Kate, You are correct....and I am the very lucky recipient!!!!! I had a bad day today and was really trying to find something to cheer me up. Nothing was working. When I got home it was raining and lightning so I didn't check the mail at the end of my road. But when the storm passed and we checked it.....I had a package from dear Anna Stodolak with not one...but 3 cookbooks in it!!! Anna, you outdid yourself! It definitely was the thing to cheer me up!!! I am fixing to go fix a cup of coffee, make some banana bread and then sit on my rearend all night and read them!!! Thank you so much. I also loved your letter about each cookbook and why you chose it. I am so excited about the recipes from all of your local restaurants. That is so neat! I have flipped throught the Command Cuisine cookbook and LOVE it. The recipes sound delicious. I would love to go to Amish country. You live in their community? How neat. I bet you get all kinds of great recipes. I hope you have a great visit with your granddaughter. I am sure she will love just being with you and glad to help! =] Oh and it was so neat seeing Nancy Foust's recipes in the cookbook. You must live in the same area?! Thanks Anna, you brightened my day considerably!!

Steph, Glad that you liked the books.  Yes Nancy lives about a 20 minute drive from me.  We are havng a get together this Saturday for a TOH meet here in NW PA because Bren (dinkum) from Australia is visiting the States again. We chose to wait with our usual spring get together to until she got here.  Can't wait to see everyone.

Oh yeah, next time I get your name, I'll have to remember not to give so much information as to where it is going, LOL!

    Sue~sstetzel~Paging Sue!
It's here and what a great cookbook it is!
Thank you so much! Aren't these type cookbooks just the best?
I just love the title~Maple Cows and Monkey Bread and it is chocked full of great recipes! Some I have never heard of and can't wait to try. One recipe I saw immediately brought back a memory of my mom~the Red Hot Jello Salad~as she used to make that for me when I was little and then I used to make that for my kids when they were young. Isn't it funny how one day a recipe goes to the back of the box and you just quit making it?
You want to know what else I REALLY like about this book? It is the index...Yes, the INDEX! It is separated into ingredients and then the name of the recipe. What an easy way to look for a recipe with the ingredients you have. That is very unique and I just love it!
I would imagine that I am not the only one whose eye caught that Cherry Upside Down Pudding recipe~OMG, does that sound good and guess just who came home from the flea market with 5 lbs of sweet cherries! YUM

So that everyone else knows, Sue sent me the cookbook Maple Cows and Monkey Bread, A collection of Favorite Recipes from the Houghton College Family from Houghton, NY. It is quite a gem for my collection!

Thanks again, Sue! What a smile you gave me as I quickly thumbed through this before sitting down here at the computer. I know this book will be used over and over again!
    As always,
    Linda

Kate,  I am so glad my package reached you so quickly.  Glad you liked the book, and the bear.  Our ladies mission group had a great time gathering recipes from the older ladies in the church and a few of the men.  Hope you enjoy our church cookbook.

     Hugs
