love the fireworks

i am tone of few luycky folksin my city because a local park puts on a huge firework display every 4 th of july.  this park isjust east of my home and i can sit on the front porch and view all the displays without even leaving home.  so i plan to fix some snacks and park myself on the front lawn and enjoy the show.  it is great because i don't have to fight trafficor wait in line to use the restroom.  i can even view them in my jammies

DH and I watched the Macy's Fireworks on TV. Boy, they really put on a nice show. Thanks Macy's

I haven't seen you post for a while. How are you? I'm glad you're enjoying yourself on this Independence Day. I'm not a big fireworks fan but I know a lot of folks are so I'm glad you have a ring side seat!

Last night I watched the ones from the next town over. The view from here is just about as good as being right there in the park where they set them off, without the traffic issues and other hassles. I love fireworks but not so much in a crowd. I watched them with the two little kids from next door. They had these cool glasses (cardboard & plastic) that made the fireworks look really neat when you watched through them. I'm not sure how to describe it, kind of like watching through a kaleidoscope.

I'm surrounded by fireworks going off around my home that it's downright scary.
These are HUGE fireworks like the ones you're seeing now.
Children are even going down my street shooting off loud firecrackers.
It's illegal for the citizens in my state to shoot them off too.

I love watching them, too.  I think every neighbor on our street, at the new house, came to us  within the past week, to tell us we could watch the fireworks from our front yard (they go off about a block away.).  Well, they were right, but the whole display only lasted 8-10 minutes.  It was okay, but I'm used to the displays at our old house--where we can stay home and see the fireworks from 3-4 towns, and the short ones are at least a half hour long, with the better ones lasting a good 45-60 minutes. 

Still, it was nice, because there were other neighbors out and we got to chatting with them.
