This is for those who shop online..ex:amazon, etc.

I read somewhere that the more you keep looking up a price on something, (and I think they were speaking of amazon) the price will not drop. Does anyone know if there is any truth to this?

Here is an example of you MAY be talking abput.

If ten sellers all try to sell the same new book: the one who sells it cheapest will be the first on the list, then comes the next one (a bot highrr in price) until you arrive at seller #10 who is trying to  make the most profit and has the hughest price on the book.

    Is that what you meant?

Your question is bit unclear about what you mean.

No, I don't buy from Amazon or ebay because I do not want to mess with a paypal account.  The few things i order I look for certain websites to order from. If it is a SECURE site I use my credit card,  others I have dealt with beofre I may send a check by registered mail. Don't buy much by mail, only what I absolutely need and can't get here.

If you're asking whether there's some sort of software that tracks what you look at and merchants then somehow don't lower their price on the item because they know you're interested in it... I don't think so. If they know you want it enough to keep checking the price, it would make more sense for them to drop the price so that you'll actually break down and buy it. I don't know if they even do that, but it doesn't make sense that they'd lock in a high price and thus potentially lose a sale.

They weren't talking about e-bay. It was more like amazon.

Say you saw something on there and were thinking about making the purchase. And every week you were checking the item out. Maybe you were undecided between two different items. But you kept going back checking on the item.  Well I read where they keep track of what you are looking at, and the price won't drop because they are tracking you and see you are interested.

I was wondering if there was any truth to this.

From a software standpoint, they could be and most likely are tracking how many people look at an item. If you are a registered user, they could see how many times you looked at that item. But like MarthaM said, from a business standpoint it doesn't make sense to keep it at a high price if people are looking but not buying.

This is exactly what I'm trying to say...but somehow the right words just weren't coming today..lol Thanks MarthaM

I have never had a problem with Paypal. I gave them a credit card number though never a bank account. The billing has always been right on the money, so to speak, and it is so easy.
