    Hi girls

Hope this finds you all doing well.  I am finally having a day where I don't have to go anywhere.  Yippeee, I can stay home and get caught up on everything.  I poop out every afternoon lately, so I plan on getting busy early then relaxing .

We had a couple very hot days, which everyone complained about, but now it has cooled off considerably and is quite nice.  Feels like Fall finally.

Not sure what is for dinner.  I have some boneless/skinless chicken breasts, so probably something with those.  Donnie has a water polo team dinner tonight at another players house, so I will make choc chip cookies for him to bring.

I better get going.  Want to get a few things done before I wake Jason and Tommy up and I have to get Donnie moving faster.  He keeps saying he's up, but I don't hear any movement up there.

I will be back on later and read the posts.  Have a great day everyone

Good morning ladies, it is an overcast day here in Maine, not going to work outdoors as it is too chilly. You girls would of been proud of me last night, I brought a new 3-1 printer, and installed it myself last night. Had a little trouble with my firewall, but it installed right, and I just love it, now I can print when I want too.

Sherry, what a beautiful pic of your sunset, the sky looks like ours in the summer. Not going to do much today, I finished cleaning the playroom and DH took 5 boxes to Good Will. All my canning and jelly glasses and Blue Books for canning are gone also, and DH's friends wife just loves them, she said it felt like Christmas, Lol. All we have left to do is finished the attic closet, DH wants to insulate it more, and then store our Christmas trees in there and clean the other side, and put boxes in there of things we don't wear right now.

The only room I have to finish Fall Cleaning is my livingroom, I have to get it ready for Christmas. I brought new insulated drapes for my laundry room yesterday with tassels to hold them back. They have a great selection at Bed, Bath and Beyond, and I found the color I wanted right off.

Tonight is leftover Hamburger Soup with Cornbread, so maybe I will get a snooze in the afternoon before DH gets home. Waving to all of the Junes, hope your day goes well. Jill- I am so glad you love your new home, it has been wonderful watching it being built into a loving place to reside. I really enjoyed the pics of your home as it was being erected. Enjoy!! Have a great day, Girls.

    Good Morning June friends!!

Hope you're all having a great Thursday! I woke up early and started doing a few things. I cleaned the kitchen and baked banana muffins, etc... Now I need to have my shower and head over to my doctor. I made this appointment back in the spring to get a flu shot, but now that this H1N1 thing came up I'm thinking I may get it too. I do NOT like getting the regular flu shot, over the years I've found that I get sicker the years I have it than when I don't, but I can't convince my doctor of that. LOL We always argue about it.  After my appointment I have to stop and get a few groceries.  No activities tonight except volleyball practise. Looking forward to a quiet evening watching Survivor.

    Gotta run...

Good morning to all Junes! So glad it's not snowing yet.

Sorry to hear you didn't sleep well MargieThanks for the info on the snappy lunch. Hey, do you ever shop at Harris Teeters? They were expensive, I thought compared to Food Lyon. Don't you think?

Shirley- You mentioned you really like the Andy griffith show too. That and Little House is my favorite programs. When we lived in NC I watch Little House 5 times a day! And Andy 3 times. I guess I wished Ilived during that time when the world wasn't so messed up like it is now.

Gee, the H1N1 flu seems to really be going around fast! I heard on the radio this morning that in Canada they are turning away people that need surgery because of the H1N1 flu so bad.

Jill-Thank you for your anniversary wishes.

Sherry- I think it was Patti that mentioned about your red cabbage recipe. I have one still looking at me in the fridge can you give it to me too? I already made cabbage salad  with the other one.Thanks. That pictures was beautiful!

Linda -  Thank you for your email.

Ok time to do some more work, saying hello to everyone and have a blessed day! Florry.

    Hi Junes

Stopping by quick and late today, had a super busy day yesterday, we finally got the wood floors in the bedroom  YEA!!!!!  Looks so nice, however, still no sink in the bathroom.  Some part was missing with the faucet, so we are in the waiting game, they sent one but was chrome and we have brushed nickel, should be here beginning of next week!!  Cabinets have been ordered, so finally coming together.  Contractor is coming later today to start the trim, pics should be soon!

Hope you are all well,  yikes, that H1N1 is so bad, hope they get those vaccines soon.

Sheila, so glad you are home!!!  Praying you keep getting stronger everyday.

Popping back in on a rest/lunch break.  I got all my jar mixes done.  Just have to put the ribbons and instruction tags on them.  I need to print some more off. Only have a couple left from last year and I tried a new one this year - SnowBall Cookies.  I got it off our post of jar mixes, sorry, don't remember who posted it. I should look that up.

I am eating some leftover rice and red cabbage for my lunch.

Making my list for Aldi's too.

Hope everyone is having a good day!

    Hi again Ladies,

Just taking a break for a moment before moving on to the next thing.  I have cleaned up the kitchen, folded 3 loads of wash, made toll house bar cookies for Donnie's team dinner tonight, had breakfast.  Next on my list is more laundry folding, packing up the Halloween decorations and straightening the family room.

Still not sure what I am doing with the chicken for dinner.  Maybe grill it.  Who knows? I have been lazy so far this week regarding dinner.  Monday we ordered pizza and last night we had subway sandwiches. Want to make something good tonight.

It is still cool (60 degrees) and overcast right now.  I have a few scented candles burning right now and it is so cozy in here.  Love days like this.

I better get back to work.  I was on a roll, but now am getting too comfy in this chair.  Still lots to do.

    Have a great afternoon everyone

    Hi June friends,

As always, better late than never! Can I at least be the first to wish you a happy birthday, Shirley? Thanks to my fancy schmancy B-day list from Laura I can be somewhat timely!

A belated Hello to Florry! Welcome! I was having a computer crisis and had limited access to post. The good news is I have my computer and the bad news is, all of my files were deleted. Yup, irreplaceable pics and scripts I'd written and just about all of my life. I am still traumatized and I can't barely stand to think about it!!!

Sheila- you have been in my thoughts. Stay strong sista! Hugs sent to you!

Jill-not sure what the ultra sound is for but I hope nothing serious.

Margie-sounds like Mr. Sandman has been missing your house. I take Benadryl myself (Simply Sleep) so I feel your pain. Slept on the couch a few hours last night so that I could read at 2:00 am and not wake up DH. Hope you catch some zzzz's tonight.

Here is the recipe for Apple Pie in a Jar. It sounded like a nice gift item. I wish I knew how to can.....

7 quarts, apples peeled, cored, sliced

    4 1/2 c. sugar

    1 cup cornstarch

    2 tsp cinnamon

    1/4 tsp nutmeg

    10 cups water

    3 tbsp lemon juice

Fill quart jars with apples leaving 1" space at top. be sure tp pack apples in jar. Add several apples, use wooden spoon to push down, than add more and repeat.

For syrup, combine sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, nutmeg and water. Over medium high heat, bring to a boil, stirring constantly until syrup is thickened. Add lemon juice. Pour syrup over applesin jar, leaving 1/2" space at top. Run plastic scraper around inside of jar to remove air bubbles. Screw on lids and process for 20 min in boiling water bath.

Hope this posts Ok. I have some recipes from my new CW that I want to share. I'll have to wait until another time. Hope everyone has a lovely Friday!

Hi, Lorrie and whoever else might be up.

Mary, I love Little House. Can't really catch it here. Used to watch it all the time when we lived in NC. It was on a lot there. Also if you like shows like that and can find it the Anne of Green Gables movies and the second one with Colleen Dewhurst as Marilla are just wonderful and love that Prince Edward Island scenery. The guy they had play Matthew was just wonderful for that part!. They are old though....so they might be hard to find.

Florry, here is that red cabbage recipe. So nice that is also a healthy one.

WW Red Cabbage with Apple (2 WW PPS)

I did tweak it a bit by using the whole head of cabbage and adding a bit of Splenda brown sugar substitute. Its pretty good. It has a sweet/sour flavor to it and you can really taste the cloves, so if you don't like cloves, I would cut the amount of cloves a bit. Was great with the Crispy Potato Flake Pork chops (which are 6 points a serving)--altogether a nice filling and yummy meal for 8 points. Not bad at all. Will definitely repeat. 1/4 of this recipe is probably close to 2 cups of cabbage.

1 1/4 lb. red cabbage, coarsely chopped
    1/2 c. apple cider

    1/2 c. chopped McIntosh apple
2 t. vegetable oil (I used canola or olive oil, don't remember which)
    1 each onion, chopped
    1 t. salt
    1/2 t. black pepper
    1/8 t. ground cloves
    1/2 c. apple juice
    1/2 c. water
1/4 c. cider vinegar, or white wine vinegar
    1 t. brown sugar

Core and slice apple (but do not peel). In large nonreactive saucepan or flameproof casserole, heat oil. Add onion. Cook over medium heat until softened, about 3 minutes. Add cabbage and apple and tumble about to coat with oil. Add salt, pepper, cloves, apple juice, and water. Cover and cook, stirring occasionally, until cabbage is tender, 15 to 20 minutes. Combine vinegar and brown sugar. Stir into cabbage. Cook, stirring occasionally, 10 minutes. Serve hot. Yield: 4 servings. Diabetic exchanges: 2 veg, 1/2 fruit, 1/2 fat.
