Good Morning Dear Friends in Tea. Today's partea is dedicated to this little phrase.
"Just cuz you can't see the air, it dont stop you from breathin', and just cuz you can't see God, it dont stop you from believin' "
The above inspiration came from a remake of The Bishop's Wife retitled, "The Preacher's Wife". I half watched the movie yesterday until those words fairly lept into my mind and heart. I delighted in that and I hope that it reaches right to you wherever you may be.
Welcome to the spirit of 'old fashion' holidays' . A warm hearth, a simple meal, a little bit of inspiration and someone to share a cup of tea with. As my mother would say, 'everything else is gravy.'
My favorite tea is served at Tyme Well Spent tearoom. 'Vanilla Pear' is a black tea that is so aromatic and tasty, I pick it every time. The company who provides it to the tearoom does not sell to the public, but I got lucky and managed to buy 2 precious ounces to brew at home. Now, to blend my own, lol. You would think it would be straight up and easy, but tis not. I am now drying pieces of fresh pear and toying with flavoring the tea leaves with split vanilla beans. There is something missing..maybe a little dried banana or apple...ohhh its the elusive butterfly!
Speaking of little vexxing things, I bought a pretty little watch, brought it home and the little instruction book said to refer to a website for setting instructions. What happened to pulling out the little stem and making it right? Ayone who has bought an electronic thingy lately, knows this fact, nothing new is simple. Just try to buy a car with crank windows. If you live near lots of lakes, best buy the little hammer that allows you to break glass in case of an emergency. Did anyone ever get crushed by a manual garage door? No. Welcome the automatic door...and add the electronic eye after it proves to be a little too quick for you.
Well, I am not complaining as much as I can't quite keep up. Why haven't headlights for slippers and electronic grocery carts that drive the food home arrived? lol.
Dear Elza, That is the perfect gift cake! I do not have the kind of willpower that would save that cake from extinction! In fact, I think I heard of an extinct cake that didn't even make it to the frosting phase a lot like your cake! I look forward to a glowing review.
Dear Kathy, Have you decided on a point of vacation operation? Perhaps we can meet in the middle! You are welcome to come here as well. Time flies faster when you are far from home. I know your dancecard will be very full.
Dear Carolyn, I am basking in the glow of your contentment and adding it to my own. What a joy it is!
Dear Carole, I went out with a purpose yesterday and came home empty of fall decor. Nothing struck me as perfectly suited so, back to the drawing board. The mums I planted have shrivelled up...my neighbor assures me they will pop up next year. Not very comforting when I didn't plant any last year, lol. I don't lack for hoards of colored leaves but DH is determined to remove all traces of them as soon as they hit the ground. He hates cornstalks with a passion, so I have to admire those on the columns of other houses. I did find a nice offering of pumpkins, one variety is called a peanut skin, but, again, DH did not share my enthusiasm. We will agree on something, sometime, I think, ah ha! Every once in a while, I would like to take the string tie in his hooded sweatshirt and....pull it into a tiny circlet so he can't see!
With a little wink, and a good cup of tea. Thank you for visiting and sharing the wealth of life. Your very grateful hostess and friend, Mary
