MORNING GRANNIES   Sun is shining very brightly today.  Temps. in the upper 40's.  I didn't get dressed yet.  I'm a bad girl.  By the time I do get dressed in about six hours it will be dark out again.  I have my washer going.  I got DH two new hooded jackets from Haband for $38.  I have one in the washer now.  DH went to Aldi's for me this morning to get a few things for me.  Bed is made & I asked DH to run the sweeper in his domain & that will be cleaned for awhile.  I want to bake something today with pumpkin.  Nancy comes tomorrow.

CJ  Great news your finally feeling better.

JUSTME  Glad you got your laundry done.    Lots of days off coming for you.  I know you like that.Smile

APPLE  What a collection that gentleman has for sale.  I'd love to see the Christmas ornaments.

STYLIST  Isn't it nice to get a good nights sleep? I laid in bed a few hours before I fell asleep, but I have alot on my mind with SIL waiting for that phone to ring.  Buttercup was restless last night in my bed so that didn't help either.

GRAMMY   Won't be long now till the wedding.  Enjoy Becca tonight.

Well I gotta get started.  Get my baking done & maybe finish my bedroom.  BBL

Had a nice time at the NH.  DB came and accompanied me with his guitar.  He is very accomplished, so that makes it fun.  Nearly all my family plays some instrument and that's what we do at family gatherings - play music.  It's fun and bridges the generation gap.  He also brought me 2 gallons of cracked pecans.  Let the baking begin...

OH MY...we have a confirmed case of H1N1 in our 4 yr old class.  We have been busy disinfecting everything.

Had a nice lunch at Applebees.  But now I'm feeling sluggish again.  Still coughing, but not quite as much.  I sure hope it is finally going away.

It's Tim Horton's day.....so I'll be off in a bit to join up with the other ladies. A nice big cup of hot tea will taste good.

Sharonb...not my DD's b'day yet.  That comes later this month when she will be 23...my baby.

Lily....haven't heard much from the travelers, but they did go to Mar de las Pampas over the weekend and are getting ready to visit Iguazu Falls.  DS#1 had said they would be doing some traveling on this visit.

Cleo...what a wonderful idea to make such a book for your DM.  I'm sure all the residents really enjoy your piano playing days.

Gramsuzi...I'll check out the pics a little later when I have time.

I'll check back in a bit...................

Alby: Does that mean that your neighbors nice pile of leaves are set to blow into your yard and/or someone elses'. That would not be nice thing to do.  I hope you get to do all the sewing you planned for the day. No rain w/s mixed in also.

Atv: I stopped along at the party shop, but it was gone! I then went to Dollar General to get pink, prize ribbons for the girls to wear to school tomorrow; it says HB on it. Their DF is going to bring lunch from McD's to them and I'll be making some cupcakes in the cone for them in the morning. Didn't have time today and it's early release also.  I still have my white load in th dryer but just must get off my feet for a spell. I hope you get lots of deals at the store. There is no dbl coupon day here.

bb2: That's awful stuff you mentioned for you all. Some Grannies are adventuresome but I've only had my tootsies done once or twice and a light pink. Thank you. McKayla's face is doing really good. She has an 1/8" pink line from her eye to almost her ear. Dr. says it's healing really good; maybe they won't have to wait until she's 12 or so to do the plastic surgery. Her other booboos are healing quite nicely also.  I don't mind doing all the washing but I do not like to put it away. Have always been that way and shopping is the same.

Stylist: I try to do what I can for my room and board:) DD doesn't have time.

Lily: I'd say that quilt was well worth the time you spent but, he just might keep it also, even when you give him a new one. I'm not imagative for designing things like the tree either.

Cleo: What a memory for you and your DM and the 'lady down the hall'. I told my DD to do a journal of her DD as she goes with her to so many dance things. Recitals, competitions, and such; esp. when I saw her picture with Mr. Trisha ? from DWTS. I think it would be a great scrapbook for her one day.

Have to fold that load.. then I'm going to lie down and read.

SHARONB  I'm sure you earn your keep.  What kind of work does your dd do?

CJ  You make sure you don't have H1N1!!!  Maybe a trip to the Dr. would be a wise thing.  Are you running a temp?

CLEO  I think there's something special about a musical family!!  I love it.

ICOOK  Praying for you and your DSIL.

DEBBIE  No sewing yet but I think I finally have my squares cut.

DGD called last night wanting to take DH and me out for supper.  We tried to talk her out of it, (money) but she wouldn't take "no" for an answer.  She works at Bob Evans so that's where we'll be eating.  We are blessed!!

Stylist---As my DGM would say,"when you don't allow someone to do something for you, you rob them of their blessing"  Just relax and let her give to you. She probably loves doing it for you, and most of all, being able to.  Big Smile

    Re: 11-4-09 Grannie Neighborhood

It turned into a gray, gloomy, windy day. It's 43*, but I feel cold here in the house. I put all the laundry away, ironed and then cleaned my living and dining rooms. All the bending, stretching, moving furniture, etc. had  done a thing on  my back, so after I ate a late lunch, sat and read and that turned into a nap.  Now it is getting time to think of supper. I'm going to make mac/cheese using the crockpot recipe, as it is so tasty, but just doing it in a casserole in the oven. Feels like a day for that.

Wanda, thanks for refreshing my senior mind about your water situation. Glad you finally got laundry done. I had to go there for a while when DS3 was a baby, with a bucket of stinky diapers, BP (before Pampers!)   I sure wish DH liked stuffed pepper soup!

Suzi, I hear that sewing machine whizzing along at 60 mph!!!

Cleo, lucky to have such a musical family. Our talents only run to talking or reading! LOL

CJ, I think you just need a day of complete rest to recover completely. Hope that flu misses you.

My DH is in a foul mood today. Everything I said or did seemed to be wrong, so it has been pretty quiet around here since morning! I've just stayed out of any place he is!

Better go to the kitchen and clean up the counter and dishes, so I can start dirtying them again!

Gram2five: It was a busy day and now Awana, so won't be home until around 9. Tomorrow I'll make the cone cakes and take them to girls during lunchtime.

Justme: DSIL doesn't want our washer to run into the tank either so he has made a 'gray water' line out to the lawn.  It runs under the ground and then Pops up and out; spreads and we have a nice green area. I made a gray water pit at one of my previous houses but digging a big hole and putting old tires, rock and sand, old tires, rock and sand and covered it. The water goes into the tires and flows out; I believe when my X sold the house he had to remove it.

Liny: Hello; take time to rest between putzes now. Did your DM tell you 'they'd be days like this'...mine didn't.

Stylist: You are getting a lot done today.  My DD is Cafeteria Manager over 2 medium size schools and her DSis is Manager over a large school. They both leave at 5am and get home about 3:30-4pm. Enjoy your meal out with DD. I like Bob Evans

Suzi: You are on a roll too.

Debbie: Yep, you're right; the GN is full of some talented Grannies. Cooking and sewing up a storm and serving others. Hope your day is good also.

Icook: If no one is around, staying in the comfy sleepwear is just fun and relaxing. When the chores are done then you can shower and enjoy the rest of the day. Ummm, how is your SIL doing; I've not seen you mention her. Hope Buttercup can sleep better tonight also.

Cleo: Oh how nice w/you and your DB...talented family. No one in mine though. I'm sure the residence really enjoyed you.

Cjah: I relooked at my list and it says your DD  11-4-86....I can change it if you tell me what date.

Well, will see you Grannies tomorrow. Have a good chat and Cj. keep away from that Flu.

Lily, wish I could have shared some of the sunshine here with you.  It has been really beautiful.  Yes, I'm thankful for my musical family.  When we knew my DF didn't have long to live, we called the DC and and told them to come home.  We had a wonderful afternoon playing music.  I heard the guitars stop playing and turned to see behind me that my DF had handed his guitar to my DS and then he was gone.  All the family was there and he was doing what he loved.  Gosh, don't know why I've had all these memories come up today.

My internet was off and on all afternoon.  I have choir practice and church soon, so need to get ready to finish off my day.

Back from my appointment and errands and have a few minutes before DH gets home-cabbage rolls in the oven.

Suzi, did you get a lot of sewing done today?

Justme, gland you explained the washer/water situations and glad you finally got it done.  I have some laundry to do tonight.  Sounds like you have a lot of time off this month, what holiday is Wednesday?

Apple, you sure to to do a lot of neat and different sales.

Jane, we leave a week from tomorrow and will only be in FL for a few days.  We will be on Marco Island.  We are going to a friends 70th Birthday.  The clock and decorations sound lovely, gets you thinking of Christmas.

Cleo, how nice that you can do that for the residents and good that your DB could participate. Family gatherings at your house must be filled with song.

Sharonb, no bikini here, way too old and lumpy for that but the toes in my flip flops will be a hit.  Had a great day with Jameson yesterday he is so much fun to be around.  Say Happy Birthday to the girls and I know you will be making great treats.

Stylist, what won the eeny-meeny game?  Enjoy your dinner at Bob Evans, I love that restaurant and we don't have them in WI

Grammy, have a great grannie and Becca time tonight.  Did you serve many at the mission today?

Alby, leaves have been picked up here too, only a few left and Monday the man comes to clean out the gutters.

ATV, enjoy your day and ring those bells.

BB2, don't know if I would call myself adventuresome, but I do have fun.

Lily, glad visit with the kids was good, you sure must make good quilts.  Stay out of DH's way and maybe tomorrow will be better.

Fran, can smell that banana bread.

ICook, now one will know that you didn't get dressed (we won't tell) you sound like a busy lady today.

OK, for all who have seen my toes and asked.  Today they are bright purple with a turqoise top (like if they had a french manicure) and my big toes also have glitter and palm trees and a beach so they look like a beach at sunset.  I know you really all wanted to know that.  I am sure they will match more than one outfit and pair of shoes I will be taking and I know I will get several comments at the party.

I'm back early, but DH is watching some racing program so I am out of there.  Don't like the SPEED channel at all. I'll just hang out here and watch for someone to come to chat.  I'll set the rockers out and get afgans for those who need one.
Cleo---What kind of music does your family play?   We know a family that plays Blue Grass Gospel. I love it.
I brought Reese's PB cup cookies and Chunky Choc. Chip cookies. Can add some coffee if you would like. The cookies are store bought but very good.. On sale and DH just couldn't pass them up.         BBS      Suzi

Hi Suzi. I'm here, and waiting for the ball game to begin. Hopefully, this won't be the final game and the Phillies will come back tonight and then win tomorrow night! LOL

Did you get much sewing done today?

HI - Just popping in to say hello b ut I'm not going to hang around - got some dishes to do, and a few other little chores - Didn't get home at lunch time, so ready to put up my feet too.  I'd like to get back to the WC again too, but my knee has been bothering  a little more than usual since Sun. so thought Id better rest it .

Nancy - Thanks for the package - I've not seen them done this way - the one's I've gotten have all been round - don't know what difference it would make as to the shape.  The girls will be so thrilled. Thank You so much, my friend.

Well gotta run - have a good night - sounds like we have some flashy toes in the hood!

Lily---Nothing finished today. Was working on a projct and needed to get something out for it. When I went to get it saw something that needed to be sorted and pitched..Then one thing led to the next and finally got back to the project.  I don't like it when I do that!
