garlic powder

    1 tablespoon ground mustard

In a large Dutch oven cook the bacon until crisp.  Drain, reserving 3 tablespoons drippings.  Set bacon aside.  In the drippings, saute onions until tender.  Combine the beans. sausage, bacon and onions.  Combine the remaining ingredients; add to bean mixture and mix well.  Pour into 4 greased 13 x 9 x 2 baking dishes.  Bake, uncovered at 350 for 45 to 55 minutes or until heated through.  Yield: 90 - 95 servings.
