A cheap hickory smoked flavor-no fat!

I bought a bottle of Wrights Hickory Seasoning and added it (following directions on the bottle) to two pounds of pinto beans cooked with onions and salt/pepper.  The flavor was exactly what I would get if I had used ham hocks or bacon, with no fat!  Be careful to not use too much of this seasoning -use the add a little more, stir and taste process.

Also, marinate chicken thighs and legs portions in a mixture of the liquid smoke and water using 1 tablespoon of smoke seasoning to 1 cup of water in a plastic bag.  Marinate for a couple of hours, throw away marinade and place chicken pieces on top of cooked pinto beans seasoned with some molasses, or brown sugar, more onions, and ketchup. Bake in a 350 oven for about 30 minutes. Again, low fat and lots of good smoked flavor..

Where in the store do you find this seasoning?  I have looked in both the spice aisle and the aisle where they sell the babecue sauces in Walmart and have not been able to find it.

Hi Beth- we have used this  product to make beef jerkey and it is fabulous stuff. We mix the  hickory smoked seasoning, soy sauce, a little brown sugar, some water (add  red hot pepper flakes if you want)-- soak very thinly sliced roast and stick in the dehydrator for a few days and it is great....I think that is because thisis such a great product. You should definately try the  jerkey, it doesen't last long because the guys eat it up (have the butched slice a cheap roast for you)-- Enjoy!

Thank you!  I have a dehydrator and can't wait to try this.  I shop in Wal Mart as little as possible so I don't know where the liquid smoke would be - any suggestions for our friend as to where to look?  I recall asking Customer Service in Wal Mart where the  pet (brand) condensed milk was located and they sent me to aisle 9 which was purina dog chow, etc.  I don't don't have much faith in Walmart's customer service group (hope you don't work there!).
