Good Morning Dear Friends in Tea, November is a Blessing

Good Morning Dear Friends in Tea. Welcome to the most delightful month in the calendar. Lets gather together and share a cup of tea, by candlelight or the warm glow of crackling logs in the fireplace. Later on, we can play Supermarket Sweep and feast our eyes, ears and hearts poised on Thanksgiving.

We have so much to celebrate and for once, we get that extra hour, to frost the cake we are always wishing for, lol.

I am always amazed that timelines and titles have been set in stone so long ago. Why, hasn't someone lobbied to change the name of a month? Are they all so perfect that everyone actually agrees on something? Agreement. Its something to think about.

Today I have the best feeling, and I really want to make a holiday. Your very grateful hostess and friend, Mary

Re: Good Morning Dear Friends in Tea, November is a Blessing

Good afternoon to everyone.  We are having some days of mild temps, little wind and bright sunshine that just makes the colorful foliage on the trees look like they have a back light behind them.  I love Indian Summer days.  DH and I have been on the run all day, and his knee is reminding him as he sits in his recliner with an ice pack on it.  Luckily, most of the running was his idea.  Still I hate to see that cranky knee giving him fits.

We got a good deal on a trellis.  I have been wanting one and we found a lovely redwood one on sale.  It has coppery green leaves for decorations in both side panels.  It had been 200 dollars, down to 139 and we got 10% off that.  I could not resist.  Wish I could plant some vines on it now-but that will come in Spring.  Anybody have ideas?  I love the Cardinal vine-so lacey with the little red flowers.  Do you know which one I mean.  I think you can plant it from seed.  Any other ideas welcome.

Mary, got another new tea catalougue, and that makes me think of you.  Don't you love looking and seeing all of the lovely names and types of teas?  Like "Dream by the Fire Tea,"Pink Lady Apple Tea,Tea of Good Tidings,  Christmas Blessings, etc.  It is fun just to look!

Waving and smiling at LisaFaye...and wishing you a perfect evening!

Dear Carolyn, You trellis sounds so lovely! I am not familiar with the Cardinal Vine but I am anxious to find it on line. I hope someone else has experience with it and can advise you. I had a white trellis and planted Seedless Black Raspberry vines and boy, was it hardy. DH doesn't like anything that doesn't 'grow straight and behave so he gave it a bald haircut...it came back ever stronger, and the fruit was so abundant I had my freezer full all winter for baking.

    Today DH and I went to the local consignment shop and much to my delight I found a perfect vintage Christmas tablecloth. It is just lovely with poinsettias, toy soldiers, Santas, ribbons and greenery.  I also got a lovely picture that has hand pressed daisies between glass and this saying;

"Be Yourself, The most important thing you'll ever do is to become who you were meant to be."

I was so thrilled with my tablecloth and thoughts of the holidays. I had to get out my favorite Poinsettia oval casserole dish and...practice for leftovers!  Now you are going to ask where I have been all of my life when I tell you it is the first time I layered cooked chicken tenderloins, thawed broccoli and cheese, a can of chicken soup plus 1/2 C milk and covered it with prepared stuffing. It was a dinner party in the making and surprise....company arrived! That just couldn't happen twice, could it? I hope so!

I would also like to report a lovely tea healing. DH has had a red puffy eye with no relief. I convinced him to hold a warm Chammomile teabag on it. After two short applications his eye felt and looked much better. Ahhhh now that really makes for a smile.

    Nitey nite.....snuggle in.....Your friend, mary

Good afternoon dearest of angels,  Hope everyone has had a great Monday.    My day has been good.

Kathy is home.  She is going to have to start taking me with her.

Mary,  I have heard that warm tea bags help take the swelling and redness out of where ever it is applaid.  I heard using it on insect stings was good.

Carolyn,  Sounds like a good deal on you got on the trellis.

Lisa Faye,  waving  hello to you.

Well need to run and finish up supper,  will be ready in a few minutes, come and get it,  Cheeseburgers, and fries.  Have you looked outside and seen the full moon,  It is so clear and bright here tonight

Have a great afternoon and sweet dreams,

    Hugs

Good Morning Dear Friends in Tea. I am dedicating the day to that delicious, easy spontaneous happening that takes care of itself. Isnt' that the nicest feeling?

Going my way? Let's walk together, with the breeze lightly blowing from the back.

The sky is showing off in pastel ribbons of pink and white over blue. What a perfect backdrop for a party! Your very grateful hostess and friend, Mary

Good morning dearest of angels in tea,  Oh it is a beautiful morning here.  40° and the slighest of breezes.  I love this weather,  30-40 at night, and 60-70 during the day.  I just love it.  I wish it would stay like this all the time.   Did you see the beautiful full moon.    It was so clear here and it just looked huge hanging against the dark velvet night sky.

    Good morning Mary.

Well got to run angels,  Everyone have a great day,

    Hugs

Look who has come in with clean socks sliding over a fresh waxed floor.  I'm back!

I had such a wonderful time, in Michigan and Canada.  There is absolutely nothing better than good friends and family and lots of laughs.  Every day was consumed with visiting more and more people.  I was on again, off again, with Mary but at the last minute we were going to meet then Earl came down with illness.  Low grade temperature, cold and cough made flying home less than desirable for him but he is well on the way to mending.  Did I mention that crabbiness was part of the illness too?  Good think I purchased 3 seats for our travel  It alowed a seat between us so we didn't have to share germs.  LOL!

Waving to everyone and sharing my big smile with you.

    Hugs

    Kathy

Hi Carole, I have such a lovely picture in my mind of the moon and clear skies! What a pretty description. I hope you have a wonderful day.

Dear Kathy, I am so delighted that you and Earl arrived home safe and sound. Yes...an extra seat can make all the difference in comfort. I truly am sorry we were not able to connect on your visit. I think that the aftermath of stress and worry knocked my feet out from under me. We will meet next time you come.

I thought I might give a little forewarning, without causing anyone a distress. I got a swineflu shot with DH on Friday. I really didn't think a thing of it and in truth my arm wasn't swollen or sore in the least. But, since then, I have really felt unwell and can't seem to get enough sleep. Tina had a bit of the same reaction to hers. I don't think that anyone who is advised to get innoculated should be afraid of that, but its good to be prepared. I had paid in advance for tickets to a little program Halloween night and very nearly cancelled. Perhaps its best to leave a little space for the unexpected.

    Your friend, mary

Mary, sorry you have had difficulties following the vaccine. #2 son was able to get the mist version at school yesterday -- hopefully he will not have any reaction to it.

Beautiful day again today -- a friend & I went to an IMAX film this morning about Van Gogh. It was beautiful but very sad; he created such beautiful works but was so lonely during his short life. He only sold one painting in his lifetime and today they are worth millions and millions of dollars.

I have a sample tea bag upstairs that I need to try -- from some that we got at work, don't really remember how. Anyway, it is eggnog-flavored tea. I like eggnog, and I like tea, but I can't quite imagine them together. I'll let you know how it is.

I think DH and I are going to the movies tonight -- it's $5 Tuesday. I'm thinking we will try Amelia. Looks interesting and Amelia Earhart is such a fascinating character.

Re: Good Morning Dear Friends in Tea, November is a Blessing

    Hello to all this evening,

Elza, please give us a review of Amelia.  DD and I or my Sis and I often go to movies, but DH refuses.  He thinks it is outrageous what they charge for popcorn and cokes so he plays like he is Scrooge when it comes to attending LOL.

Mary, I just cannot stand the time change we do 2 times annually. When I was teaching, it certainly threw the kids off for about a week, too.  I will get over it, but my mind keeps saying, "it is really NOT 8 0'clock. etc lol  My Mom used to do that and drove me crazy!  Could I be getting old?

I must confess that I did not get a lovely trellis at all, but a redwood ARBOR.  There is a difference-anyway I still love it( even more than a trellis) which I already had.  Yes, I may be aging ever so slightly!

A Blessed evening and lovely sleep to all.  Carolyn

Re: Good Morning Dear Friends in Tea, November is a Blessing

    Good Evening Everyone,

Today was another lovely day here quite cool but nice.  It was election day here for local municipal offices - school committee, city council and mayor.  My neice's husband is running for school committe and of course I hope he gets a spot on it but I probably won't kow until tomorrow as the results will not be all over TV like state and national elections.  The weather was nice which helps but there is usually a very low trunout here for local elections which is so sad.  Those people who stay home have no right to complain about the elected officials - they had their chance to have a say.

Mary, your purchases sound lovely.  You will enjoy that tablecloth and it won't be long before the holidays are here so it can grace your table.  Thanks for the advice about the swine flu shot.  I am not sure if I will be getting the shot as it is still in short supply.  They keep changing the criteria for being eligible.  You are right thogh about being prepared forthe side effects.

Mimit, your trellis or arbor sounds lovely and I am sure you will enjoy it.  Cardinal vine is very nice.  I planted it once but I was too late for any real blooming.  Do you like black eyed Susan vine?  I forget the real name of it.  Every year I say I am going to try it.  I remember the time change did throw the kids in school off but the payoff was that so often the clocks would not have been changed which really caused confusion.

Carol, it loks like you are having the perfect weather, chilly at night but just right temperatures during the day.  I heard we might get a sprinkling of the white stuff later in the week.  I was noticing how beautiful the moon was tonight when I was on my way to a meeting at Church.

Kathy, I am glad that Earl is feeling better.  It is no fun to be on a plane feeling under the weather.  It's too bad you and Mary were not able to meet up.  Wouldn't it be fun if we all could meet somewhere.  Are you still planning a trip to new England sometime?

Elza, Van Gogh did have a sad life, althoug it probably is responsible for him creating such fine art.  I am sure the IMAX movie was spectacular. The Museum of Fine Arts in Boston had an Inplresionist exhibit a few years ago that would take your breath away.   I saw eggnog tea at the market during the holidays last year.  Not being a huge fan of eggnog, I didn't try it.  Let me know how it is.

Lisa, nice to see you waving at us.

I will say good night now and sweet dreams.

Well, we enjoyed Amelia but I don't know that it will win any Oscar nominations. Hillary Swank is very good, and looks very similar to Amelia Earhart, and Richard Gere is good as well. I was a little disappointed that with such interesting characters, the movie didn't seem to get very deep in developing them. You don't really learn why they are the way they are. She was a very liberated woman and a very interesting one. It was kind of hard to watch, since you already know the ending.

Hedgie, I had to wonder if Van Gogh's mental illness had been treated, would he have created the wonderful art that he produced? He might have been happier and more stable but less of an artist. Who knows?

Good morning angels,  I really could of stayed in bed this morning.  I know the week is half over and the weekend  is near.  I am trying to decide if I want to do a booth at a fall festival the weekend of the 14th.  I am leaning toward doing it.  I still have a lot of bears from the last time that got rained out.    Maybe that weekend will be good.

Have a great day everyone and be safe

    Good evenng Ladies,

Have had a busy day tday.  I bought a Butterfly Bush today and one of the ever-blooming hydrangeas.  DH and I got them planted and some other shrubs trimmed.  Slowly he is helping with getting the yard buttoned up for colder times.  I also found Cardinal vine seeds on line and some Moonflower seeds so I ordered them.  I am already thinking Spring and we have not had a freeze here yet.  At least I am forward and not back-looking. lol

Am ready for some quiet TV in my Jammies.  See you later.  Blessings to all.  Carolyn
