Coffee [C] Sunday Coffee Shoppe - Good Morning West Coasters, LOL

I'll be throwing some burgers on the grill shortly for the East Coasters, but I figured the West Coasters would still do coffee! LOL

Krissy - that cake was yummy!  You can find the recipe & picture here...

I've been putzing around today, I'd really like a nap - but not sure that's going to happen.  Just too much to do!

My current project is to find a home for 80 Iris bulbs!  Yes...80, LOL.  We do a flower fundraiser for baseball & they screwed up the order.  They were supposed to send prizes for the kids, puzzles & yo-yo's.  Instead, they sent flower bulbs! LOL.  I offered to send them back, but the company told me they can't sell them - they'd have to throw them away, so I should plant them!

Good thing I have SIL's backhoe for the week! LOL

    How's everyone today?

Mornin Suzie.... thanks for the coffee...gonna be another barn burner here today...I am so ready for the projected cool down they say tomorrow or Tuesday... mid 70's are sounding pretty nice!

I have a bunch of Iris bulbs that need to be seperated.. does anyone know how to do it? also Hosta's that are going ape s!ht!!  these things are almost as tall as me! and overtaking where I have  them.. can I move them or seperate them?

I made a peach upside down cake for yesterday(did it at Midnight Friday night when it was cooler... OMG that was good!  My dad sure enjoyed it... he is not a dessert person but if it involves peaches he will eat it!

Teresa you can just dig those hostas up & divide them with a shovel, I almost think you can do the same with Iris.  I know on the hostas, if you look at the base - you can see where they divide.  They'll both do crappy the first year after you split them, but then they should be fine.

I think that cake recipe I posted would be awesome with peaches.  I also think you could leave the marshmallows out pretty easily.

It's beautiful here in NY today.  70º with a nice breeze & sunshine!  Come on over!

Hi, everyone. It's a little cooler here today with a little bit of rain this morning and it's overcast which makes it better.

Hope everyone had a nice 4th.

Not much going on here. I'm going to grill some ribs that I saw on the boards not too long ago. You cook them in the oven first then finish on the grill. I'm going to try it.

Hope you all have a great day.

    Waving to everyone.

    Howdy all and happy Sunday!!!

It's finally sunny and suppose to be warmer than the 60's today for the first time in a number of days!!

Yes AKP, you can split hostas w/ a shovel after you dig them up and the same for iris bulbs.  Iris bulbs are shallow, so they aren't very far under the dirt.  I did the hostas last year and the Iris's the year before!!!

    Howdy folks Big Smile

after delaying construction on the house to see if the swallows would leave . hubby checked out the bird house and saw atleast one more baby that still hasn't learned to fly yet. so he had to move the house yesterday. it only took a few minutes to get it on a board and nail the board down to the front of the new deck. the parents didn't have any problems finding the house and resume feeding whatever babies they have left in the nest. Big Smile so now hubby can start building the frames of the walls for the 2nd story.

    Bunny that's wonderful!Yes

Teresa I think you can split them anytime, just so they have enough time to get reestablished before winter.

Happy Sunday!  Got Summer's blueberry coffee cake in the oven.  I think I'll make fried chicken for dinner.  That's easy and I feel lazy.

Teresa, when you divide iris, you can either cut off the new rhizomes and plant them or you can divide the old ones - just make sure each piece has a fan of leaves.  Hostas you can dig now and split.  Give 'em a good shot of Miracle Gro.
