Asparagus is a vegetable that I love very much. As a child I remember my parents taking us for walks along the country roads we lived on, we would always find bunches of tender asparagus shoots growing alongside the roads and would come home with a big bundle for my mother to cook for dinner. Now that I am an adult with my own children, I wanted to be able to pass on that love of this delicious green vegetable on to them but with a little twist to make it even more delectable and fun and that is how I came up with this recipe for a tantalizing tart topped with juicy asparagus and melted zesty Fontina cheese. Everyone asks me to make this appetizer to pass whenever possible because they just can't get enough! I have entered this recipe into a couple of different contests already and placed 1st and 2nd place so I know it is a winner and worth Grand Prize for sure.
