Hello dearest of angels,   Wanted to jump in real quick.   I have a request,  someone ask me to find an old gospel song.  All they remembered was this lyric,  "old roses never die, they just fade away".  Can anyone help me find this song, author, lyrics any thing.  Will catch you later.

    Hugs

Carol, I found lots of references to "Old Soldiers Never Die, they just fade away", but this is the only so far that I've found that might even be close?

    Where the Roses Never Fade
    Music by Robert Metzgar
Words by Janie West Metzgar, 1929

I am going to a city,
            Where the streets with gold are laid;
Where the tree of life is blooming
            And the roses never fade.
              Chorus:
Here they bloom but for a season
              Soon their beauty is decayed.
I am going to a city,
              Where the roses never fade.

In this world we have our troubles,
            Satan snares we must evade.
            We'll be free from all temptations;
            Where the roses never fade.

              Chorus:
Here they bloom but for a season
              Soon their beauty is decayed.
I am going to a city,
              Where the roses never fade.

Loved ones gone to be with Jesus,
            In their robes of white arrayed;
Now are waiting for my coming,
            Where the roses never fade.

              Chorus:
Here they bloom but for a season
              Soon their beauty is decayed.
I am going to a city,
              Where the roses never fade.

    Dearest Mary,

Thinking of you and your family, and keeping you in my prayers that all will be well.

It's raining tonight, but yesterday was a sunny day so I got a lot of cleaning done on the deck, disposing of plants and putting tools and pots away. All set out there for the winter months ahead so I can breathe a sigh of relief. Now to wait for another warm day to get the other deck done.

Earlier I turned on my electric blanket and am so looking forward to crawling in to read and then drift off to sleep. Hoping you all had a pleasant Sunday and wishing everyone a good week. Goodnight all -

Re: Good Morning Dear Friends in Tea, October 1st, Sweeping out the dust and cobwebs,

Good Morning Dear Friends in "Steaz".  Lol. I have a new tea to present and its just lovely. The company 'Steaz' markets several flavors of canned iced tea, which I found by happenstance at Target. Since I was on a mission with DH to get twinkling lights to cover our arbors down by the garden house, I had to grab and run. The three flavors I found are, 'Green Tea with Peach', 'White Tea with Lime and Pomegranate' and 'Green Tea with Blueberry Pomagranate and Acai'. All are organic, very lightly sweentened and perfectly compatable with a biscuit, cookie or a meal.  I will purchase these again and again.

Thanks to Mother Nature our weather has taken a turn from the frightful and moved into delightful. the mildness of the air and lack of wind, makes the colored leaves very ethereal and lovely.

Today is a special day for me, as my results come in. It will change the way I do things most certainly. I had the oddest pattern of thoughts yesterday and had decided to not call at all, but that won't do. A coward dies a thousand deaths, a brave man [or woman]..one. If I can't be brave, at least I can act bravely.

I thank everyone for the prayers on my behalf and the friendship is just amazing. Let me serve you please.

Thank you Carole for the inspiring song request and thank you Susie for being the queen of search and find. I love just seeing the words right here today.

A teapot full of blessings sits right in the middle of our wonderful table and its for everyone to enjoy.

Dear Anne, I need to follow your grand example and get my outside work wrapped up. I think you earned your sleep and the cozy electric blanket in a lovely way.

Your very grateful hostess and friend, mary

Re: Good Morning Dear Friends in Tea, October 1st, Sweeping out the dust and cobwebs,

Good afternoon dearest of angels,  well my computer is acting crazy and would not let me on this morning.  I think it knew I was running late, as ususal.

Mary,   Glad things went ok today.  Our weather has been really nice the past couple of days,  then tomorrow it is suppose to rain again.  That is the pattern lately,  rain a few days, pretty a few days,  One thing is that we are actually having fall weather.  We usually just go from  hot to cold and nothing in between.  I really like fall weather.

Susie,  Thanks again for the website and the song.

Anne,  glad to see you.  hope you and DH are doing good.

I guess Kathy is running the roads this week.  I know she is having a great time.

Well everyone have a great afternoon, and sweet dreams,  I have to go do a few chores before bedtime.

    Hugs

Re: Good Morning Dear Friends in Tea, October 1st, Sweeping out the dust and cobwebs,

Well, we had an adventurous weekend. My high school class had their 30-year reunion so we went to a football game Friday night, followed by some social time at the local pool hall. Then on Saturday night we had dinner. Lots of memories, but my goodness, I was thankful for those name tags!

Then on Sunday morning we learned that a rockslide had closed I-40 between Asheville and Knoxville. Since that is our principal route through the mountains, we had to make other plans. My DBIL gave us directions for a "back roads" way through north Georgia and North Carolina to Cleveland, TN, where we could get onto I-75 below Knoxville. It was a travel adventure through some very unpopulated National Forests, with brilliant fall foliage all around. In Tennessee we were following the Ocoee River, where the kayak and rafting competitions for the 96 Olympics were held. Sheer rock bluffs on one side of the road, white water on the other. I was glad DH was at the wheel for that part of the trip! Once we got back on the interstate, I took over and let him get a nap.

Here's a link to my Facebook reunion album if you are interested:

Mary, thinking of you and praying for peace, whatever the results.

    Good morning dearest of angels,

Susie,  She thinks it is right.  She has to show it to her husband and find out.

Elza,  sounds like a fun trip.    I would like to ride up in the mountains.

Mary,  Carolyn, Lisa Faye,  have a great day

Re: Good Morning Dear Friends in Tea, October 1st, Sweeping out the dust and cobwebs,

Good Morning Dear Friends in Tea. I bring with me the most astonishing news. The area is benign, and for that, I am deeply grateful. What truly has everyone puzzeled is...what it is. Nobody knows what it is it fights conventional thought. The surgeon says, it appears...as if it is healing. That is indicated by an area of light all around it.

My Dr. finally called late last night, after I had given up trying to reach her. I had a cryptic conversation earlier with the surgical nurse, who of course could not tell me anything. There is a plan to be considered for surgical intervention, but, I can repeat the tests in 6 monthes and consider that outcome.

I believe firmly, that the prayers offered for me, changed everything. A gift, the best kind. Why, I do not now know. Just that.I had more time than I wanted to consider how I would live if the outcome was difficult. I prayed that I would be be strong in any circumstance. I honestly didn't know how I could do it, except in small sips, little ways.

I hope you will indulge me for a moment and lift a cup, to Good News! I am deeply grateful for your prayers. Beyond that I feel like a blithering mess...and it's going to be an amazing day.

Your very grateful hostess and friend, Mary

Mary, reading that just gave me chills, in a good way. God is indeed good, and He does answer prayer. Thank You Lord!
