Good morning. It's so bright and sunny. Gary wanted to clean up the yard one LAST time but that is about the total extent of plans.

Jane the plans for the Dells sound like fun. It's nice to finally go something that you have all talked about for so long. Your DD is right Windows 7 is different but it's so easy to work with. I love it.

Stylist it's nice to get all of those Dr. appointments done for awhile. This time of the year I like to stay out of the Dr waiting rooms as much as possible.

Suzie love the tulips too but it takes a lot of work to get them to grow in our dirt. It's just to heavy and full of tree roots.

{{{{mimib}}}} We all have these days of bitter sweet memories.

ATV it's an indian summer weekend planned here. Today is beautiful and I think that it was supposed to be like this till Monday.

Liny & Fran-----thanks for the pictures. Loved seeing the beautiful quilts and the beautiful grannies.

Think I'm running a little behind so I better get going and start my day. I finished the last of the baby things for this year. I want to take a couple of pictures so I can remember what I made.

    Good morning grannies,

Jane, Thanks for breakfast.  A cramp is a bother at anytime hope your's goes away.  The Christmas show with friends sounds like fun, glad you could fit it in.  Remind me - what is DD taking classes for?

Stylist, What a tragedy at Ft. Hood, they will be remembering them today.  Enjoy you night with the DGC.

Mimit, working is a good way to keep your mind busy.  Have a good Friday.

ATV, Yes, hopefull Indian Summer in WI.  I know of a good craft fair today and tomorrow.  It is on Springdale Drive, right across from Sam's Club in Waukesha.  It is called Heartfelt Holly Days.

Good morning to Cleo, Sharonb, bb2 and Lilly.  Have a great TGIF

     Goooooooooood Morning, Grannies!!

For a sunny day it sure is cloudy. It is suppose to get into the 50 today. If that happens it will be nice.

Jane, It sounds like you have a great Wed to look forward to. Congrats to your DD. Thanks for the breakfast.

Stylist, A belated happy birthday to your DH. I didn't remember it when I was visiting. I hope the ride on the new road makes it much faster. Also praying for a good report from the dr.

Suzi, I hear you got good news for Thanksgiving. I know you are looking forward to that.  Sorry I missed sending the pictures to you. I had taken your name off the grannie list when you weren't home. I'm sure your mailbox was packed. That was a good reminder to put it back on.

Cleo, I will be sending you a picture of some of the grannies so you can put a face to the name.

Sharonb, It sounds strange to be talking about camping. Only deer hunters camp around here at this time of the year. I hope the girls have fun.

Left HugMimibRight Hug It is so nice to see you at the table this morning. It sounds like you are keeping busy working and enjoying the DGC.

Nancy, It sounds like the boys are ready to hunt again. Or at least enjoy each others company. What kind of pie are you making?

BB, I got up fast last night due to the beginning of a leg cramp. I don't get them too often now, but did when I was younger.  That was a long time ago. Smile

Lily, I hope you are feeling better today. It sounds like you have lots of plans for today. I do that too, but lots of time they are only plans and not much action. Big Smile

Alby, I hope you will share the pictures of the quilts. There is a little outside work left to do here. So if you want to stop over when you are done at your place you are welcome.

    GU, Have a nice day.

Grammy, Prayers that your testing will go well.

Granny1987, I love tulips. They make it seem like spring is definitely here when they bloom.

I plan on doing some cleaning here today. I am not keeping up too well with that job.

Prayers for all those hurting from the tragedy at Ft. Hood.

    Re: 11-06-09 - Grannie Neighborhood

Just finished my walk and it is beautiful out.  It's 43 but will be in 70's and sun will shine.  We're supposed to have rain for the weekend.

SharonB - We do have cold weather here, but it is erratic.  Usually have a hard frost around Thanksgiving but sometimes Thanksgiving or Christmas are so warm we almost need the air conditioner by the time the house gets full of people.  Then it usually gets really cold around New Year's, but once again, it might be 70+ the next day.

Lily, I have tried putting the tulips in the refrigerator,  but my refrigerator usually gets "cramped" around the holidays, and then when it's time to put the tulips out, we might have a week in the 70's or more and they don't last but a few days because of the heat.  I do put paperwhites in my kitchen window so they will bloom in January when I 'm depressed over the cold weather.  Don't think I could live through a northern winter.  Not being able to "play" outside gets me down.   I shouldn't complain, because we are able to grow many other things.

BB2 - Yes, prayers for so many effected by the tragedy, and as you said, don't know how people cope when they are'nt grounded in their faith.

Mimib - Prayers for you.  Sounds like you have the right attitude to stay busy.

ATV - Sounds like your DH has a good time hunting and camping with his DB.  My DSIL is a big hunter and is teaching my DGS who's 10.  The DGS already got a big one this year.

Gram2five - I'll be looking for the pictures.  It will be great to put a face to the names.  Thanks very much.

Alby, I take pictures of my garden so I can remember how pretty my garden will be in the spring

    Re: 11-06-09 - Grannie Neighborhood

A quick good morning to all my grannie friends.  It's another beautiful day and we are to have chamber of commerce weather for the weekend.  I would love to get our family together and get a picture made for Christmas cards, but don't think I'll be able to pull that off--but it might be worth a try!

DH is none the worse for wear from his accident.  The lady who hit him is making noises about him speeding and that she was found at fault only because he got to talk to the highway patrolman first.  Well, the skid marks tell the real story and it's difficult to see how DH could be speeding when I could see the accident from the south windows of our house, he had just literally turned out of our driveway, so no way he could have been speeding!  On top of it all, she gave the wrong insurance company name which explains why I wasn't getting anything done at the company she first gave yesterday!

Jane, your trip to the Dells sounds wonderful and I bet it will be a memory making day for you.  You're right, those spur of the moment activities are sometimes much better than those we plan for quite some time.  Enjoy!

Hope Justme and Lily are feeling better today.  MIMI, sending a big hug to you.

GU, I'm with you.  I love to shop and lunch out just is the icing on the cake.  I love to go with someone but also like to go by myself because I know what I like to look at, how to quickly shop the bargain spots (like at Target!) and can be on my own schedule.  I'm in a Christmas shopping mood, too, so I just may try to get some shopping done tomorrow.  Would love to find one of the climbing sets by Little Tikes or Step2 for Eli, but they are expensive!  Been watching rummage sales, in fact went by one this morning, but it was trashed.  If they're in good shape, they often want the same price as new!  I'm also thinking maybe one of the Little Tikes picnic tables and then maybe the climbing set for his birthday in March?  Decisions, decisions.  You'll have fun with Jameson this Christmas!

I got to be with Eli yesterday afternoon--he's really starting to talk a lot more and guess what he says everytime he sees me?  Paw-Paw!  He looks around me to see if his "Paw-Paw" is somewhere!  But, I'm not too jealous.  His other favorite words are "tractor" and "John Deere" and "no!"

OK, time to get to work.  Love to all.....

Good Morning all, another great day here 54 and sunny. Finally got  all my flowers beds dug up now I just have to get rock to cover the ground with. Going to waite till TG when Nate is here hes you and strong he can help me.

Atv, you ask about my commissary day I usually check out the Exchange while I'm on base. The commissary is much like it has always been a bit bigger now and they have build new ones at most bases. Or at least around here we have 3 Naval bases with in 10-15 miles of us.

Have a great day everyone. Jan

Taking a SSD and having another cup of coffee.

LILY, was out in the yard and it is a bit nippy even with that nice temp. A little raking here, but no windrows.

ALBY, I had a friend who always took pictures of every project she made. That is a good idea. If it's nice out, I bet Albert would even enjoy a romp in the yard.

CHARLEEN, not ready for the heavy winter coat, just yet. Happy Birthday to your DH. Lots of cake for him to enjoy.

That's the one I'm going to, GLEE. Been going to this fair for years when they had it at the Moose Club in Waukesha. Nice things, creative ladies.

FRAN, The Boys always camped for hunting for years. Now, they have it a little better. I am making a peach pie. Russell likes to change what he brings each year, but his favorite is cherry. Read in the Old Famer's Almanac that Wed. will be a super hunting day-----we shall see.

CLEO, DH comes from a big hunting family. The family joke is you don't get married, have a baby or die during hunting season. Russell taught our DGS, age 12, to shoot rifle and pistol. This is the first year Bradley could deer hunt. And, he got a 9 point buck when he went during the Youth Hunt here in WI. DGS also does competitive pistol shooting with Russell at our Gun Club. You would make it thru one of our winters-----you just hibernate and drink some hot toddys. And, if you want to get outside, you can go out and make an angel in the snow. LOL

    Back to Swiffing.

Checking back in to see what all are up to.. Sounds like everyone is busy or else they are acting busy.I decided to take today as a "Me" day. Woke up early and sat up for awhile, then couldn't keep my eyes open so I took a nap. Only an hour but it was refreshing.
Cleo---too bad you don't have a fridge in the garage. Lots of folks (older) around here pot their tulips, hyacinth, and papterwhites and keep them in the garage fridge. Then they bring them out for the dreary dull days of winter.I wish I had a fridge in the garage myself.
Greenback----Don't know if you already know this but if you will stretch your leg out as well as possible when the cramp hits. Then point the toes down as far as possible. Then bend them back toward you as far as possible. That stretches the cramping muscle and relieves it.  DD#5 learned that in classes she took at Purdue. She was  a team trainer for the HS she went to. Took care of all the major sports.  It has helped me many times.
Mimib---Good to see you back. DH and I were talking last night about how near you are to FT.Hood. Hope your day is good, though bittersweet.
Debbie----I use to like to shop a lot. I always said if I had money for lunch I could go shopping (looking).  I went with friends like that many times. The adult conversation was nice too.
ATV----Whatever wouldConfused we do without our Swiffers? I used my swiffer duster yesterday. The one with the telescoping handle. DH did the ceiling fans for me. We used two clean pads and didn't get finished. How dirty and dusty is my house?  Confused
Got to go. DH has my lunch sandwich fixed and I even get a can of pepsi. Lucky me!  BBL  Suzi

Suzi - I do wish I had a refrigerator in the garage, even for food.  Shouldn't complain, though, I do have two freezers.   One is 35 years old, though. I have a very large cooler that I can use for holidays. usually freeze water in gallon jugs so it stays cold.

    Good afternoon all,

It is a beautiful autumn day here, will try to get in a walk this afternoon, but also have an appointment for a hair cut and color.

ATV, what a small world, when are you going to the craft fair, DD and I will be there at 9:00 tomorrow morning.  Four of the ladies that run this fair are in my Monday painting group, so this is the fair I go to each year also.

Debbie, I got Jameson the Little Tykes slide and climer that looks like a castle, bought it at Target, that will be for his Birthday which is 3 weeks after Christmas and can be put out into his yard in the spring.  Also bought Fisher Price "Little People" riding thing that has a race car theme and the "Silly Town"  Silly Town is for Christmas.

Everyone have a great afternoon  BBL GU

Whew! it's SSD time. I had to make a fast break for the door this morning. #1 called and I though it must be TuesdayBig Smile After a nice chat about the logistics concerning the people who will be staying here next week I had to make a hasty exit to make my 9:00 appt! I got there and had the CAT scan of the sinus done. Four appts this week! None till the 18th now.

Sounds like there will be 12 adults and 1 baby staying here for 3 nights.  I think I have sleeping arrangements worked out and a food plan in the works. I just put together a large pan of lasagna,  it went to the freezer to be baked for Friday night supper.   I have a plan for the other meals that I will work on another day. Debbies Z bread will be a nice addition to the table for one meal.

    Time for that SSD now

Back home again.  The new road is very, very nice and it'll be great when the entire stretch is finished.  We haven't seen any sunshine today and the temp is in the low 50's but it seems cooler to me.  We stopped at Wendy's for a quick sandwich on the way home.  I had to have an Echo and have a change in meds.  The Dr. will call with results later.  I've even had a short nap.

GU  Isn't it fun to buy for the little ones?  So much easier than the tweens and teens. IMO

ATV  I take it hunting season is very important to your DH.  LOL

CLEO  I am another one that loves yellow tulips.  I also enjoy yellow roses and I had some yellow petunias this year too that I like.

GRAM  Don't feel bad about your cleaning, I'm a 100% slacker this week.  Come on over and we'll work on it together.

ALBY  This really isn't a good time to be going to the Dr. office!!!  Did you get the flu shot?  H1N1?

BB2  I've never had apple bread or blueberry bread but I bet I'd like it.

    LILY  Did you mow?

    MIMIB  {{{{}}}}  So sorry you're memories aren't good ones today.  Tomorrow will be another day and hopefully that will be a better day for you. {{{}}}

GRAMMY  Well I think it really is SSD time for you.  Don't get so tired you won't enjoy the wedding and the weekend with family and friends.  I bet Soraya will keep you moving!  I'm glad all the Dr. appointments are over for you for a couple of weeks.

We'll be having spaghetti and meatballs for supper.  I have banana bread, smores and peanut clusters for dessert.  Think the kids will enjoy those desserts?  Oh, I forgot to mention ice cream with chocolate chips.  LOL   TTYL
