To Congress - The 5 Pledges

    1. I believe in a balanced budget and therefore will vote for a freeze in government spending until that goal is realized.

    2. I believe government should not increase the financial burden on its citizenry during difficult economic times therefore I will oppose all tax increases until our economy has rebounded.

    3. I believe more than 4 decades of U. S. dependance on foreign oil is a travesty therefore I will support an energy plan that calls for immediately increasing usage of all domestic resources including nuclear energy, natural gas, and coal as necessary.

    4. I believe in the sovereignty and security of our country and therefore will support measures to close our borders except for designated immigration points so we will know who is entering and why and I will vehemently oppose any measure giving another country, the United Nations, or any other entity, power over the U. S. citizens.

    5. I believe the United States of America is the greatest country on earth and therefore will not apoligize for policies or actions which have served to free more and feed more people around the world than any other nation on the planet.

    Good Morning!

I just couldn't wait to write the date 7/8/9 today :) Gianna slept through the night for the first time last night. We put her down about 10:30. I got up at 7 and Alex came in shortly after saying Gianna hasn't gotten up all night! Like she was worried. I said Good, that is what she's supposed to do :) It wasn't 5 minutes later she woke up, stretching from a long nights sleep... I love to watch her stretch...

Alex is off to take her entrance exam at the college this am. I will babysit and put together my big salad. My sister is bringing over her 2 DGD's (that are staying with her this week) this am to see the baby too.

    Where is Pat??

    Til later Ladies ~~

    Good afternoon everyone.

Kelly's Mission:  Take a look at the gadgets and small appliances that you use on a regular basis.  When was the last time you cleaned out your toaster; opened up the bottom and dumped the crumbs?  How dingy or dusty is your coffee maker?  Do we even want to talk about the blades on the electric can openers?  How about the outside of the microwave?

Diana - Nice to hear that Gianna slept all through the night. Good luck to Alex today and you have a good time with your DS and her DGD's  DD is trying to get the best flight prices too.  It cost her $150.00 to fly the cat in her carrier under the seat in front of her.  This time as DD was making her way through the Phoenix AP the cat had to pee...yup, down DD's leg.  At least DD didn't have to sit in the wet jeans for long.  LOL

    Yes, Where is Pat?

It's been quiet here with DD and the cat gone.  Our neighbors have wind chimes on their deck and every time I hear them I look down for the cat.  The cat has a collar with a bell and DD's contact info. just in case...

So many distractions this morning.   My lunch is done and I better get this posted and get on with my day.

    Have a wonderful day.

    Dori

    Hi Rosies!

It's still cool here but supposed to warm up to about 85° by the weekend.  I'm feeling unmotivated today, yet there is so much I could be doing.  Think this is the first summer I've had in many, many years of not much going on.

C&B, that's great about the baby sleeping through the night.  Enjoy your visit with your sis and her DGDs.  I think my brothers' grandkids are just as cute as can be.  Love seeing their pics on FaceBook.

Hugs to all.  Have a great Wednesday!~~~Laura

Hi Roses and welcome to the Rose Room, Gara!

Maizey, I'm glad to hear that Bill is doing better but still in ICU.  He's still in my prayers. Hope everything went well for you at the doctors too!

Diana, that's great about Gianna sleeping through the night.  I remember when Joe finally slept thru. He was almost a year old.  Dan slept through at 2 weeks.  No two are ever alike, are they.

Dori, you poor dd....nothing smells worse than cat pee but I'll bet the poor kitty tried to hold it until it finally just had to let go......I know the feeling!!!

Music, I've never made a pineapple upside down cake. On my list of things to do.  Bet it is good.

IM, that's great your nsdd has a job.  I hope she does ok.  I didn't know about the shoplifting thing.  That's too bad. She's young to have such stuff on her record.  I hope the job will turn things around for her.  Good luck!

Nothing new here.  I forgot about today being the 7/8/9 thing. Kind of interesting.  Played golf with the ladies on Monday and did really well.  They are not going to want to play with me anymore. Maybe the gym thing is helping my game.  It's sure helped in other areas, LOL!

Pat was stressed about something.....Pat if you check in I hope everything is ok.

I'm going to have to call Stacy. She has been away for a long time now. Puff, Tango, Fluffy and Lorera.....where are you guys????

Am on my way to a St. Vincent's meeting. Boy, we have a lot of people in our area who need help.  Wish we had more money. It only goes so far!

So glad to hear the Bill is improving!  Continued prayers for both of you!

Diana - How wonderful that Gianna slept through the night.  None of mine did this early.  Well...actually Britt slept through the first night and I was up all night checking on her. Then she didn't sleep through the night again for a couple years! LOL

Yesterday the girls had their annual well checks.  Both got shots (tetnus boosters and menengitis vaccine) and the doctor thinks Catie may have fractured her tailbone.  I have to take her in tomorrow for an x-ray.  If she does, it means several months on a donut.  Dang!  She has gone almost a year without breaking something.  Stick out tongue

It is rapidly cooling off tonight.  IT was 87 when I got home from the grocery store 20 minutes ago, and not it is 81.  Keep on dropping!

    Have a  good evening Roses!

Ow, ow, on Catie's tailbone.  Remember last Christmas day I fell on the ice and hurt mine really bad.  It took about a month for the pain to go away.  Don't think it was broken but then, I didn't get an x-ray to find out.  Hope she feels better.
